I think the new GLC is really good looking. and really like the interior. I did like the GLK though too, always my favorite to sit in at the car show every year.
Saw three temp tags in a Walmart lot in El Paso this afternoon, a new Soul, new CR-V and a new to the owner Saturn Vue. Not sure about the Soul, I don't know them well enough to tell the generations apart, and the owner was in a hurry and I didn't get a chance to chat them up. May have been a 2016.
In the parking lot at work, silver F150 4x4 supercrew, white Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, gray Volvo S60. Also, at a house for sale just before my street, an all black Challenger Hellcat.

On the freeway heading north on Hwy 69 in the KC Metro I saw the first Mitsubishi i-MiEV all-electric rig I've ever seen out and about. That thing really looks like a little contraption. Kudos to Mitsubishi if they were going for the unusual look. If so, they done nailed it!
When it first came out I saw a few of the i-MiEV's around but haven't really seen any OTR lately. One of my sisters, actually her husband, has one. They live in another state so I haven't had a test drive.
Personally I don't mind the rolling egg look. Different but IMO not actually ugly like, say, Aztek or Juke.
Seen a couple new Cadenzas lately. Improvement for sure.
Have yet to see a G90, but I do see an odd Equus/K900 around. Probably a good used buy, but depreciation has to be catastrophic, even worse than German boats.
fushigi - I agree on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV look - it actually draws my eyes in for a longer look. After looking at the all-electric driven car for a while my eyes wanted a longer look. The same thing happens whenever I see a Nissan Versa sedan or a Nissan cube or a Scion xA or iA. The Scion iA is now a Toyota Yaris iA - they've inherited the car from Scion. Every time I see one, I have to stare at it until it's out of sight range. Car hankerings usually remain for a lifetime.
Maybe the ones who weren't on board with the predator face. So many swoops and creases, and the fake DLO in the C-pillar isn't what I would call cool. A timeless design, this is not.
My wife sat in one of the QX30s (MB-based Infiniti) while we were there to test drive the QX60. She said the QX30 felt cramped. My under-5 foot tall wife said it felt cramped.
I very much liked the QX60, though. With the power boost it can move pretty well. Need a little more time to figure out the gadgetry but I can see it happening.
The idea of of a Bentayga in real world off road use is like the idea of a Bentayga owner being self made and completely ethical and above board.
Saw a Model S 90D in the workplace garage, I so want to replace the Tesla badging (which is in such a dull font, reminds me of a 90s Buick) with an old MB "190D" badge.
2017 RAV4 Hybrid, just purchased by a weaving friend. They had trouble getting the color they wanted - wound up paying "a lot" for a white one that does not have a black interior.
Mercedes GLC has become quite popular in the Boston area. I counted more than a dozen of them on my way home from there yesterday afternoon. At first it comes off kind of bland and generic but once you really look at the details, it is quite stylish. I quite like it myself.
Saw a couple of new S90's as well. A very handsome sedan IMO...
Saw something interesting the other day, one of the new Volvo SUVs, I believe a XC90. It was just getting dark out and the driver came to an offset intersection. At first he steered slightly to the right and I saw a light appear on the right. Then he steered left and it went out and a cornering light of sorts came on ahead of the front wheel on the left. He used no turn signals on either side. It seemed like it has cornering lights that are switched by inputs to the steering wheel. Never saw that before, interesting.
The new XC is everywhere here now. Co-worker who has some dough recently got a top of the line high spec hybrid one. I have yet to see an "Excellence", as for 100K+, I'd take a Range Rover or a mafioso G-Wagen. Volvo is ambitious for sure.

My wife's Outback has cornering lights triggered by the steering wheel.
That is a cool thing. I love cornering lights and they are on too few vehicles. My old '79 Park Avenue had them and they seemed almost as bright as a headlight, which was great. My Intrigue had them too but they were not nearly as bright, really not very useful to the driver. I don't think I've had them on any car since. Unfortunate.
The full LED lights on my E also have a cornering function, I notice it when I am in a garage etc, it puts out extra light sideways when the wheel is turned beyond a certain angle. Not sure of the practical use of it, but it's interesting.
Miss the cornering lights from my 04 Grand Marquis, they were triggered by the turn signals. I didn't know about the steering wheel trigger. It only makes sense, all cars now have a steering angle sensor for stability control, so they just use that output.
I do have to say that I miss them. The CTS had adaptive headlights or whatever they are, that turned with the wheel. I live in such a rural area with no streetlights nor ambient light. I did not realize how much difference they made until now that I no longer have them.

I think we just had the headlight discussion over in CCBA, but yes Xenons that swivel are fantastic. Our Enclave just has regular Xenon and I do notice a difference from the LaCrosse that swiveled.
My wife's MKC definitely has corner in lights active by turning the wheel. Back in '83 my Tbird had them too, but I think they were activated by the turn signals.

But the big sighting was my first-ever RR Silver Dawn convertible, on the same drive to work. That's some commuter car...

are these even out yet? Was running "vehicle manufacturer" tags (I live real close to Subaru's American headquarters).

I knew off-roading could be expensive, but gee, for $280,000 I'd want my own private trail.
OK, hiding my iPad under the bed?
I dunno---1/4 million dollar SUVs playing with Jeeps at Moab and driven by journalists who will never own one---it all borders on self-parody.
