...I did briefly spot my first Solstice on the way home from work Saturday night. This one was black and parked outside a small Pontiac dealer in Richboro, PA.

at the Mitsubishi dealer today. Looked better from a distance than the Dakota (it's clone) does. I would like to see the interior of it. I hear that the interior is very "car like".

FYI it's xA, and xB for the boxy Echo/Yaris-based Scions. I'm surprised they aren't sold in Canada considering it's more small-car friendly than the USA.

I saw one too, also at the dealer, in a very nice navy color. I agree they look much better than the Dakotas. Given the way Mitsus are (or aren't) selling they could be making some pretty good deals on them, and I think they have a better warranty as well.

As a side note, the local Mitsu dealer used to be a Mitsu / Subaru dealer, and 2 or 3 years ago they sold the Subaru franchise to focus on Mitsubishi. I think that was probably about as good a move as a local Hyundai / Isuzu dealer who 5 years ago sold the Hyundai franchise. They're not around anymore...

I passed by the local Mitsu dealer and saw some of these too. This is one good looking truck. Real aggressive and hip.

They've also got a pretty good commerical going for it too. It faces Nissan's small pickup and they stare each other down and then start moving towards each other. The Nissan backs down (of course) and starts to lose it's fluid uh...coolant (you get the implication).

I don't know how long these have been out but it was the first that I have seen.

Definitely looks different than an Explorer, I had to get up close to read the badge because it looked like something totally new.

Today I saw a dark green Volkswagen Phaeton 6.0L W12. It's a beautiful car to look at, and the interior is amazing, better than anything from Mercedes, Lexus or BMW. It was also very large, yet very elegant. Seeing a Phaeton is really rare for me.

guss, the Lincoln Aviator has been out since 2003!!! I can't believe you haven't seen one yet, lol!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
First I saw a new CLS...and it was being followed by a Bentley Conty GT! Both black.

    Nice...

Then I followed an RX400H into my parking garage, someone must have just bought it. But I parked on a different floor so I didn't see who it was.

Later I saw an Aston Martin Vantage. Sweeeet! :)

Forgot to mention, I've seen a couple of these over the past day or two.

They look a bit bloated, I dunno. And those overhangs are sooo long.

I guess I need to change neighborhoods. I see way too many Explorers.

I saw a Fusion on the road. It had a dealer tag so it must have been a test drive. Front end looks a little like a CTS.

A Mercedes dealer in north Toronto has a few of the new B-Class models out. Looks pretty sharp. I don't think it's for sale in the States but it looks like it could be a volume seller for the brand in Canada

Saw one today at the automall. Odd looking thing. Like a large scale Cherokee Classic.

Like a large scale Cherokee Classic.

I just saw a new Commander with dealer plates on it. It should look as good as a Cherokee Classic, instead it looks like an old Grand Wagoneer with the woody siding removed.

Not just ugly but drab. :(

I hate the Commander, I can't belivee anyone approved it, and I happen to like the classic Jeep looks. I saw it at the NY auto show and it was laughable. The need for a third row for families is real, but they tend to be cramped and uncomfortable when automakers squeeze a third row in a medium sized suv (Volvo, land rover). The Commander is bizarre, I do not predict succes in the sales column
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Yeah true. I mean there's boxy but ok looking (Element, Scion, G Wagen, old Suburban from mid 90's), boxy and nice (300C), and boxy and ugly (Commander). For some reason the whole thing just doesnt click.

I'd take and Expedition any day over that.

This morning I saw an 06 Accord with the new rear-end. To me, the rear now looks just like an Acura TL. The new LED brake lights are cool though.

spotted a silver four door pulling out of a dealership. WOW! :)

Saw one of these this morning with dealer plates so I guess they're here now.

Very sterile and plain looking with lots of bare unadorned sheetmetal.

probably not the most exciting spotting, but they aren't out yet so I thought I'd be the first to tell. Our regional service rep is driving one.

Overall a nice design for a small car. It looks like it has no trunk space from the outside, but when you open it it is very large. Interior seemed to be a huge upgrade. ABS and Side curtain airbags standard. This one had 4 wheel disk brakes and aluminum wheels. Nice for bargain basement transportation.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
I've seen several 06 Accord this week. The new rump is how the car should have looked from the start.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Saw my 2nd HHR in person, a wild orange color. Again, surprising how small it is in person.

    Also saw an Infiniti M.

a BMW 760Li, my first one. It was in black.

Also a previous gen. BMW M5 in red.

Also two Lexus GS300s, one is black other in white. Two Sonatas as well, in the same color. They've started to become quite common.

Two Audi A6s as well, one in black other in silver. Four 300Cs, in blue, grey, silver, and black.

Finally, a yellow Hummer H2 SUT.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
I saw another Range Rover Sport today, in white. Strangest thing, it was on a car hauler along with a c. '68 Chevy short bed pickup in immaculate condition.

