I was looking back on old car photos to find my old 530i as I just wanted to visualize the difference between the standard bumpers and the M-tech ones on this one I’m considering.  Stroll through memory lane was fun.

Should have kept the 318ti longer.

Any thoughts on a fair to good price on the 530i?  I think @kyfdx thought $6,500 would be a good target.

So hard to peg a value on these - it’s all dependent on the right buyer (which I’d say I am, but not desperate).

The guides don’t get any higher than $5k-ish, but at the end of the day a nicer e39, much less a sport manual is so rare. And like it or not, this one does have the m5 wheels and m-tech bumpers.

He’s asking $7,500 but said there was room.  I’d love to be in the $5k’s but I imagine $6k’s will do.

All this is of course pending an inspection.

Very different genres, but interesting to think the 2001 Prelude I looked at a couple months back was around the same price.  Love me some vintage Hondas, but makes this 530i look very attractive.

Seems a bit pricey, given year and miles but perhaps negotiable.

Seems pricey at $7,500, $6,500?  All of the above?

Yeah, little hard to compare an e39 to the e60 I’d say.  Lots more tech and comfort, but not as desirable.  But fair point.

Thing is, its not like I’m seeking out some older BMW.   But a nice local E39 is an opportunistic thing.  I really just shouldn’t look at all.

Interesting color. No, alas, I cannot fit comfortably in a Boxster. My knees hit the steering wheel when I shift. I suppose I could drive the automatic, but not interested in that. Low miles on that one is probably driving up the price, and as I've mentioned, there is irony in that, as the IMS failure is greater on lower mileage examples.

    I like the color.

I have issues with lighter color Porsche interiors, though. The matching carpet color is just too much. I’d at least have to put black mats in it

That’s a competitive price for one?  Makes it even more insane that 5-7 year older examples will sell for $13-15k...

Yeah, seems he’s a bit too proud of that car.  Apparently he doesn’t really need to sell it.  I recall he had just been laid off when I test drove it.  Maybe he doesn’t have the funds right now to get what he wants anyway, so he’s just holding on to the higher price cause he still needs a car anyway.

At the mall, yesterday, Cadillac was doing a driving event for the new XT4. (Cadillac Detours).
    About a half-dozen of them.

From behind, they look bigger than they are, due to high beltline and sharp angles. You only get a sense of them being smaller from the side view.

Nice, though. They should sell well. Compared to an Audi or BMW, they seem to be an in-between size. Bigger than the X1 or Q3, but maybe just a little smaller than the Q5/X3?

I like the new XT4. My guess is that they will sell a lot of them....

Finally sold my iPhone 6s Plus today on "OfferUp", an app I used a few times. For some reason, was jerked around a bit the first time I posted it. Took it down for about 10 days and then re-posted it on Thursday and again, got a bunch of looky loos that asked questions and asked about meeting but that was it. Last night though, got one from a guy who acted serious. Went back and forth a few times and again this morning. Met him at the police station and handed it off to him. He had some issues with the pin # at first. Luckily my kid came and she told him what to do. He texted me at lunch about 20 minutes later, again having issues. Now, I know I cleared my stuff out of it and when he put his sim card in, it showed Cricket, his carrier, so we know the phone does work. Tell him to wait another 1/2 hour but connect it to his iTunes account in his computer. Again, texts back that somethings wrong.
Gave him what info I could as he already had my original box. Finally, get a text that all is well and it's indeed working with his number and Apple stuff. Damn, finally glad that's over and now I can use what he gave me for it. Luckily, have nothing else left to sell but I just might buy another case eventually. So glad this chapter is over!!

But they are biiigggg!!! Had to drive a couple last week and they are big, much prefer a Tahoe size if I have to drive a large vehicle! Many times, I have no choice but both of my lead drivers know that I'm not comfortable driving them so do try to give me any smaller vehicle if possible, which I appreciate. Why look for an accident...if someone feels more comfortable driving one, just give it to them instead if possible!

I probably missed a post or two, but what did you get to replace the iPhone 6s Plus? I'm kind of an IT nerd, but I'm still puttering along with my iPhone 6s. For security reasons, I'll probably pull the plug when they stop providing OS updates for it, or sooner, if they make something that offers me more functionality at a price I'm willing to pay.

I'm still happy with Mint Mobile as my cell phone provider. $15/month (annual payment of $180).

Something odd about that car. CARFAX says it spent its entire life in Kentucky, and has only driven 3,000 miles in 6 years--then suddenly appears last month in Arizona. And now it's priced $6,000 under market.

    I just don't know.

Do you get that much more $ than simply trading it in to Apple when you get a new phone? Me, I like the easy route. A 6s in good shape is a $100tradein at the Apple store. A 6splus is more.

I'm coming to the same conclusion. I've taken advantage of a lot of bank account opening bonuses over the past year. Most of them, you have to physically go to a bank, the teller sends you to meet with a banker who gives you a full-blown interview, then finally you get to open an account. You generally have to meet the other requirements and leave the account open for X number of months, then closing it again requires that you meet with a banker and fulfill security requirements. I didn't track my time. It's probably worth doing, but only barely. Not something I will jump at the chance to do in the future.

Of course, 100 miles away. yes, yes, I KNOW..."well, if you REALLY wanted it, you'd drive down there with a cash deposit, then arrange for a local PPI that same day, then negotiate a price, then go back down there a 2nd time with a check, and then flatbed it home"

    Guilty as charged.

Dad's 2002 or 2003 Beetle had heated cloth seats. I think it was a $300 or so option. We really appreciated it since it was a diesel and took a long time to warm up and generate heat from the HVAC.

My 2009 Tahoe has leather but it's not heated. :@ I may have an aftermarket heater installed on the driver's seat.
