We had both my folks cremated. Problem is, now what? They’ve been sitting on my shelf ever since. I know my mom wanted to be with her mother, but the deed to that plot is MIA. My aunt says it is in a safe deposit box that she doesn’t have a key for. She promised to take care of it but that was a couple of years ago now. We had planned on taking some of my dad on our Alaskan cruise and depositing him up north because he always spoke fondly of his time stationed there. But that was canceled for covid. So there they sit on my shelf. I talk to them fairly often at least.

Everything is wrong on that car. The grill is atrocious, the rear looks like it’s already smashed in. The ride height looks like an Outback wagon. Sedans already don’t sell, I see this as a huge fail. It’s not like the Avalon sold well anyway. It hasn’t since 2008 or so.
Ever the contrarian, I'll admit I kind of like the Crown. Reminds me, in a way, of the Polestar 2 (or the gen 2 Outback sedan).
Not everybody wants an SUV/CUV/SAV, and as Americans age, they do appreciate cars that don't require a climb to get into them, or a drop down into the seats.
Not my exact way of doing things, but used equity to buy down the lease.
Ended up at 18 months at $370 a month with $2500 check back to her.
They got her $26,500 for the RAV using a Toyota dealer they are friendly with. Every car they had was marked $7500 market adjustment. This lease was at MSRP (42K) and buy rate.
All in all the equity from the Yota was completely unexpected and essentially “free money”. This car will cost her $4160 out of pocket to drive for 18 months. She is banking the extra $2500 for the next lease if needed.
Bottom she loves it and is very happy with the overall outcome.
Thanks @kyfdx for confirming the MF in the leasing forum.
I could have done better with a broker on LH but they didn’t want her RAV and it would have been much more complex and three hours away. This was pretty easy and the dealer is 10 mins away.
Dealer did try some shenanigans when trying to apply the equity (bumped MF “accidentally” and try to double dip inceptions) but when I questioned it he figured it out.

And, you’ll get to be in the market again in only 18 months!
Less.. XC90 is due in 11 months!
Happy, yes. Do I feel we got a “deal”. Nope. But I guess in normal times, I could have scored a sub $400 on a Murano without needing any equity and she would have just turned in the RAV.
Yes every car I saw had it, including the Murano Mom got. The sales manager said something about internet leads getting quoted MSRP. I guess if you come in from the street you have to negotiate the markup off.
Pathfinder looks nice. and I guess you are right that putting all the pieces together, she got a good deal (by normal times standards). Plus she might enjoy driving a "luxury" car for a change instead of a putt putt mobile. I made that mistake 10 years ago and now the boss won't go back!
Everyone here knows how much I hated the RAV. In my opinion the Murano is a much nicer ride. Yeah it’s a CVT, but she won’t ever notice or care. The VQ is still great although they must have de-tuned in the Murano as it’s only 260 HP. Wasn’t closer to 300 in the Maxima?
I warned her gas mileage will be less than the RAV but other than that, I think it’s a step up.

the idea of being buried always skeeved me out too, and really seemed quite strange. I'm certainly no doing it!
discussing in advance is always smart. But better is just putting it all in detailed writing and kept with your other papers (will, POA, etc.) Leaving it up to survivors, to make decisions under stressful conditions (with someone pushing them that has a ve$ted interest in he decisions) is really not fair. I'm just not willing to plan it in advance and pay for it. Partly because I have no idea where I will even be at the time. Though if you aren't getting buried, really doesn't matter!
I’m being buried in my Mustang with the trunk loaded with $100 bills. I’m taking it all with me!

Check the torque comparison. Sometimes they retune for more of one and less of other depending on size/weight of the vehicle.

Mileage listed is highly dubious with alll the rebuilt items in the description. Aftermarket steering wheel. ‘68/‘69 4-4-2s are the least desirable (engine is a dog). Price is nuts.

I just received this in my email earlier today. Somehow, I don't believe a word they're saying. Just my prejudices against used car salesmen showing, I guess. No insult intended to anyone here, of course!
On the maverick forum people are reporting much lower buy offers (mav flipping and people buying one while waiting for another is pretty common). If that is reality dealers will be getting a bunch more new ones for stock when people don’t take ones they ordered.
