If you don't fill it up before returning it, they charge $0.25/mile.. I'd pay that to just keep driving it, plus pay for the gas!

My crappy picture doesn't do it justice. Gray with Oyster interior/black carpets. Nice! Only thing it's missing is a stick-shift.

When I drove the X1 with the 28i engine (not the latest version that is in your loaner) I was shocked at quick it felt. They've come a long way with these 4 cylinder engines.

Seems a little quicker. But, that could have just been the "cool" factor.

@jpp5862 - come on out! Do you have a general sense of where you're going to end up?

front range stretches from Ft Collins to Colo Springs, about 120 miles.

Thanks @Michaell I'll most likely end up in Denver but that's TBD. I'll PM you when I'm coming out at the end of the month and we can try to grab lunch.
Denver is a big town. You mean the city of? Buying or renting? Housing prices went up double digits this past year. Rant, too, but they are starting to stabilize.

Perhaps when I'm back in town next week, we can have a call to talk about what's going on.

Let us know when you'll be in town -I'm sure @breld and I can find time to meet!
I'll be renting for now, my first choice is downtown Denver but I need to explore and figure all that out. Enjoy your trip and we can catch up when you're back, would love to meet up with you and @breld!
Renting in Downtown Denver? Well...may I suggest one of my company's fine examples:

    SkyHouse Denver

Or, if you like baseball, right across the street from the ballpark:

    Battery on Blake Street

And another option in a developing part of downtown:

    Hartley Flats
Thanks @breld, sent you a PM.

After 3 trouble free years, the '13 XF needs a little TLC. Currently at the local Jag dealer for:
-Post oil change, warning that the "Engine Oil Level Monitor System is Faulting," or to that effect, message. I've been told there's a TSB for that.
-Water pump is "weeping." I'd noticed a bit of anti-freeze smell occasionally lately, and have been adding AF to the expansion tank. Guess this explains it. But, warranty fix, thank goodness.

Have a loaner LR Discovery. It's OK, but I'm really just not an SUV guy. Got a ride in an XE, I'd definitely want a non-black interior. And, wood. A Jag should have wood. Nice exhaust sound when I was outside the car. Really felt tight, the driver was not pushing it hard, of course, though.

Interesting conversation with the SA, they've been wicked busy since Xmas time, a lot of cars in for service. Defending my marque, I said of course they were all LR products! Quietly, he said yes they were. Jags rarely come in for non-scheduled maintenance, LR rather frequently.

Also, a lot of new Jags on the lot, of course, mostly F-Pace and XE. Nice to see, but I'm torn; of course I want Jag to survive and thrive, but I also don't want them to become too ubiquitous. I like my somewhat XF exclusivity.

Henry, kill both birds together. Trade the ford for a ridgeline!

I do like the Ridgeline, only thing is you have to get one of the most expensive models to have a sunroof. I realize you don't want a sunroof so you can get away with the Sport or the equivalent of an EXL..can't remember the model designations which are different than the sedans.

Honda does that. Usually sunroof starts with the EX trim. Ridgeline could be different. I never really checked.

SDA, only ~33.5k miles on the XF. I bought it, literally, on New Year's Eve 2013 so it's got a year of warranty left. Also, I've had a very occasional groan on the electric adjustable steering column, I mentioned that to the SA. Woo hoo, a TSB on that too, and a new steering column to be put in, under warranty.

Love the car, but currently don't plan on keeping it too far out of warranty. So maybe a punch for me in '18. Sooner, if the dang state would pick the right six numbers... Want to buy another mid life crisis car (a la my XK), but what to buy...

The center console is bigger (wider) than the driver's seat, something I absolutely detest. What kind of idiot designer would do that?

Sounds like the truck I drove back in the '70s. It was a COE (cab over engine) Kenworth, and we called that thing in the middle the doghouse. State laws have changed regarding overall length, so there aren't any COEs around anymore, but they did serve a purpose in those days. For your vehicle, not so much. For the toy trucks (pickups, etc.) which are so much in favor these days it wouldn't surprise me for such a thing to be there, but for a car. . .

So a bit over 30k and it has something wrong with the oil indicator, needs new steering column, and the water pump is leaking. That would certainly make me nervous.

Q, makes me think. But the oil indicator issue is likely due to overfilling the oil. Even my shop (that changed the oil, I let 'em know that was likely the issue. Let's see what they do to make me happy...) thought that might be the issue, confirmed by the dealer. SA said the water pump has long been a problem in this engine, it was redesigned, not as much an issue anymore. Not sure if it "needs" a new steering column, but better to do it under warranty than later!

Still has been a totally faithful servant, but as mentioned, I don't plan to keep long after warranty goes bye bye. Of course, 4.5 more years of tuition and child support payments may crimp my mid-life crisis desires... :(

qb, I really like that A4. Same color scheme (navy over ivory) as the 2007 that I leased, although that is the newer body style. Not fond of the wheels on that one, and unfortunately, 2011 is before backup cameras became commonplace. Still, you could do a lot worse for $15k.

Really liked those chrome tips on your Jetta. Where did you get them as I might be interested in the same thing for my Golf. At this point, ain't nothing out there I'd trade it for right now to be honest. I know that's not what this forum is all about, but I honestly am enjoying my Golf that much. I look, all the time, but think I'm in for the long haul as long as nothing goes wrong in the next 50K to 60K miles. As much as I like the looks of the Mini Cooper Countryman, everyone is telling me to stay clear of any Mini as I won't be happy with one.
But I do like those chrome exhaust tips enough to want to purchase them also. Details...please!

P.S. That new android smartphone I bought on Amazon, the Nextbit Robin, turned out to be a dismal product and after just 4 days of use, it's been sent back to Amazon for a full refund! Dismal battery life and it got stuck in a voice mode that I couldn't get out of. Couldn't get it to go back to it's home screen so it was totally useless to me. Ended up with a cheap go phone and will live with it for a couple of years. Just couldn't spend big bucks on a top tier phone right now. A shame to because I did like the Nextbit Robin, a nice compact unlocked gsm device. The issues I had just made it impossible to keep...they need to fix the bugs out before I'd ever consider one again!
