I should have gotten an actual price on a Volvo lease. Maybe next summer, though would have gotten an S60 instead. Not as fancy, but more manageable size.

Hilarious discount on the Volvo, wow. Sounds like a deal. I've read of lots of S90 in fleets, so I suspect there's some leftover stock in dire need of selling. I'll take TTAC over Jalopnik for accuracy, anyway.

In Canada, the cars would have weekly payments ;)

True, though more likely bi-weekly, which seems to be the current standard. The same figures though. "Volvo S90, only $377* bi-weekly!"

I was worried about posting the NSX example because it might trigger @breld until I remembered he buys, not leases, his fleet. :p

    I saw the TTAC article.

The Volvo and Infiniti leases are crazy low, this month.

But, on the S90, be advised - these are assembled in China.

I agree I would not have a problem with where assembled, but isn't it just the LWB assembled there?

I think many or most S90 are made in China. Look for an "L" VIN. Sweden VIN is a "Y" prefix. I wouldn't worry about the quality - these things will be given rigorous QC, as they can't afford to botch this. I'd be more concerned about supporting the national/political system, if one votes with their wallet like that. But I suspect the car will be fine, especially in the warranty period.

That's good. Living in Canada, I have a long and traumatic history with British cars, which used to be very common here until the mid-70s.

Teasing me with cheap Volvo leases again I see.

So, finally got new car official. Went and got an inspection sticker put on. Good for 6 years now. Who keeps a car tha long?

And was disgusted by how dirty it got yesterday, so figured it was 43, might as well wash it. So I got out the equipment and gave it its first bath. Looks much better. And so easy to wash a smaller car that sits low. RDX is still filthy though. My hands are still icy so I think that one takes a drive through the touchless car wash. Gets the worst stuff off, and in 2 weeks it goes to the north country, and always comes home filthy from there.

Through a quick preliminary search, wiki tells me the standard length s90 is made in Sweden.

Tomorrow I've owned the Golf three years and will hit 37K. Probably could've done a three year 12K lease and only been over by 1K miles. My mechanic even said to lease and not buy. But since we've never done that, decided to just buy and see what happens. Hind sight is telling me I should've listened. Such is life I guess. Just hope it behaves itself for the next couple of years!!

Sandy, if you really think you should have leased it, then just go trade it in tomorrow. It will be exactly like you leased it. 3 years, and take it back, and get something new.

Sandy, you didn’t lease because you weren’t comfortable with it. Nothing wrong with that. You have a car you like and it’s worked out fine. If it starts to give you trouble, you’ll get rid of it. Don’t overthink!

Those lease examples were lifted from a lease hacking website that I follow. They're legitimate and I believe I saw actual scans of the deal sheets to support them.

If those leases are still subvented as heavily in a year as they are now it's going to be hard not to consider a lease on an XC90 even though we've only had one leased vehicle at a time.

@pensfan83 I’ve always been a fan of owning one car and leasing the other. But since discovering lease hacking, it’s hard to pass up the value proposition of a well-hacked lease.

I still regret not jumping on the zero down, $185/month lease on a Civic Si 3 years ago. That was a steal. And the current Volvo offers would be hard to pass up (wish I had known before I bought!)

I wanted to get out of leasing (and did with this car), but now not quite sure it was the right move!

I almost did a single pay lease on my wife's X3. Could have used the $9400 trade allowance and just written a check for $9000, and no payments for three years.

But, in the first ten weeks, she has put on 4200 miles. :o So, now I'm pretty glad I bought it.

Next time, I am seriously going to look for a lease to buy deal. The Volvo would have been great for that. Huge lease cash to get to a low payment, with a terrible residual (well, terrible for lender, good for buyer). Win Win for me. Basically buying at a huge discount, and deferring the DP for 3 years, while having 3 years of protection in case it is not something I actually want to keep.

Same priced (MSRP) TLX would probably cost $8K more to lease and buy out in 3 years.

took another step in my recent "rebuild" of the RDX tonight. Picked up a new cabin air filter and threw it in today. So nice clean air for our Xmas travel!

Just got the big ticket item left (getting new sneakers on it). Maybe Thursday this week. If we don't get too much snow.

Darned winter. Already screwed up plans Saturday for us, and now might get some more Friday when my daughter will be driving up from NC. I am really ready for spring to arrive.

Someone tell me this is a terrible idea.

I have a line on a 2018 Outback 3.6R Limited with EyeSight and Nav (MSRP $38,7XX) for 36/10, $297/month including 10% tax. Due at signing is first month, tags and doc fee - about $950. I also have a Subaru ambassador coupon which I could use to drop the payment to $281/month inclusive of tax.

We have been discussing the long term viability of the GTI and had no intention of holding it too much longer than next year. But it’s early. I’m balancing whether this is the kind of deal I should jump on.

    Thoughts?

Holy moly, that's a good payment, especially with the tax rate.

The 2018 has CarPlay, which is nice.

We don't have any incentive info for Subaru, but that's gotta be some big discount from sticker to get the payment that low.

@stickguy - I've driven the Outback a couple of times in the last few days. All I can tell you about the tires is that they are pretty quiet.

It’s 16% off list with an additional $500 off.

No question that it is a good deal. Question is whether it’s worth making a change in plans. Under this plan wife would take the Outback and I would start driving the X1.
