Interesting article on how Ford is able to sell the Maverick so cheaply. Some of the conclusions are challenged in the comments though, so draw your own conclusions. I might want to get the underside sprayed for rust though.
The Golf came home today as good as new. New coolant and the hood strut taken care of. There were two codes showing it seems. The third cylinder was not firing properly and since I had never changed out the spark plugs, that was done and, no more light. Bill came to almost $400 but drives great now. The other code had to do with a tranny problem he's maybe seen a couple of other times. Seems that sometimes, the tranny has no idea what mode it's in. When he attached it all to the computer, it showed it was shifting properly each time. But, since it's such a rare thing to happen, he said to just drive as normal but don't shift down to "N" when coasting to a stop, something I never ever do. Just hope we have no more issues for a long while as it's staying in the herd for awhile longer!

that says it sold in 2013. Is it going back up in Houston next week? I did not register so can't see what it sold for last time!
Oof, I didn't check the details since I'm not familiar with that site. I do remember clicking and getting there because someone said Tony's subsequent Escalade was for sale soon, and this link was from a comment saying they would rather have this one, so for some reason I assumed it was also for sale.

Sounds good! I believe your poster buddies here told you to replace those plugs about a year ago!!

Glad your Golf is back to it's old "drives great now" self.

Well…the seller bought it in May of this year, so it’s a flip. The downside for the seller, s/he bought at a time when used cars were high, but they’re now falling.
I can now see the window sticker on my Maverick and it looks like it was invoiced to the dealer on Friday, but no build date yet.
I don't know...I'm thinking more like $15-20k tops. Miles are low for sure, but not crazy low. And it's been repainted twice (once to yellow and then back to the original black paint).
The seller should have sprung for a professional photographer - it doesn't present all that great in the pics and videos.
If anyone is interested, it's in my backyard.
I'm shocked it's still just at $7K with less than 3 hrs to go.

A '96 GSR with 157K miles sold for $13,750 on BAT at the end of June. A '94 GSR (Bright Green) with only 64K miles sold on BAT for $20K in May.

What happened a few months ago may not be an indicator of what will happen today or going forward. Yesterday I heard a financial analyst declare that the chip shortage has been over for a while now and it’s just supply chain issues holding up car production. This could mean that the days of sky high prices could be coming to an end.
Certainly this development means more for more mundane car prices than collectibles but as every day cars drop in price it might drag down these auction cars too.

I think Tavarish did a video where he limped one of those Allroads home from Kansas. That one looks a lot nicer than his did. The pricing on that Volvo wagon is getting into crazy territory for what it is.
Paint issues, radio not working, didn't look like much service history was available either. I can see why it was under what some of the others have been, but still surprising to see it remain in 4 figures.

That Volvo looks like a really good copy, but I still don't know that I could have talked myself any higher than 11 or 12 on it.
Now's your chance my friend. Spec it out, put a deposit down, & order it exactly how YOU want it. This is most likely the last hurrah for a 2 door, gas powered, RWD, 6-Speed, ///M Car.

Agreed 100%. Forget the rear bumper, which I imagine will present better in person anyway. 453 hp, manual 6 speed, for less than $70k optioned up? This is what you’ve been waiting for @roadburner.
I was browsing local inventory of Mustang Mach-Es and came across an available GT model. Clicked on the “unlock price” option which resulted in a schedule that clearly outlines the MSRP, and the “your price” which was equal to MSRP.
So, thought I may go check it out…could be a good deal at MSRP and you’d get the “old” tax credit. Made an appointment with a salesperson for yesterday afternoon, got a call in the morning from a sales manager to confirm the appointment. Got there promptly at 4:00. The salesperson has information available on the available new GT and a slightly used one they have in the showroom. Then he mentions something about markups on available units that customers had backed out on. Huh? Oh yeah…$10k markup on Mach-E GTs.

The way they hold their value coupled with how he takes care of the car, it will be a worthwhile automotive investment.

Man, do I hate that. I think I may have had a conversation with the SM for wasting my time.

100%. And I would have had the printout showing "my price."
Ford has been cracking down on markups, so I'm sure they'd like to hear if the dealer wasn't honoring their own quoted price with ADM.

Do these dealers think that lying to get you into the showroom only to pump you for an extra $10k will endear you to them? Personally, if they wasted my time with a lie like that I’d be hard pressed to not throw furniture.
