Anyone else want to jump on the M240 Convertible bandwagon? Best color combo right here. https://www.carmax.com/car/24720046

The ad says under 20k mileage but states that it has 24k miles.

Might be able to get the wife to trade the Acura for that!

A few concerns though, especially at that price. One being it’s out of warranty in 2 months. And can’t tell if it has BLIS (because it definitely has a huge blind spot!)

And unlike many of you, I don’t consider the extra $ big engine a real bonus. AWD too, that just seems odd for a convertible that will never touch snow!

    Lovely colors though.

That's why you get the CarMax warranty.
    Another $2-3k I assume?

I have not tried the Maverick again. But carmax sends me occasional updates that the RDX is now worth even less!

Probably the wrong crowd to talk me off the ledge but I can trade the wrangler 4xe 2021with 19.6k miles for a 2023 bmw X3m40i with 8600 miles. Tanzanite blue with mocha leather. Shadowline, HK stereo, parking assist, 21 inch wheels. Has everything except ACC cruise control (no idea why they would pay $1500 for special paint and skip ACC)

$18500 difference including taxes and all fees. They started at $20300 difference and I just acted ambivalent as to whether I wanted it. UCM stated that he would rather have a wrangler on the lot than a x3. Then he dropped to 19500 difference and I asked for 18500 and he said we were “close enough”.

    What say the masses?

I’d have an 8 hour drive to swap…

Fortunately you don't get the widescreen digital dash on the X3; it's definitely a nice vehicle but I believe the Macan S is more entertaining.

Sitting in a McDonald’s in Des Moines while my son sleeps in a little. Road-tripping him back to Naperville for his junior year at college. Crazy how the time flies.

Did about 10 hours yesterday and now have a short 4-5 hour drive left. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but his Tiguan is a really pleasant vehicle for a road trip. I think we averaged about 34 mpg.

My younger son moves in tomorrow to start his freshman year at CU Boulder (his mom is taking care of that duty, while I’m on the road with the older one). Closer to home of course, but boy I’m starting to get a little emotional about it all!

What will my wife and I do with all the free time (and freed up garage space)? ;)

I'm super logical and usually don't fix what ain't broke but I'd say, go for it! Do the trade and don't look back! Think in the long run, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't do it. Sure, nothing wrong with the current vehicle but you seem to want to swap vehicles. And if the money difference ain't a problem, which clearly it ain't, I'd say just go for it! Sure, so easy for us to spend other people's money but in this case, think it's the right move for you to do this.

Drove a new 15 pack size raised roof Dodge truck yesterday & hated every minute of it! Just too big of a vehicle for me to drive. Wasn't comfortable from the first minute I took off. Had to go from West Palm Beach up to Ft. Pierce and stayed in the right lane of I-95 the whole time going just about 64 mph. Having no back or side windows didn't help but used the side mirrors which were electric and definitely helped. Started to have a slight panic attach a third of the way through but having some calming music playing helped me relax. Of course, I was the last driver to get to where we were going but my lead was cool about it. He knows I totally hate anything big but there was no choice here as a few guys on our crew were out.
And truely, this is the only bad part about my job. I hate the big vehicles and prefer sedans and smaller SUV's if possible. Have finally gotten used to driving a Ford F-250 truck though don't love 'em. Prefer a truck with a power seat as I can sit up high to get a better view out of the front window. But just like that box of chocolate's that Forrest talked about...we never know what we're gonna get with each trip we make. Did get to drive another Kia K5 afterwards with just about 61K that we sold to a local dealer down in North Miami. Very peppy vehicle I must say though a pretty big sedan. Luckily at work, my lead is very cognizant of what I like to drive or don't like, and tries his best to give me the smallest vehicle on his list which is appreciated. Definitely earned my money yesterday!!!

Taking the Hyundai in on Thursday for it's latest recall. Heard it's just a computer re-flash of some kind to deal with the thefts of so many Hyundai/Kia vehicles of late. Told me they'll need it for a couple of hours so will have them Lyft me home. Another dealership that has gotten rid of their shuttle service it seems. Guess they find it cheaper to just pay the Lyft driver instead of an employee. Doesn't really matter to me as long as they can get me home and back to pick up our vehicle later in the day. Seems her right front passenger door sometimes won't open after hitting the key fob twice but, we'll deal with that at another visit. Haven't had to return for any warranty work since we bought it in early December of 2019, so have until December of 2024 before the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty runs out. So still have plenty of time to get this issue addressed/fixed before then. Just feel comfortable getting this one issue fixed first for some reason. And must say, with almost 15K on the clock, the Accent has been a pleasure to own & drive. Just sorry they discontinued the model but understand that the Venue sells more units and is the same size basically. Having the hatch makes it a more versatile vehicle. And something I will look at if the new Hyundai Kona turns out to be something I won't like though I've got a feeling that a 2025 model will be sitting on my side of the garage next year sometime.

I’d take the X3 in that color combo. But also I’m what’s called an enabler.

I showed my wife the carmax M240 and said one of "the car people" found it for her. She was concerned that there were people she did not know looking for cars in her name!

but she seemed intrigued by the idea of making the swap.

It has me toying with the idea of renting a Model 3 from Hertz for the Detroit/Indiana/Ohio road trip, since a couple of the hotels where I'm staying have free destination charging. But I'd have to pay to Supercharge at least a few times.

Actually, I don't think about it much. Most of our cars have required Premium for so long, that I'm numb to it.

Well that and I hardly ever fill up the 4xe. I almost totally avoid full ups

I don’t really want the same car and color as my friends wife

And I always hate having the old body style and I know the new body comes out in a year.

Doesn’t help that I’m not fond of Dreyer and Reinbold for service either and it is 45 minutes away.

I don’t have a lot of faith in the dealer with the X3m40 either. I started with one guy who asked me to text pictures of the Jeep. He doesn’t answer for two days and then says he didn’t get the pictures (despite them sending a thanks text back). Then he asks me to email pictures. Next he hands me off to a used car guy. Then I get a call from someone else the next day. This guy acts surprised that I’m out of state despite the paperwork that was texted being…out of state.

I've been looking at trucks online locally and in Iowa, mostly the Hybrid(PowerBoost) F150.
The more I looked the more confused I got.
Printed out a couple of widow stickers to compare.
Then I realized some of the trucks in Iowa were recent arrivals and had a built in $1900 discount on the hybrid system that the local units don't have.

I had overstated the mileage by a few hundred, so I reentered it and it went up another couple hundred.

It would have been nice if the reporter asked or knew to ask how many of the crooks from the old Nissan dealership are now employed by the new dealership. Without that info, to me, this was not a good in depth report.

Yeah, Nissan has a great rep lol. Big Altima Energy in car dealer form.

Is Carvana still a going concern? I guess I signed up for price alerts on the wagon back when prices were nutty and it was a gazillion dollars more than my residual. I still get an email every week or so, but the new price is far below any real book value, or even what I could get in trade in at the local dealer.

A few weeks ago, my wife mentioned that one of her friends has a newer Honda and that the paint is peeling off of the roof. I did some online searching and found that there is a TSB that addresses the issue. So, she took it to the local dealer. The service manager took pictures and said the photos needed to be sent to Honda for approval. Fair enough, but since then it has been a fiasco. No calls or updates, no returned calls, etc. The last straw was last week- she was sent an agreement to sign that stated that the windshield would need to be removed and that she would be responsible for paying for if it was broken by the dealer.
She complained to Honda USA and Honda is apparently siding with her. However, the damage is done; the friend has said she will never buy another Honda. Just another example of how the dealer experience can completely destroy any brand loyalty...
