I was looking around CL to see what my 19’ Kia Soul+ might be selling for. I paid $18,200 new in 2019 and it seem they’re retailing used ones for $19-21k with 50k or more miles.
It’s identical (color included) to mine except it has 3X more miles and of course, it’s wrecked. Why would anybody pay that kind of money for a cheap little car?

Farmer, on the Soul, they will never get that. even at today's inflated prices, you couldn't fix it cheap enough to be able to make a profit I bet. Plus it will still have the salvage title.
Man, I thought my attention span was all over the place! Eagle is an interesting novelty piece, but my guess, once the novelty wears off (2 days?) and you realize how crude and uncomfortable it is to drive, you will regret buying it.
here is an interesting unit. Love the color, too bad it doesn't have the brown or tan guts. But, a sport model with RWD. Don't see many non-X cars around here. Probably the reason it actually has a reasonably good discount.
even has non-RF tires on it. Which I like, but only if they included the spare tire kit, which I assume they did not so maybe it has a can of fix a flat and an inflator pump.

but definitely a car 30 years ahead of it's time!
I really should first focus on saving up for another 3-car garage. I want ALL the cars! Check this one out!

this is extremely cool. Somebody spent a lot of money on this puppy. Though it could be a problem getting registered in NY or NJ with no emissions system. must be a hoot to drive.

I really have to hold out when we move for extra garage space. Or make the wife happy and get a bigger lot for privacy, but only if it means there is space to put up a 2nd garage! Though I would be fine most likely with a 3 car attached. But those are rare on the resale market. especially if trying to stay on a budget.
never saw a 146 like that before. It is cool. I would imagine it is a nightmare to find parts for though.
Car Wizard just put up a shop update video. One car that has been there a long time is a later Alfa sedan (I forget which model). But, it is because of having a terrible time trying to get even relatively basic parts, that often have to come out of some weird place like Latvia.
I like oddball cars, but not that kind of hassle. Reminds me of trying to get parts for a 1975 Opel Manta, and that was in about 1983.
Between the Civic Si, Integra, WRX, & the GR86/BRZ coming in around the $30K mark this might be the last hurrah for enthusiasts looking to purchase or lease a fun, affordable car from the factory. With many auto makers pledging to move toward electrification I'm sure low volume, stick shift vehicles will be the first to get the chopping block.

Yeah, these were not know to be screwed together even from new. Nostalgia is a powerful thing though! That would probably wear off after a week, if I’m honest.

I never actually owned an 8 track. My old cars (a 67 and a 73) both only had AM radios. I did add an FM converter to the Duster. That was hot stuff back then!
My mother's '72 Lincoln had an AM/8-track stereo. No FM. My first new car was a '77, and it went straight to the stereo shop for a Pioneer Supertuner w/8-track. I didn't have a car with a cassette deck until 1990. And, never bought a cassette. Straight from 8-track to CD.
You were a technologically forward thinker….skipping cassettes altogether.
I think I had a cassette in my car all the way through the early ‘00s. Still have some cassettes that were mix tapes. Matter of fact, I still have a cassette recorder/player in my audio rack. I record music from YouTube on it.

I’m getting ready to break mine out. Have a ton of mix tapes and some DJ mixes I want to listen to.
In the early 90s I was a big JVC fan when they came out with the titanium colored series. So I have a receiver, tape deck and just acquired CD player that all match. I want to set that up with the B&W 610s (surround duty in theater now, soon to be replaced with smaller more easily wall mounted units) with my Klipsch 12” sub. Should be a nice music only rig.
I have a problem….
Oh and that JVC turntable you have would be a nice match… lol
I have the tape deck still but got rid of my motley collection of cassettes a long time ago. Plus I was an early adopter of burning CDs so I have a lot of mix ones of those.

My '77 LeMans 2-door came with just a Delco AM radio. In the early '80s I swapped it out for an AM/FM/cassette deck I got at Sears. Best thing I can say for it was that it usually worked.
The next car, the '85 MR2, came with a Toyota/Fujitsu Ten AM/AM stereo/FM/cassette stereo. But only 2 speakers. Not the greatest setup. Also, 2 of the head units were replaced under warranty while I owned it.
Up next, the '90 GTI with whatever was standard in those, also AM/FM/cassette. It came with 4 little Nokia speakers, I believe 4'x6", that were subpar.
By the time I got to my 2002 Intrigue, it had both a CD player and a cassette. But that was the last one with that feature set.
Sound systems in cars were really hit or miss in the 80s. IMO Ford had some of the better options. My 89 Town Car had the JBL option and it would hold its on against some premium systems today.
66 Mustang had the factory AM unit and I never changed it. Didn’t want to hack the dash.
89 Beretta came with an AM/FM unit as it was a ex-rental unit. Swapped in a GM cassette deck and later added a CD player and new speakers. Kenwood first, then a Clarion as (like most of them of that era) the skipping on the KW was almost constant after a few years.
95 Tacoma had both CD and cassette as did the 98 Explorer that followed. After that I think everything has been CD only.
I have to say the Alpine system in the Jeep absolutely rocks. High school me could have blasted some Def Leppard and Poison.

My frat brother put in an FM converter in my '67 Olds Cutlass Supreme back in December of 1973 the night before we drove from New Orleans back home to Lauderdale. Was finally great to have FM radio though it wasn't stereo. Since it didn't have a cassette player, it was just nice to hear decent music on that long drive. My frat brother knew what to do since he had the same set-up in his vehicle and all it cost me was for the equipment and a dinner out.

My mom traded in her '70 Caddy drop top for a '72 Lincoln coupe and it had an AM/FM combo but nothing else. Big sucker to be honest and even longer than the Cadillac. Think she preferred Cadillac's over her Lincoln's to be honest but her'66 with those suicide doors were killer! Luckily, the business paid for her two year "rentals" as they called it back then, so she always had a very nice vehicle to drive. My dad liked two-door vehicles like his Corvette, Riviera and his Toronado's.

I read your comment Looks like a lot of the repairs done to that ML mirror what you've experienced. I am a bit surprised so many issues at relatively low miles. My thinking of higher mileage is 150K+. Of course 30 years ago it was more around 100k, lol.

now this, IMO, is the way to do a resto mod. I love it, even the colot. Very authentic looking, but all the modern capabilities you want to be able to use it. And not at all overdone. I guess this is about as close to a modern 1969 as you can get!
