So since we may or may not be entering a new decade, let’s all think back and see if we can remember January 1, 2010. What vehicles were in your stable at that point in time?

The same Acura TSX I'm driving now. My wife's Pathfinder, which we had in 2010, had to be replaced with the Forester, through no fault of its own. This is why I don't really belong on here, but it's interesting to see how the other half lives.

Dude, it's OK. I'm still here for you.

I miss having a stick too though. Especially embarrassing since my name is not "automaticguy". Part of my long range plan. step one, get wife into a nice fancy new car that will become our go everywhere car. Step 2, turn the lease back in on the TLX. Step 3, profit get myself something interesting, with a stick. Either a toy (like the Prelude boys have) and an inexpensive DD, or a real car that could be a stick. The 2 for 1 option sounds good though!

You had a Gen3 SHO? How was it? That car needed its cams welded, IIRC correctly.

My Dad had a Gen 1 and Gen 2 SHO and ultimately left because of the failure rates on the Gen 3.

At Y2K I was several years from having my learners permit...buuuut...we had a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th Anniversary, a 1995.5 Audi S6 Avant, and a 1993 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon.

    @28 firefighter,
We had the first 3 generations of SHO's.
Had the Gen 3 for about 7 years, no engine problems.
Got traded for a SAAB 9-5 wagon. That had problems!

2000? Let's see, that was probably the 1995 Mystique (V6, 5 speed) and the 1999 Quest. The Mercury was shortly to be sold (later in 2000 I think) for 1998 Maxima SE 5 speed. The '2000 Miata arrived later (November 2003)

1/1/2010 was 4 days before son #2 was born. So I was driving my beater 190E with 160k miles back and forth to the hospital during blizzards and the wife would have had the mazda5 by then. I’d have to refer to my spreadsheet to figure out any others. Could be the Alfa Spider was still with me at that time, and maybe the wife’s 325is vert.

I can do the primary cars off the top of my head but would have to research to nail down exactly when the few toys (Miata, Integra) came and went, because they did not stay long.

I wanted one of those so badly! A ‘98 actually. I was at the dealership almost ready to sign the purchase agreement when I noticed it had the “wood trim” installed by the shifter. I didn’t want it and they wouldn’t take it off or find me another 5-Speed car without it, so I walked.

39 vehicles, one might even be for me, but now with a wedding on the horizon, might just push it back to 2021. But would love an even numbered year vehicle! 2021 would be the second year for them all, so wouldn't be breaking my rule about first year vehicles again!

Hey, it's 3:40 am and I can't get back to sleep!

    1990
    '88 Toyota FX hatch
    '85 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

The Cutlass was a blue vinyl top over a white body with a blue cloth interior. I must say, when cleaned up, it was a looker! My in-laws got this for my wife once we had one and another on the way. Her 1982 Buick Skylark coupe was just getting to hard for my pregnant wife to deal with anymore with the kids seat. Our oldest was not even quite a year old. I was the only income for the house then and her being an only child, hey had mercy on us and surprised her one day and came home with this. We tried a Delta 88 first, but was just too big for my wife. Once they got her to agree to the color, the Cutlass showed up. Great vehicle for us at the time as she refused to drive a minivan and I wanted a small vehicle due to our garage issue, still dealing with that today! Best thing was, they covered the insurance so all we had o insure was mine. nicest folks one could ever meet to!

Had to drive a large Ford F-250, too big for me. Just like in a base Silverado, I couldn't get the seat moved up for a comfortable position. A power seat is so much easier for me to adjust since I'm not that tall. For some reason, my lead doesn't give me the Colorado size pick-ups he knows I prefer. But since I took a new guy under my wing on Tuesday and made sure he got back to where we were supposed to go, maybe he'll give me better vehicles but, not counting on it. I remember being a newbie and so lost at times, so I have no issue showing the new folks where to go. He got lost a couple of times because he didn't follow me that closely so just pulled over and waited till er showed up. He made one move which I don't know why and ended up going left when we were going straight. Just pulled over and about 5 minutes later, I see him coming. Naturally, we were the last one's back and the others were waiting, as they all wanted to go home. Was New Years Eve so I got it but hell, the Florida Turnpike had a lot of traffic going from Pt. St. Lucie down to West Palm.
Working our day off today to make up for yesterday and was asked to work Sunday also. Not volunteering for Saturday at this point, but if asked, I just might.

I drove that car off the showroom floor in Edmonton with 3 miles on it. Drove it 224K miles until it tangled with a Suburban. Loved it, except for the miserable emissions stuff, most of which I took off or disabled, including putting on SU carbs from a '72. Good times!
