@xwesx - it is a "regular" X5 that has been "badged" as an ///M car by its owner. Most likely an X-Drive 50i (still a turbo V8). It's owner is trying to fool the masses into thinking it is an X5 ///M. Also the vanity plate suggests it is a true ///M car.

IMHO, only an ///M car or ///M235i - ///M240i should have the badges. If you've got a really nice, ///M Sport Package BMW, then you are allowed an ///M License Plate Frame, but no badges.

The masses have no idea what that license means or what kind of vehicle it is. All I know is it would be a pair of Es in license plate poker.

Weight of the big block makes the 327 a better driver. Big block runs hot and notorious for overheating with stop and go traffic. Big blocks are restamped to fake numbers matching- there are more big block corvettes on the road then were produced

A FB friend in NYC took a pic of this she found on the street earlier this week and wanted to know if this look was de rigeur. The consensus was that it may be trendy but it is also unspeakably ugly. Can't say I disagree. Also note the bumper protector.

Funny thing; back in 1995 my Club Sport came with ///M badges on the side molding, as did the BMW accessory rear spoiler. I sometimes have people ask if the car has the "M3 Package."

Congrats on the GTI, I really like them. Does your insurance company charge you a surcharge for all the revised auto policies?

I think the matte wrap look was a thing a couple years ago, but might be played out now. It's kind of dbaggy, and definitely so on a Maserati.

Thanks!  Not sure about the warranty - i was under the impression that it was something exclusive to the Atlas.  

Funny how I wasn't concerned about the length of the warranty.

Funny - I was having the same thoughts about all the changes to the policies.

No surcharges as far as I know. My insurance agent is also my doubles partner for tennis, so maybe he gives me a break!

I posted about my son's search for a compact pickup and how crazy expensive 4wd rusty ones up here in Northern Vermont are.
He flagged this for me one, and even though a vehicle from south central Jersey is not considered a "southern" vehicle, it doesn't see the salt like ones up here do.
We did all of the negotiations and inspections remotely and it was delivered by open trailer at 9:00 pm last night.

I believe I posted pictures of it 3 years back when we had it fixed up (without him knowing) to be driveable for his Father's Day present.  Next time I go over there, I'll take the cover off and snap some shots for you.

The husband of one of my sister's close friends has a 2015 Maserati Quatroporte.  He let me drive it last week. All I can say is wow.  The biturbo V6 makes my Infiniti feel like my Legacy.  The interior is GORGEOUS!  The paddle shifters feel like they are made of solid steel.  Wow!  What a car!  Very big & comfortable too.  His lease is up in a few months and he ordered an Audi RS7.

That was my mother with respect to any question she asked me. And if for some reason she actually followed my advice it always ended up being wrong. Like you, I ended up refusing to offer any advice at all.

Upgrade the GTI with coil-overs, intake filter, exhaust, intercooler, engine tune, wheels, sway bars, and tires, and you'd have one fun FWD track monster. A lightweight battery and carbon fiber hood doesn't hurt either.

As I understand it you have 30 days to report a new car purchase on an auto policy. If you keep trading in your cars every 29-30 days, maybe you never have to call to insure it?

You buy a car in Jersey the dealer makes you call and add it right then.  At least that's been my experience
