It's definitely a pride thing. At least on my 2021 the hybrid system has a longer warranty. The dealer wanted to sell me a Zurich warranty but I think I'm going with a Mopar warranty from Ziegler Auto group.
Since I plan to also hold on the the C43 for a while, I might buy an M-B extended warranty as well. Fortunately my M-B dealer offers the most competitive pricing on those warranties.

Found this while searching for the Maser’s electrical malady. This is why we can’t have nice things.
———————————————— That could have been the result of an over sized fuse being installed. The only time I saw a relay socket melt like that it was because an over sized fuse was installed. If I were you I’d check all fuses to be sure they are the right size.
I don’t envy you replacing that relay socket.

It is a Maserati. Things like that can just happen for not particular reason other than being an Italian brand. No, does not look like fun doing that. Also lucky the car didn’t burn up.
What circuit is that? Did the car even run without it?

The connector in that one slot wasn't seated properly, so it was arcing. Somebody has been in there playing around and must have pulled that one and when they pushed it back on, it pushed the wire down part way out of the bottom and they didn't notice.
Found a junkyard box with all wiring and receptacles on ebay and ordered. A bit pricey at $93 shipped but might as well have the extra parts I guess.

Your used car problems are always so interesting. 😉
Pulled into garage this morning and shifted into "P". Had my foot on the brake but the car lunged forward and I stepped on the brake pedal with all I had. Stopped about 1.5"'s from the wall which holds the a/c air handler. Turned the car off. I was shook! Looked over at the gear selector and it showed "D/S" or whatever "D" says but the shifter was in the "P" position still. Car kept telling me to put the gear shifter into "P" or "N", but car now wouldn't start so I gave up. Called my roadside, a total disaster, and took them just over 4 hours to get to my house. Guy opened the hood, did something, and rolled the car back out of the garage. It's at my guy's Tires Plus location as I called him & he said tow 'er in. My wife is at an IRS seminar in Orlando this week, so will use the A3 tomorrow as I've got to meet her train after work. Needles to say, I'm not a happy guy right about now not knowing what's wrong & what the bill will be. Around this time, my work buddy calls me & tells me he just saw a brand new red Corolla Cross AWD Hybrid in the Toyota store's showroom with my name on it! He knows I want either one of those or the new 2024 Hyundai Kona Hybrid. Just wish the Kona would show up at dealers already so I can drive one but got a feeling it's gonna be my next d d after driving the new Tucson and Santa Fe recently. Very impressive vehicles to say the least & honestly, am tired of waiting for the next thing to go wrong with the Golf. Wife feels the same way about her A3. The girls are going to St. Augustine on Saturday to go check out and sign a lease starting the middle of November. Stopped at the Audi store yesterday to have them top off her oil and coolant plus check the air pressures in her tires of which three needed some air. She basically doesn't trust the A3 to not have a problem driving those 400 miles & that "EPC" light still comes on every time she starts it. She just turns the car off & re-starts it and that light goes off. But still, something ain't right here. Told her if she doesn't trust driving her vehicle on a longer trip, she needs to do something. Said she should take the kid's Accent up like I did two weeks ago as it's a 2020 model with just over 16K on the clock. But since it's the base "SE" model with no safety nannies on it like her A3 has, she won't take it. Again said start looking to replace the A3 if you don't trust it. She kind of agreed but mentioned she'd like to look at the 2024 A3 which to me is stupid. It'l cost a lot more then the $29K she paid back at the end of 2014, more like $36K, but she's fine with that. Asked her to look at the Elantra or the CX-30 also as they'd be a bit cheaper to keep. But first things first, we need to get the Golf fixed and back in the garage. It really turned into an awful day today!

that is the flip side of saving money by driving an older car. Things will go wrong and need fixing. Can't really have your cake and eat it too!
Sandy, at my age (which is less than your age!) I have zero tolerance for dealing with problems, or worrying about if I can trust my car. Once that happens, it is time to replace it. Assuming you can afford it without financial hardship, just get something you can trust. Especially the Audi, if that is the car needed for traveling longer distances.
and if you want the wife to deal with it, stop taking care of the problems. You said your each on your own with picking out and paying for your own car, so let her deal with the foibles. I would bet that will get her to do something quickly!
can be more complicated now since everything is computer controlled. But hopefully. Just not confident that a tires plus store is equipped to diagnose it!
Aldi used to offer a wine advent calendar--not sure whether they are doing it this year. Can't buy it in my state due to liquor laws, and I heard that people line up before they open just to get it. In my entire life, I'm not sure I've ever wanted something bad enough to line up before a store opened.

It’s all the Buffalo Trace products. They are allocated and stores treat them like gold. I am a buyer at retail or a touch above but once it gets too expensive there are too many other choices to chose from.
It’s strange up here. Our provincial (government) liquor boards have lousy bourbon selection and never seem to get rare or limited edition items. Yet locally we have oceans of regular Buffalo Trace on the shelves along with some other stuff that seems hard to find in the US. No more Eagle Rare though which used to be not so rare here. Same with Blantons.
Scored one of these last weekend at $89. Nearly impossible to find here in Nj especially under $100.
I picked one of these up at my local grocery store hidden away last summer. Very happy!
This was laying out on a table with no price or anything. I’m sure it was not supposed to be there. Typically here in NJ they put all the BT allocated stuff in the back to sell to big spenders and friends.
My good buddy who is very well off gets them frequently because he will drop $1000 on bourbon at a time.
I was referring to bed capacity. If you have to hook up a trailer to haul lumber or a dozen bails of hay it’s not a truck I’d buy.
As to the Maverick, I wasn’t looking at them. I was looking at old style Rangers with a 7’ bed or a F-150 single cab with an 8’ bed.
You know…..manly trucks.😙
Well, to be fair, that's not the truck's fault. You can get a smaller cab with bigger bed on the Colorado or Dakota. I just happen to want more cabin space so I can carry more than one passenger.

Building a house might be just as maddening as trying to update a house. Last week I had an estimator for a window supplier come to measure for 9 new windows and provide a quote. The quote arrived with each of the windows priced individually (good) and installation for all 9 (removal of old, whatever opening prep that might be needed, exterior and interior trim) quoted as a total for all 9. That number was $6900, or just over $750 per window. Of the 9, 5 are small old-style 20”x34” typical old house basement windows. I was dumbfounded at the cost. In my head I figured a crew of 2 could do all the basement ones in one day, and then come back to do the 4 main floor ones the next. So far they are standing firm on their price. Ugh.
Seems like a fair price, to me. I paid nearly 10,000 for just my windows (11 of them) nearly fifteen years ago, and that didn't include getting them to my house or installation, both of which I did myself. If that price is all-in start to finish, I'd go for it.