I saw 4 or 5 Elise yesterday, and an 06 Civic coupe.

The SUT...funny how you can play with the letters to create a more appropriate name

    with manufacturer plates.

    Are these for sale already?

Stopped by my local dealer on Sunday to see if the had a Solstice laying around. Of course not.

But they had 2 Torrents pretty loaded up that looked pretty nice. Did not look too much like the Equinox as I thought it would. They have a much more aggressive grille.
  • danf1danf1 Member Posts: 897
No. Hyundai hasn't even said when they will be.
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
my first Hummer H3 in black.

And then 3 Grand Vitaras, in black, silver and reddish-orange. They seem to be gaining in popularity and I can see why.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,332
Well, I have seen the one at my sno's school since late summer. It's always there when I pick him up from band practice. SOmebody must work for Hyundai (it has mnufacturers plates on it).

Not bad looking, kinda resembles a slightly larger Sonata. Doesn't look like what you would expect from a Hyundai though if you didn't see the badge.

You are from Jersey aren't you ? What would a Hyundai with manuf. plates be doing there. I though there new plant was down in Alabama.
  • danf1danf1 Member Posts: 897
Hyundai's regional offices for the Eastern region are in New Jersey as is one of their ports of entry, so it makes perfect sense.

Today I saw my first Ferrari F430, in that awesome shade of red. The driver drove really dangerously, and even with the windows rolled up the engine sounded very loud.

And later I saw a black Aston Martin DB7, the new models look way better.
  • gussguss Member Posts: 1,167
Is there any other color for a Ferrari?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 265,514
Every F355 I've ever seen (all three of them..lol) have been yellow... C&D also had a yellow one on the cover in the '90s when they first came out...

    Weird, huh?

Is there any other color for a Ferrari?

Sure there is, Red's practically a cliche on 'em, like silver on Porsches.
FLY Yellow is also a "signature color" for Ferraris and has been used on numerous racing Ferraris. FLY=Ferrari light yellow.

Black, Silver and Titanium look great on F-cars, in fact a Silver '63 250 Berlinetta Lusso
is the best looking car I've ever seen, I still remember it after 41 years!.

So I have started seeing 750 Beemers around and despite the reputed referesher they received I can not tell them apart from 745s from any angle other than from the new wheels (which are rather boring).

Ther are a few R-Classes around now and I think it looks really slick. If you have need of a minivan but want something upscale this is your new option. Nice with a roof rack as well, seems like it's not to exravagantly priced with the V-6 instead of the 500.

I have not seen any of the new family haulers in NYC, No HHRs, no Sonatas, No refreshed accords, no Impalas. I think the fact is in Manhattan if you can afford a car at all ($400/month for a garage minimum) you can afford a really nice car.

The audi A8 W12 has become more popular amongst the Park Ave. power broker set. I think b/c it was rated tops by a chaufeur professional association recently

I am getting pretty bored with Bentley CGTs, when is the flying spur coming out?
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
...the first 2006 Honda Civic I've seen on the street. This one was a white sedan.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Saw an Accord in my garage, someone here must've bought one.

Then I saw a new Impala. They are becoming common now. I've also seen 2 of the new-style Malibus, with the face-lifted front end. They look better.

I couldn't agree less, we don't see that many 7ers around here but I sure can tell when I'm seeing a new one, they look great IMO, and I can tell a new one from quite a ways off.

Bored w Bentley's, geez. I've seen fleeting glimpses of two. They look great too. :shades:

Of course there are other colors for Ferraris, but most people buy red because it looks the best.

I have seen several silver 360 Modenas, and blue Maranellos. None of those look as good as the red version.

With respect to exotic cars, it seems that they seem best looking in a certain color. Example, Porsche in silver, Lamborghini in yellow/orange, Ferrari in red, Aston Martin in greyish/green.......
  • gussguss Member Posts: 1,167
I know there are other colors. The days of the the Model T where you could get it in any color ,as long as it is black are way over.

I was just making the point that almost everyone I see is red and they do look great in red. Although if you gave me one in black , I would take it.
  • jaserbjaserb Member Posts: 820
they call it "resale red". In other words, even someone who might like a different color will have to give red some consideration so they can sell it easier down the road.

I saw another Bentley Flying Spur today. I've seen two of these now
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
...another Chevrolet HHR - this one a weird bronzish color. I think it looks better than the PT Cruiser. I like the quad round taillights.
  • teds1teds1 Member Posts: 180
Perhaps Bored was too strong, I just mean they are common enough and have been around long enough that they really shouldn't even qualify for this forum anymore. I also think they look great.

first new civic last night as well, can't wait for the si, may even look into getting one
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
I saw the new Lexus IS today...it's not bad looking, but maybe i am growing jaded, as I wasn't really knocked over or anything.
