I have the same issue with a 300C that I ordered on 9/3. I have an EC number that was good until the end of the year. I called Chrysler and was told they would honor the EC number until the backlog was caught up. Better honor it, it's one of the main reasons I sold my Lexus. I also asked about the $1000 back if you finance through Chrysler. They said that was up to the dealer?????

Previously, I had posted requesting information related to my order. I had to change color, if I had stayed with Satin Jade, the car never would have been built. Changed to Cool Vanilla, only thing is, now the car is back in "edit" status. I hope the circle isn't starting all over again. For all those who have ordered Satin Jade or Deep Lava, better contact your dealers. Those colors are history as of December.

Got my 300C yesterday,5PM. Order went in 7/29. Satin Jade Pearl with all options except pedals and smokers. I hope those who ordered that color get it. When I ordered, they told me 90-120 days. It was 120. I drove it a bit last night in the rain. Amazing how it can accelerate on wet pavement. It's worth the wait! Everything works. No problems. No pull. No complaints. The last thing the dealer did just before I left was give me a coupon for a free tank of gas at the station six blocks away. While I was filling it, a couple people came over raving over the car, asking me how I liked it. I suppose that's just a taste of things to come until there are more on the road. Um, maybe not... I mean, how many 57 Chevys did they have to build before people quit raving about them? Not everyone liked the '57 either, but if one did, sweet, then or now. Ditto.

If you have patience it's worth the wait. I have nothing but really good things to say about the people at the dealership. I know all people and experiences aren't the same. My thought on that is, find someone you feel comfortable working with. If they don't seem straight forward with you, go to a different dealer. There are lots of them around. I've read about how dealers have allocations. I don't know a thing about that but it might be an issue one could find out about before placing an order. I got a VON number within 10 days of placing my order so I'd suggest, get a VON number. Ask for answers. Be positive minded when dealing with people. It goes a long long way!!! It makes it easier for you to say no if you have to, instead of a no, no, no, attitude, which is a drone that, to me means more like yes at any cost. Just the way I see it and how a lot of sales people see it. After you negotiate your price, ask if you can get that price locked in. If they say yes, get it in writing. If they say no, go somewhere else. If they give you a price then they should stick to it. They'll be happy and so will you. More later and good luck. Like I said, it's worth the wait. If I figure out how to post pics I'll do so. More later. :-)

I'm supposedly 7 weeks into my 16 week wait for a 300C. I asked my salesman what he knew about it. He doesn't have a clue. He did look up my VON, but nothing else. Is there something he can check or anything I can do to make sure I'm in the queue and not losing ground? I'm surprised that the dealer knows nothing. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

With 100,000 vehicle back-log, I'm sure it's chaos at the factory. Your number is on a list in the system, but you just have to wait until it comes up. Even after you get you VIN they know nothing for a long time. Your dealer has access to the "Business Center", something the customer service people don't (or so I have been told). My dealer got a print-out every day but it just tells the status, no time frame and usually no reasons until things start happening. See post #183 in this forum for status code meanings.

Thanks, bjs. The chaos is what I'm afraid of. I accepted the 16 weeks originally and I'm OK with that. If I find it's slipping, I'll probably start shopping again. I got a real cool feeling talking to the salesman about the situation.

I ordered my 300c on august 23rd. Fully loaded
with all factory options in Cool Vanilla.
I was quoted 6 weeks by the sales manager at that time.

It has been revised every month since then.
Yesterday November 30th I was told that the factory had misplaced my order and that I would
have to start all over again.

      Not a chance!
I will not be buying a 300c from dc.

Get it from another dealer... it's apparent your dealer jerked you...
  • ianyerianyer Member Posts: 5
That doesn't smell right to me. It's more likely that the dealer got a better offer on your car and decided to take it and make you wait.

If they are saying it was an error at the factory then I would demand to speak to the Chrysler District Manager. If it was a factory error then he should work with you to make it right. If it's the dealer screwing you over, then he should be made aware of that too.

Don't let this go without a fight.

I took my 300C in to my dealer yesterday for my first oil change ($26.99). As I was waiting, I went to the showroom a talked to my sales guy. They had 4 C's in stock as well as a 2 Limiteds 2 Tourings and a base. He told me that the current hold-up on new orders is the 5.7 Hemi. Chrysler can't make them fast enought because they're now available in the new Grand Cherokee and those are selling very well. 300C + Jeep + Durango + Ram + Magnum = shortage.
  • viper01viper01 Member Posts: 18
I was expecting a 16 week wait, but my 300C arrived in exactly 9 weeks. All options except wood, smoke and pedals. I picked it up on December 20. No problems yet, but the u-connect didn't work a couple times. It's working now, but I'll keep my eye on it.

