Hoovie's brick is up for sale by the guy that bought it previously. I would love a manual Volvo turbo wagon. I would leave the wrap on, just to annoy my wife.
I love that era of Volvo. Might be because my mom drove a 1993 Volvo 940 Turbo wagon (brick) for 10 years. My Dad sold it right before I got my drivers license. I wasn’t happy - was hoping to make it mine.

My wife leased a 1991 740 Turbo; it was pretty quick for its day. I victimized a few contemporary V8 ponycars with it. It was lots of fun. I lost interest when Volvo went FWD/AWD and the moronic 112 speed restriction was the final nail in the coffin for me.

I still love them. Would have to be AWD, of course, and I'd always have to factor in the price of a tune to remove the limiter.

Q7 in the shop? I know the current Q5 2.0t is different than our Q5. We are getting 24 mpg overall, 22 locally, 29-30 mpg on long interstate type trips. Premium, of course. It’s a great overall driver.
Yes. There was an issue with the DEF tank system were it was not transferring the fluid to the secondary tank. As such, I could only fill about two gallons of DEF at a time, which means more frequent "you're low on DEF" warnings! When I had it in (in February) for that, I also mentioned that it was (still) leaking oil, and it seemed to be getting worse. That issue is something called an "upper sump assembly", and apparently they must remove the engine to do the repair.
I dropped it off in Anchorage on August 18; they said, "we will likely need to keep it overnight." I said, "I suspect it may be longer than that, so I'm going to head home. Just call me when it's ready and I'll be down the next morning." Three days later, they said the DEF system was back in order, but they would not be able to work on the oil leak for a few days. After a little haggling, they told me just to keep the loaner and they would call me when they have the Q7 ready to go.
Happily, all of this is under the extended settlement warranty! Otherwise, all of this would be about $8,000 out of pocket.

It's only within the past year or so that certain 2.0T Audi engines can use regular gas. Our 16 Q5, Premium recommended.
I was going to note something similar: the Q3 stated "premium recommended." The Q5 doesn't have anything like that on the cap cover, though. It just says "premium fuel 91-93."

I enjoy some of the VINWiki videos where they discuss events during/surrounding Cannonball attempts. I like that they tend to have a strong safety focus, and even talk about shunning those that disregard this aspect when making such attempts. It just goes to show that, while there is inherent risk in driving fast(er), it does not mean there is any disregard for safety. In fact, in most scenarios, I suspect there is a far stronger focus on safety than any of the other drivers on the road simply because they recognize and appreciate the risks involved (both now and for the future of the "sport").

Holy Cow! I'm glad I sprung for the extended warranty on the Q5, though it was expensive. I was tempted to pass but my wife strongly reminded me of my past experiences with German cars and said she didn't want it if it didn't have a warranty. She won.

I’ve had the minivan past that, loaded down with luggage and a roofrack full of stuff. I’d rather have the capability and not use it than want it on an occasion and not have it.
I never go that fast without a “rabbit” at least a quarter mile ahead of me to trigger the traps.

If it was on my dime, I would not have either of these issues fixed at this time. However, since it isn't, and I was never given the choice to keep or do the buyout, I guess I'll make them pay.

That was one of the problems I had with my previously leased Malibu 2.0T. While the engine was smooth and lively premium was "recommended". The 60 to 90 cent extra cost per gallon translated to up to a 5 mpg penalty compared to a vehicle using regular. I am very happy with the regular fueled NA V-6 in our current Buick that actually costs less to run than the smaller Malibu.

If the sheeple accept 112 mph I predict that the Gothenburg [non-permissible content removed] will cut their cars back to a top speed of 90 mph or less in a few years. I’m not going to fund their efforts.

We finally got the Mini back; the A/C leak and the O2 sensor issues were the consequences of shoddy work from an indie shop that the PO had used. I’ll bet it’s the same shop that kept my coworker’s Cayman for three weeks and made a royal mess of things.

I’m surprised it’s not governed. The Enclave won’t go past 107. We’ll at least that is what I’m told......
I think you'd have to be into the cars to really get into it.
I've toured the MB factory at Sindelfingen three times, and AMG once - it'd probably be a pretty cool place to work, especially when new models enter the range or if you get to rotate into different model lines. But you'd have to be interested in the cars to begin with.
I've toured the BMW Manufacturing plant in SC several times; a couple were during press intros of new vehicles- those tended to go into more detail than the regular tours.

speaking of BMWs from S. Carolina, this is very attractive. My favorite color combo I think. Even an S drive (so unlikely to sell up here, and certainly overpriced), but pretty basic on options.

I've visited the BMW facility in SC and MB in AL as well. I've been to the BMW Museum and BMW Welt in Munich, but no factory tour there, nor others aside from MB. I tried to do Skoda in CZR, but couldn't get a booking. Oh yeah, I visited a F series truck assembly line in Detroit, too.

IIRC, it very slowly climbed past 105 or so, and I can’t say with any confidence that I saw more than an indicated 115. This was quite a long time ago, and in the dead of night on I95 somewhere in the SC/NC area.

I had the Q7 up to 105+ or so one time while performing a passing maneuver. Traffic was traveling at about 75 in a SL80 zone, two lane, long straight stretch. I was originally planning to just pass a couple vehicles ahead, but there continued to be no oncoming traffic, and nobody else was passing, so I just continued. When I was three vehicles from the front (I had already passed a dozen or more), I could tell the road sloped away ahead of me, and I couldn't see beyond that, so I popped it up a bit to finish the pass more quickly.
It seemed there was plenty of acceleration left, as it jumped up to those speeds quite rapidly.

Is there a statute of limitations on speeding infractions? Hope so. I took the Stinger up to 115 MPH on an I 275 run about a month after I got it. Stable as a rock.
Time moves faster as you get older, which I guess explains why Hyundai is rolling out a refreshed Kona. It seemed to me it just hit the market a short time ago. Ah well.
Actually two of the changes make it far more appealing to me. I always found the black plastic cladding on the Kona to be jarring, especially in combination with certain paint colors, so the ability to get one all in a single body color is welcome. And the engine option giving 195HP sounds like it resolves another sore point.
The Kona always had the 1.6t engine option. Maybe is was 175hp? The slightly detained version from what my sport Elantra had, but still quick for that class

Plus, it's a TDI, so probably still getting about 35 mpg.

I still find the extra taillights in the bumper a bizarre and unnecessary addition, but at least they aren't multicolored this time. If the transmission is any good, the N-line could be interesting. Here's hoping for a sub-6-sec 0-60. I know, I know, that's a huge stretch.

0-60 experience (sort of a drag strip kind of thing)
Follow BMW pro driver on the actual track (I would have picked this)
Autocross course
Autocross was the only one left (which I've never done).
I expect to suck at it, but on the plus side? All vehicles are new BMW M2 competition coupes!
