If you have patience it's worth the wait. I have nothing but really good things to say about the people at the dealership. I know all people and experiences aren't the same. My thought on that is, find someone you feel comfortable working with. If they don't seem straight forward with you, go to a different dealer. There are lots of them around. I've read about how dealers have allocations. I don't know a thing about that but it might be an issue one could find out about before placing an order. I got a VON number within 10 days of placing my order so I'd suggest, get a VON number. Ask for answers. Be positive minded when dealing with people. It goes a long long way!!! It makes it easier for you to say no if you have to, instead of a no, no, no, attitude, which is a drone that, to me means more like yes at any cost. Just the way I see it and how a lot of sales people see it. After you negotiate your price, ask if you can get that price locked in. If they say yes, get it in writing. If they say no, go somewhere else. If they give you a price then they should stick to it. They'll be happy and so will you. More later and good luck. Like I said, it's worth the wait. If I figure out how to post pics I'll do so. More later. :-)
Thanks.
with all factory options in Cool Vanilla.
I was quoted 6 weeks by the sales manager at that time.
It has been revised every month since then.
Yesterday November 30th I was told that the factory had misplaced my order and that I would
have to start all over again.
Not a chance!
I will not be buying a 300c from dc.
If they are saying it was an error at the factory then I would demand to speak to the Chrysler District Manager. If it was a factory error then he should work with you to make it right. If it's the dealer screwing you over, then he should be made aware of that too.
Don't let this go without a fight.
It's better than I expected.
Dealer tells me that there are no more slots for the AWD for this model year and that I likely lucked out to get this one.
Overall the order experience really could not have been much better. Dealer has 5 300s in stock due to non-delivery. (main reason he said was 4 month order wait made buyers impatient)

"I have had a 2006 Chrysler 300C AWD on order from the factory since 2/05. The car is supposedly ready to assembled, but is now showing up on the "restriction sheet" with the date for assembly indicated as "TBD". My dealer cannot find out what this means, nor the reason for the delay. The Chrysler customer service rep to whom I spoke told me that she has received numerous calls on this issue and told me that apparently all of the 2006 AWD's are "TBD" and they have been given no indication as to why. She was as frustrated as I am. My conclusion is that they have discovered a problem with AWD. Anyone know the real reason?"
Your comment may very well be the reason. I would also appreciate hearing from others exprexperiencing same problem. I do not understand why chrysler will not share the reason with their own dealers nor customer service department.
I ordered my Silver Steel Metallic Limited on May 31st. Just called the factory for status and learned it is in D1 status with a July 21st estimated shipping date. So, it looks like it is running at about 8 weeks right now.

I just picked up my 2006 300c AWD Cool Vanilla, sunroof, Nav/w upgraded Boston, Walnut trim, Protection Group 2, U-Connect, Sirius, High Intensity Lights, from a dealer in Fairfax Virginia for $37,900.They were awesome to deal with.
Had one on order from Newberg, Oregon since 01/02/05. Got frustrated from the dealer with no answers. In mid June I found one across the country and bought it over the internet. AWESOME CAR..........
Get this...my car has not yet been unloaded from the rail car inside the distribution center. Reason given by Union Pacific is that the rail car (plus 20 other rail cars loaded with new Chryslers) has a damaged wheel and cannot be moved to the unloading area until the wheel is repaired. It is amazing that these rail cars could roll all the way across the country, but cannot roll an additional 100 yards inside the distribution center to the unloading area! My dealer tells me that Chrysler has no influence over Union Pacific. I just have to wait till the rail car is repaired.
I sure hope none of you have a similar experience.
I'm sure they'd be glad to go over to the center and offer to drive your car over to Redlands! HA. Dad-in-law worked at a Salvation Army office in Redlands many years ago. Patience in always harder when you know it's so close!
