Went to the lot yesterday with my cousin with the store multiple brands of new cars, there’s one side of the Chrysler lot where they keep all the keys in them, got to sort up a few SRT Durango‘s and grand Cherokees, they sound really good and a brand new ram hemi to I started up, and also when I started up some of the classic prior generation ones that they still sell. Also went to where they keep the Ford’s started up a big smile XL Ford F1 50 single cab seemed nice for what it was, start it up a few explore sports with the eagle    Boost engine, didn’t read any of them because they’re brand new cars, with no miles on them just a few test miles I would never do that. Also started up Nico boost gray F1 50 double cab, the raptors were open sat in it but was looking around we couldn’t find where they kept the keys for those, since it’s not push button start it’s an actual key, look in the center consul, they might’ve been in the glove box or something but didn’t look too hard. Ha ha ha also started up some escapes to, the edges surprisingly were all locked   I like last time when we went before Thanksgiving, we were able to start up a current GEN refreshed edge SEL. Those are the only two brands we went to this time. Oh also Sharon some other wranglers to, but window keys inside those, and the one challenger that was open was a purple color with a V-8 in it, but they left the keys, but the battery was dead unfortunately. That was a nice blue color charger and charger parked next to each other, think that light   The color was Paul P5 blue, the lighter blue but I’ve never seen before in person love them both. Also the purples sick too. That was all we did for an hour and a half yesterday afternoon. Luckily no one was around in the lot moving cars or anything, was just us there this time.

Oh one more thing, set an a nice white collared GT stick shift mustang, but no keys unfortunately started. I looked, because you know I definitely would’ve started that one.

Breld.  Yes it did, they don’t have much gas in the cars I think my cousin was tell me it was like 20 miles to empty or something on majority of them but it said. But you know we did rub those SRT Durango‘s a bit even though I didn’t do it with any other cars but it sounded so good. I think my cousin even made a video in the back either exhaust, also did the same with the grand Cherokee.

Same here, I'm disappointed they won't be at the Pittsburgh Auto Show and no telling when any might be in stock locally.

Well - yet another 7-8" of heart attack snow followed by ice hit last night into today. The roads around Seattle/Shoreline are the worst I've seen of anywhere I've lived in 20 years. Power is out all over the place (we went out for 4 hours last night and it has been off and on today). Trees falling.

I suspect it is going to take a good 3-4 days of rain and warm weather to clear this up.

    One for the record books.

Turned to rain in Bellevue by 9pm last night, now just a deep slushy sloppy mess. 4Matic plowed through it yesterday evening and this morning with little fanfare, just a couple spots where stopping wasn't instant, and going up a hill I could hear the system working. Seems 5-10 miles to the north or east, it is a different world. Co-worker lives out in the hills between Renton and Maple Valley. Looks like they got a foot last night, no power, stuck. Office is less empty than yesterday but still a ghost town.

Yikes. Not that you want to be out in that type of situation but as you noted at least you have experience driving in that type of weather. After Sunday I don't care what it does in Pittsburgh for the next 10 days, just need good weather as we're off to Mexico for vacation this year.

At 9 last night we were still snowing. They really messed up the rain changeover north of the city. We were laying in bed and could hear transformers blowing one at a time in the distance. I looked at the Seattle City Light website and after each pop could watch the outage count increase. Was fun until the pop knocked us out.

Snow forecasts here are hilariously difficult and imprecise. This one didn't seem so bad compared to the surprise blizzards (2008) and busts (every year) of the past.

My office looks out over 405/90. Traffic appears to be moving the speed limit, no doubt less than half normal volumes.

Told everyone about the buy bid from vroom last week on the Outback - $22,000.

Got another email from my dealer, suggesting I could lower my payment to $540/mo on a new 2019 Outback 3.6R Limited.

However, this one actually had the trade value listed - $20,325.

I replied that I had a buy bid in hand for $22K from an on-line vendor, but the wife and I are happy to keep our existing car.

