Agreed. I have always liked their stuff but never pulled the trigger.

Acura offers great value for the money. I
like the looks of the TLX a lot, but it’s too big for my tastes- and whatever replaces the 2er needs to be RWD.

Yeah it’s too much of a grocery getter for you. I like the size. A little bigger than my S60 but smaller than a true full size sedan.

@tjc78 - my parents have had three Volvos. Reliability is better on the newer models, but not perfect. The dealer service department was consistently mediocre—it really would have improved the ownership experience if they had tried a little harder.
My wife had a 740 Turbo in the early ‘90s. I can tell you for a fact that customer satisfaction was never a priority for the service department. We ended up taking it to Beechmont Volvo in Cincinnati.

It would probably end badly, but if I actually wanted an AWD sedan I’d likely pick up the leftover 2020 Giulia that my Alfa dealer has listed for $8,000 off of MSRP.

I liked my 2014 228i quite a bit, so an update with all the current BMW features and tech would be welcome - basically my Supra but in a more mature style.

I’ll let you know when I get the dealer ordering info. My wife is urging me to order one and get exactly what I want. I’m definitely going with Thundernight; I’m also getting the Premium Package, Cooling and Higher Performance Tire Package, adaptive headlamps and H-K. No sunroof delete will be a deal killer.

I’ve heard that the 2019 and up Giulias are fairly reliable. I’m not sure about my local dealer. I’m at the point that I don’t want any hassles with service, which makes sticking with BMW a safe bet.

"Actually, the decision to bring the Integra was made about six years ago, Ikeda confesses. He would not say what platform it uses, where it will be built, or much other detail. But it is expected to be electrified to some extent—that is the future of Acura. It will likely be a hybrid as opposed to a pure EV. And it will be fun to drive, which would be appropriate, given the Integra's historical DNA....
The new Integra should bring people into the brand, both new customers, and the nostalgic. "It will live up to the hype," Ikeda notes. The new Integra is not a replacement for the discontinued Acura ILX compact sedan, the brand chief says. But it is an addition to the existing lineup that does seem to fill the segment gap with a much more exciting entrant."
I imagine the base version will compete fine with the likes of the A3, 2-series GC and A-class variants at a nice price point, but it'll be interesting to see how a Type S version competes with the 4 cylinder sport sedans like the 330i.

Acura will probably produce a small number of 2022 ILX sedans during the last few months of this year. Sales of the ILX have actually held up pretty well because of its good price. The ILX can go 0-60 in about 6.6 seconds according to C & D, and right now I'm not thinking of other cars that start at $26,500 that can do that.
My guess is that the new Integra will start at around $30,000. With the Tech package, 2.0T engine, and SH-AWD it might be around 40k?

Pull over.... likely made up for by speeding over 200 miles; let alone 1200 miles. Most cops only take about 15-20 minutes of your life away at most these days only counting the pullover time, but I wouldn't know about that.
You said it “some” people.

Windshield is replaced. A very expensive way of finding I should have sprung the $95 for Gorilla Glass from the factory rather than doing it the second go around…
… Solomon (1964) found that drivers who drove either significantly above or below the prevailing average traffic speed were more likely to have crashes than drivers who drove at speeds close to the average. However, most crash-involved slow drivers were turning at the time of the crash; and when turning vehicles were removed from the analysis only those driving at speeds significantly above the traffic speed remained over-invovled in crashes (Fildes and Lee, 1993)
A/C update (for those that care): New air handler was installed today. Upon removing the old one, they noted it had a date code from 1986. The condenser was replaced sometime in the early to mid 2000s.

Is it working? Would be a good time for that.
I’m sure it’s working but is it moving the air better than the old one which means the house should be more comfortable.
Give him some time to report back in here. If the system is better than before he’s probably smiling ear to ear basking in comfort and doesn’t have time for us. We’re the last folks on his mind right now.

I hope he and his family are enjoying their new better AC system.
Temps here the last few days have been in the upper 90's.
You are a home improvement guy.
One of my kids is getting their kitchen remodeled plus floors refinished.
Asked for a video tour of the kitchen.
I said, Is that the same dishwasher? 'Yes".
Does the door still make the same squeaking noise when you open and close it? "Yes".
My son in law has tried to fix it multiple times.
Me, buy a new one and put in on a credit card so I can pay the bill.
It makes no sense to get a new kitchen but keep the worst thing about it.
Only the new air handler was installed today. Tomorrow they will install the Condenser. Our last night of this.

If it’s still working and isn’t banged up it is probably better that what can be bought today.
A little bit of lube in the right place and it’s good for another thousand loads.

Maybe call the new CUV the Acura ILX2
My son in law is a pretty handy guy, but hasn't been able to fix the dishwasher door squeak after several attempts over a couple of years.
When we are there, I usually take care of the dishes after a meal.
I personally hate that D"mn thing, so I'll be happy not have to listen to that squeak ever again.

"Notwithstanding the many studies over the years, in testimony before the Ohio Senate Highways and Transportation Committee on June 10, 2003, Julie Cirillo, Former Assistant Administrator and Chief Safety Officer for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), testified that "up to the present time there has been no evidence to alter Solomon’s original finding that variance from the mean operating speed is a major contributor to accidents"
Seems to me it would serve you to read all the research and know when to throw out the "Australian" junk and propaganda like Julie Cirillo did.
That was very nice!