    It's better than I expected.

My wife is short and is curious if the seat raises and can be high enough for her. Any short folks out there who can answer this? Thanks.

I placed my order here in California on 11/10/04 and just received my car today 1/15/05. Its a fully loaded 300c AWD.

Dealer tells me that there are no more slots for the AWD for this model year and that I likely lucked out to get this one.

Overall the order experience really could not have been much better. Dealer has 5 300s in stock due to non-delivery. (main reason he said was 4 month order wait made buyers impatient)

    Hello to everyone!

     I order a 330c Satin Jade on 02/09/05.

How can I find out the status of my car?

        THANK

Patience my friend. Don't bother calling the dealer or corporate, they will just give you the run around. Just forget about it and one day it will arive. I called corporate about my 300C a few days before it was delivered, and the said it was still in production!

Just ordered a 300c RWD. VON: 15331928, Status: BA on April 28.
What are the status letters and whaen do they change?

    Ron
  • bjsohiobjsohio Member Posts: 69
I'm not sure what BA means, but you can view the status codes on post #183 in this forum. As far as the time between status changes go...it all depends on the availability of options, parts, dealer allotment, etc. Mine took 4 months, but that was last year at this time and there was a sunroof shortage..

Why is production limited? I notice when I enter the site to get a price that is says "Production Limited". Why.

    Thanks

I got a call from my dealer today that a part for the AWD that is made in Australia is faulty and Chrysler is looking for a new supplier. Has anyone heard this or is my dealer playing me? All I want is my fully loaded 300 AWD in magnesium pearl with the Hemi to replace my delapitated Blazer.

I ordered a 300 base with power pedals in the new color, silver steel (hope it ends up being dark gray) about 2 1/2 weeks ago. They are starting some story about one of the two interiors not offered on the 2006 even though it still shows onthe Chrysler site. Trying to buy this car was a very frustrating experience. I have been buying my cars on the phone or internet for a good many years but this was new. The Chrysler people are using the Honda/Toyota line from the 70's saying they are hard to get. There are PLENTY of these cars in stock but very few base models. I saw production schedules from Jan 24 and the base models were last on the new 2006 models schedule but I am in no hurry. I almost bought a Inifinity M35 but just didnt want to spend the extra money for my car. I finally found a country dealer that sold me the car at a reasonable price with a low "doc" fee. I think the car could come any day but that would be a stroke of luck. I think it will arrive the end of July. I hope the pull problem does not surface in my car. If it does - Chrysler will soon have the car back. Long time since I ordered a car - hope it works out.

Ironically, I posted the following message yesterday (although i can't find it on the website anywhere):

"I have had a 2006 Chrysler 300C AWD on order from the factory since 2/05. The car is supposedly ready to assembled, but is now showing up on the "restriction sheet" with the date for assembly indicated as "TBD". My dealer cannot find out what this means, nor the reason for the delay. The Chrysler customer service rep to whom I spoke told me that she has received numerous calls on this issue and told me that apparently all of the 2006 AWD's are "TBD" and they have been given no indication as to why. She was as frustrated as I am. My conclusion is that they have discovered a problem with AWD. Anyone know the real reason?"

Your comment may very well be the reason. I would also appreciate hearing from others exprexperiencing same problem. I do not understand why chrysler will not share the reason with their own dealers nor customer service department.

Similar situation here, my wife and I have had our 2006 300C AWD ordered for 5 months (1/05-6/05) until we recently cancelled our order. The car never moved from BG status for the entirety of the order. Our dealership claimed that the Chrysler Rep. was in on 6/10 to discuss this issue and others. They say that production on all AWD vehicles has been temporarily halted due to unspecified 'problems' with the AWD. Our dealership claims that Chrysler says it may have the problem fixed and production may start up again by July 1 on AWD models. We may decide to try and order the car from somewhere else, undecided yet. Let us know if you find any additional info out about the AWD.

    FYI

I ordered my Silver Steel Metallic Limited on May 31st. Just called the factory for status and learned it is in D1 status with a July 21st estimated shipping date. So, it looks like it is running at about 8 weeks right now.

    Copy that.
I just picked up my 2006 300c AWD Cool Vanilla, sunroof, Nav/w upgraded Boston, Walnut trim, Protection Group 2, U-Connect, Sirius, High Intensity Lights, from a dealer in Fairfax Virginia for $37,900.They were awesome to deal with.
Had one on order from Newberg, Oregon since 01/02/05. Got frustrated from the dealer with no answers. In mid June I found one across the country and bought it over the internet. AWESOME CAR..........