Wonder if all this overallowing from vroom and Carvana will force the dealers to up their bids to stay competitive.

I wonder if the ongoing trend toward leasing is going to suppress used car prices? Why buy a 2-3 year old CPO car when for the same monthly you can have a brand new one?

There is a cause and effect relationship in there. Low cost leasing is based on high resale values for 3 year old used cars. If leasing were to drive down the resale values, then leases would become more expensive, and thus less popular, and ...

Yes bro, since you want available now, which cars going? And wealth all those open getting crazy snow fortunate with a little bit of snow and slushy stuff we got today was enough to be a nuisance, and it up staying home I’m just taking Lyft in the late afternoon to the gym and back home, but took longer than usual obviously because of the weather.

Absolutely.  And don’t forget, the 2-3 year old CPO car is still going to need some maintenance other than oil changes & tire rotations.  The 2-3 year old CPO car also depreciates (although not at a rate as rapid as new).  If you are going to make payments, it might as well be on a new car for a fixed depreciation amount, with as few maintenance dollars spent as possible.

Take my Infiniti.  I love the freakin car.  I put $3K down and financed it for 3 years at 0.99%.  My payments are $612 (& change) per month.  Yes I only have a little more than a year to
go to pay it off.  I’m also fast approaching the 50K mile mark (I’ve got 42K).  I’ve only done oil changes (every 7,500 miles) & a few tire rotations (plus my snow tire change over) plus a brake fluid drain & fill.  I’m going to have to have a coolant drain & fill, new brakes (every time the stability control light flickers, that’s eating brake pads), transmission fluid, differential fluid, plus new summer rubber sooner rather than later.

Right now I’ve got about $4K positive equity.  I put $3K down.  So that leaves me with what after putting the maintenance into the car?  Depreciation on a monthly basis is still pretty steep.

Could I find something I like as much as my infiniti for less than $612 per month that includes 20K miles per year?  I’m sure?  What about $512 per month or $412 per month ($0 cap cost reduction)?  I’m sure I could.

Right. I sold two cars to them and was pleased with the amount received.
The last two bids were too low and I sold one car on consignment and just bargained harder for a better trade in value for the other.

I looked at the Seattle City Light website and after each pop could watch the outage count increase. Was fun until the pop knocked us out.

I put a generator transfer switch on my gas furnace and my parents bought me an Energizer inverter generator as an early birthday present. With that and a few extension cords, I can run heat, refrigerator, TV, internet, and a lamp or two. Pretty much all the essentials except hot water (unfortunately, mine is electric, and would take a very large generator to power).

One of my coworkers lives in one of the wealthiest areas of the city and state and lost power for 24 hours a few months back, so having a backup gives me some peace of mind. I'd consider something more comprehensive in terms of a larger generator and a whole house transfer switch, if I lived in a rural area where it was common for power to go out for days at a time. As it stands, I have the generator and a two gallon tank from which to refuel it, which should last a day or two. Beyond that, I'd have to drive the Tahoe to the closest operating gas station to get more fuel--probably not a big deal since I'm in the city.

I am probably due for a brake flush on my G37 (I think they recommend every two years), definitely due on the Tahoe (GM recommends 10 years, which is scary long). I'm not worried about the transmission or diff.

I'm thinking when I eventually replace the Tahoe, if I got something like an F-150, I'd probably drive the G37 even less than I do now. If the Ecoboost will do 0-60 in 6 seconds or less... ;) It's already looking like I won't be able to drive the G on my trip to Omaha this May. I have a dentist appointment the following Monday and will probably drive the Tahoe to pick up my dog from my parents (who live near the dentist's office).

I think I've come out okay, so far, on buying the (very) used Tahoe. Bought it at a fair price from a private party and it's only had a few maintenance needs. 20 months later, it's worth about $3,500 less than what I paid for it. We'll wait and see on the Infiniti.
