A friend just leased a Kia Niro EV. So I guess it’s still possible. He did test drive it. I think all the paperwork happened online.

They will bring it to you to test drive.

If I hadn’t bought already and was temporarily down a car like I should be, I would be paying way more attention!

Kia had either 0% interest up to 84 months or $4,000 on the hood of the GTS. I think now they might be able to be combined.

Between working from home and not being able to take road trips for the foreseeable future, I will probably have to deliberately drive the Tundra 1,000 miles a month if I want to use up my mileage. The poor G37 sits in the garage connected to the Battery Tender!

I need to unearth the TLX one day this week and go drive it for 1/2 an hour or so just to give it some exercise.

Just because I'm a little bored and we're now in required stay at home/stay safe mode (although we have been for the last 2+ weeks anyway), I've updated the cars I've owned list (as best as I can remember). It represents 50+ years because I bought my first pick-up when I was 14 for $400.00. Where I lived was rural back then and it was used to muck the family's horse stalls.

There is definitely a glut of inventory out there of cars (for now). Between the 0% interest and deferred payment carrot, there could be some excellent bargains out there. All dealers open will start "home delivery," so no need to sit with the finance guy and hear his line of BS.

Some interesting RODO deals that I've seen:

2020 Honda Civic Si Sedan $25,930 MSRP
    $244 per month
    36/12K $244 DAS

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo E $37,495 MSRP
    $384 per month
    24/12K $384 DAS

Nice, envy-creating list, SB55. '78 VW Scirocco was my first ever (used) car purchase; and a good one!
In my 44 years of licensed driving, I've only purchased 8 cars for myself; 3 for ex-wife and 1 for my son.
I'm a constant car shopper, I've just not figured out the personal economics of actually buying...unfortunately.

I do seem to be fixated on a '20 Jaguar XE (I guess I'm a Jag guy until there is no Jag), but know not the when. It is a great ride, I know it's not the overall best car in its class. But, I dig rarity... I'll keep an eye on deals, currently $2k consumer cash to 3/31, perhaps more to come?

well, this is aggravating. Hyundai took forever to reply to my request only to say "you have to call us." And their phones haven't been working all day. Meanwhile, Carvana offer is expiring today. I have sent Carvana a message requesting an extension, and I've sent Hyundai Finance an email asking why they can't provide a payoff letter via email, especially since their phones aren't working. Can you sue a finance company for causing a loss of sale? ;)

well, just resubmitted the RDX, out of curiosity. I got about 14,300 on trade (the Carvana quote when I made the deal). By the time I picked up the new one, that 7 day had expired so I reran it, and it actually went up to 14,450 (this was on 3/12).

today, same miles, they offered $11,380. So yeah, the market is cratering. Might be an interesting time to buy, but not if you have to trade to make it happen.

The values are cratering for now because auctions are all shut down and there is very little to no supply chain moving cars around right now. I'm expecting that'll rebound and then some after all of this blows over.

Really liked the new RDX I sat in on Friday, a bit nice on the interior. The TLX was nice also but was disappointed with the ILX to be honest, a bit too low for ingress/egress. They had some folks waiting on service and one lady looking at the RDX but that was it. While there, two other Enterprise drivers brought in just sold vehicles. One was from the south Broward area and the other from Miami.
Haven't driven now since Sunday but need a lottery ticket so will venture out around 9 or so to pick up some and get some petrol. With my fleet card, can go to Cumberland Farms and get regular for $1.89. BJ's & Costco are both down to $1.75/gallon of regular but our BJ's expired December 31st. Only need about a quarter of a tank since I drive so little but will top it off. Our old friend came for dinner and to have her taxes done last night and I saw her 2018 Hyundai Elantra Limited and liked it. When she left, it was dark out but when she opened her front door, a light came on next to the door handle. Kinda nice for a low end economy vehicle almost four model years old. Like that model Elantra much better than the current one as does she, so she's putting off purchasing a new one. Told her to check out the Forte just for comparison.
Saw my first Kia Seltos commercial yesterday and really liked it. Just the wrong time for me to do anything to be honest, the wrong time. Starting to think the end of the year might be the right time if I do buy this model year but seeing what happens when things get back to normal might be a good time to. Will be interesting to see what kind of financing/rebates/maintenance freebies will be offered to move iron off the lots. Could be very interesting to be honest but that itch I had the last couple of months has gone away with all this new nonsense. And truthfully with the small amount of miles I'm putting on the Golf right now, just seems a bit foolish to get rid of it, since it ain't giving me a lick of trouble. Still am looking online as still need to try a GTI as I know it'll fit just fine.

not really. I was about to take the high offer when the local guy got back to me the next day so I did not finish the Carvana process. If I had not bought the new one, the old one would have gone, and we would be sitting here with 1 car getting no use instead of paying for 2. then at some point (May most likely) would have dealt with a replacement.

but yes, it probably could work out better doing it then vs. waiting and doing both parts later.

not surprised. they probably don't really want to be dealing with private seller purchasing right now anyway, and most likely have a decent supply piling up anyway.

Hopefully at least by May we can start going about normal life again. Get up to NY to see family, wife back to the office, and general activities. Finally use at least one of the cars enough to enjoy it!

That's interesting, @kyfdx. A dealer up here told me 2007 or newer to qualify for loyalty.

I do need to join BMWCCA, though. Two currently in the garage.

He and I were both surprised.
I think the loyalty rebate from BMW NA is a bit of a moving target; I know one time I didn't qualify and I had 3 BMWs in the garage...