I ordered my 300C silver steel metallic in April. 7 weeks later I had the car delivered to my dealer. Great car, too much fun to drive. I sold my 2003 Anniversary Corvette to purchase the 300C. No regrets :)

Ok all you folks wating for 2006 300c AWD! I have bad news my dealer just called me he had lunch with the DM and was told Chrysler will soon make an announcement AWD's will begin production in October.
  • minus200minus200 Member Posts: 6
a follow up. It seems as if Chrysler does not want to make this car. After 8 weeks i FINALLY got a straight answer from customer service. My 300 base is on hold. No reason-- just it is on hold. It appears all production for August is scheduled and my order is not there. They have some codes for order status and none make sense and the Chysler people or dealers cant or will not tell you what is really going on. I have run inventories arcross the counrty for base models and it appears your location determines if there are any in stock. Much of the midwest and spots in the NE have cars. FYI -- THERE ARE "C"'s EVERYWHERE AND LIMITEDS TOO. There is a decent supply of touring models and darn few bases except in pockets. My base was ordered with only one option - power adj pedal and in Silver Steel. Deliveries of base models are going on right now in a lot of areas. I have become discouraged enough that I will probably cancel my order and buy the M35 and take another look at the Maxium before I buy. I have a heartversion in the morning but by Wed I will make up my mind. This will be my last effort with chrysler. It is a risky buy considering Chrysler's history will resell values. Honda lost me when they refused to fix a recalled Accord in 1977 and the Toyota people jut have a way of making me mad when I walk inthe showroom. The internet may have helped but I just dont want to do business with them. Wish they still made a Roadmaster - an ugly outside - princess inside with some GO when you step on the gas - my favorite car since my 1962 Chrysler 300 with a 413 hemi.

We ordered a 2006 300C RWD, Jade Mist, loaded except for the sunroof, DVD, and the adj. pedals in late june 2 days before going on vacation. We wanted to get the car by October and were concerned about delivery time. When we got home four weeks later, I called to see if thay had any idea of delivery date. Boy, was I shocked when they said it was delivered the previous day. I was totally unprepared but tood delivery that afternoon. So far, no issues. The only issue has been that the manual delivered for the REC Nav system was not for that model and many of the instructions do not apply. We have not been able to get the correct user manual to date.

Back on July 6th the factory told me the estimated ship date for my 2006 300 Limited was July 21st. I ordered the car on May 31st. The factory actually shipped the car on July 22nd. It arrived by train at the Mira Loma, CA distribution center on July 28th. My dealership is in Redlands, CA... about 20 miles from the distribution center.

Get this...my car has not yet been unloaded from the rail car inside the distribution center. Reason given by Union Pacific is that the rail car (plus 20 other rail cars loaded with new Chryslers) has a damaged wheel and cannot be moved to the unloading area until the wheel is repaired. It is amazing that these rail cars could roll all the way across the country, but cannot roll an additional 100 yards inside the distribution center to the unloading area! My dealer tells me that Chrysler has no influence over Union Pacific. I just have to wait till the rail car is repaired.

I sure hope none of you have a similar experience.

I think my dealer could get updates daily, you might want to check that if you are needing/wanting more updates. Their automatic updates may be weekly, but they CAN get daily if they go on-line.
  • goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
I have in-laws in Mira Loma about 2 miles from that distribution center... HUGE place, surrounded by high walls and razor wire, etc. Lots of trains in and out of there daily.

I'm sure they'd be glad to go over to the center and offer to drive your car over to Redlands! HA. Dad-in-law worked at a Salvation Army office in Redlands many years ago. Patience in always harder when you know it's so close!

I am getting ready to order my car. Can someone please tell me how I can track the car from the factory to the dealer?
  • greyfox1greyfox1 Member Posts: 28
Once your car has been made, your salesman will be able to get you an itinerary. Be patient after you get this. You are relying on the railroad, the rail yard where the train cars get parked prior to off loading, the over the road transport to the dealer, etc. With a little luck it will arrive on time otherwise "patience is a virtue".
  • charlesf4charlesf4 Member Posts: 20
With the information (itinarary)I get from the salesman, is there some place I can go on the Internet to follow the progress of the car? If so can you give me the web page?
    regards
  • greyfox1greyfox1 Member Posts: 28
If you are refering to a UPS or FEDEX type tracking system, I don't think there is anything. Perhaps someone else out there can furnish you with more info or again ask your salesman. He may know of something out there.
