I have a strong desire to upgrade from the Elantra to a CPO TLX. I guess spending time looking for units for my sister got me hooked. I really love this one. Higher on miles though, but OK by me if the price was reduced to reflect that. I found the identical car in VA with 15K miles listed for the same price.
I thought the 2017 had carplay too. Not that big a deal though since it has Navi including real time traffic.
yeah, a 2018 will make sense. Just have to balance the depreciation equation (if the TLX will depreciate more in the next few months, makes sense to wait). Not being in a hurry helps, but I would not ignore a 2017 if there was enough price differential. Not really seeing that though based on these. If the 18s are at that price, the 17s will be getting downward pressure too.
just checked the local dealer (that has the red one). They actually have 3-4 of that same model (4 cyl tech) 2018s, miles around 5K, CPO listed at $28,999. So really not much higher asking than a 2017 with more miles.
drop the $ on the 2017 down to more like $24K, and might be getting something going though.
MSRP on the unit I have my eye on is $48,090. By the way, that email offer I got came from the SM.
Here is the reply I just sent:
It is pretty strong to start. May I ask what the breakdown of the $5250 is? I know there is $3250 lease incentive, or is Ally offering more than that? And what are all of the fees are involved?
As for the dealer discount, I was hoping for a little more. That is about a 12.5% discount, but I've been seeing folks claiming quite a bit more. Another $1,000 off would bring us to about a 15% discount and monthly just over $375.
I am also currently trying to get a code from truecar for an additional incentive. I don't know exactly what this is yet since their original offer was $1000 but then it dropped to $500, so I'm awaiting a call back from them.

daughter got gas this AM for the first time in almost 2 weeks in the Jetta. overall on the first tank was somewhere in the upper 30s. that was with a fair amount of local running around her new area and commuting.
on the trip back up to NJ last night (home for the weekend), she said the TC reported a little over 41.
Impressive MPG for a car this size. It is very roomy.
yeah, $300 doc. 595 acq. I didn't realize the $3250 is taxed. So, with that in mind, it is currently $391 sign and drive. Still keeping my fingers crossed on the truecar, BUT the wife is insisting we go tonight and she wants to drive me.

i just emailed the SM again to ask if we close tonight, when is the last date I can pick it up. Kids are NOT happy about a 6 hour drive right now, and I don't blame them. Still waiting on truecar. Getting near the time when it would be too late to go anyway. Unfortunately, I am booked up all weekend otherwise.
Oh, so I called the local dealer with the red/red unit. Theirs has a $700 lower MSRP. Was straight up and gave him all the facts, numbers, and current offer on the table. He checked with him SM, called me back and said "my SM says you should get in the car now and go get that car in Maryland." Ok, thanks for playing!

I've never had a real issue with factory nav. On my old E55, it was aged enough to where some local streets didn't exist. Now that I think about it, the nav in the rental Jaguar in Germany got really confused and took me to a seemingly random location once, but I kind of expected that.
you people are machines. Impressive to watch. this must be like standing behind the cage watching Mike Trout take BP.
Q, your place to Maryland on Friday of labor day weekend, could be iffy. Also, most dealers (that aren't the high volume churn places) at least near me close at 5 or 6 on Fridays.
leave at 6 tomorrow, be there by nine, be home by noon! the BBQ can wait.
I thought it was exciting that I decided to go out shopping this week. May stop this weekend since will be out with the wife and daughter doing stuff. Just to look. But, don't think I will be joining the Stelvio bandwagon. Though might stop anyway to see what all the fuss is about. Partly because I know that I will likely not come close to haggling a deal like that.
All this TLX looking (I think it is 50/50 I get a call from my sister tomorrow from the Acura dealer, meaning her "popping in to check them out" turned into a "is this deal good?" scenario) got me hepped up to get one. So will stop to drive a 4 cyl version again (make sure I like it), and compare a 2017 to a 2018. If they happened to have the right unit pushing my buttons, and could come in with a too good to pass up trade in offer, I would bite.
I think I will stay with a sedan, and hold off on a new CUV until we upgrade the wife's ride. The 2 that I really like are the TLX and S60. Both seem like good options. Reasonable cost/value, stylish, super comfy seats, and nice level of goodies. Wife will approve of either one. Need to stop and try a Volvo too though.
if I could find a killer deal on a V60, now that would be a great option. I love them, and could replace the RDX too!
no bbq tomorrow. but i've committed to a 4-day martial arts seminar, 12 hours a day. Wife insists I can't miss tomorrow morn. It is now too late to leave for MD and get there before closing (7pm). I may have to get it delivered at this point. We'll see. I asked the SM how long they'll sit on it after I sign everything but he has not responded. I got the congratulatory email from the salesperson who initially answered my email and a request for license and insurance, which I sent.

wondering how it would work out if I listed my Ford for transfer. I'd want some cash up front but it would still be a killer deal for someone. I did read, however, that Ford doesn't allow it with less than 10 mos to go?

Q, not sure why it matters. as long as the deal is done. if you could have it shipped up, what's the difference if they park it out on the back lot? You will own it either way.

Elite Acura has a big selection of new TLXs, including even a few 2018s. I bet they'd give you a nice deal on a new 2018 that has less than 50 miles on it, which imho would be better than getting one with 34,000 miles if you really think you might keep this car long term. And it seems better to lease a TLX rather than buy it because of the larger incentives on the lease.
If your sister wants CarPlay on a TLX I think that only became available for the 2018 model year.

I should have gotten the Tacoma. Came down to $279/month, with $281 DAS (24/12,000). Cheap!

Looks like you're getting FCA loyalty because of your Van, plus the aged inventory rebate, which gets you to the $5250. I do agree that you're close.
