not sure if mine is in the glove box, or under the seat. I know I have a spare on a shelf in the garage ( I think I accidently kept one from a previous car, maybe my TLX) Thankfully I have never needed to use one (I do have one in the RDX someplace).
FYI, now they are saying $12k incentives on the Hornet RT with conquest, affiliate, and website coupon. $200/mo with $200 at signing is a possibility on 24/7500.

I found the OEM fuel fill adapter for the Maverick. It was… wait for it… under the rear seat in the storage bin where I had previously searched for it and couldn’t find it. D’oh! I clipped it to the bag that keeps the jack from rattling around, which is where I think it’s “supposed” to reside. At least I have a spare now.
It's for the capless fuel filler, in case you have to refill from a jerry can instead of a pump nozzle. Apparently, you can also use a screwdriver or other tool to hold it open, but I wasn't aware of that at the time.

I have to have my Mom drive one. How bad can it be for a two year lease?

not sure what the affiliate is, but I assume I would qualify for conquest, and can certainly find their website. So that would be a heck of a price for a spare car, winter salt beater. Though for winter duty, 30 months is even better, since you get 3 winters out of it if you get the lease in November!

nyccarguy I think Lexus may due pull ahead lease starting at 6 months. In addition they will sometimes wave over mileage if you lease a vehicle with them again. It may be worth waiting as I would not like to see your parents roll negative equity into a new lease.
Feel free to search the 80202 zip code and let me know what you find, and recommend.
Assignment accepted! What I found is, used car asking prices are still pretty nuts. and I am glad I am not trying to find a good, reliable car on that kind of budget! But, a few things:

I just looked at the Lexus website. It does appear that Lexus will waive the last 6 months of your lease if you lease another Lexus.

Yes, they do.
For Toyota, the challenge is finding a finance manager who understands how the program works.

But if they buy from a CT or NJ dealer, they can be used.
Yeah, but I "replaced" that one older tire 2 weeks later with the "same" newer tires. Turns out I ran over a rather large screw and it was luckily on the one tire from the Eagle GT's I had. Now, the Golf has the home brand from Tires Plus, not quite sure of the name though. So, all new within 2 weeks of each other with the exact same tire/tread. Not sure how G-d made that work out, but he sure did. And with the 4-wheel alignment done, car drives straight & true down the road.

Gave a friend some cursory advice (he wants to trade a 2021 Mazda CX-5 on a 2024 Crosstrek). Did some basic checking on the target prices, reminded him that he will save on sales tax if he trades the Mazda rather than selling it outright, thought I was done.
Then I had an "oh crap" moment. Emailed him again to ask whether he had driven the Crosstrek in the Premium trim he intended to buy and pointed out that the Sport and higher trims have a more comparable engine size to the Mazda. Although now that I look at it, the 2.0 liter Crosstrek looks like it has an only slightly slower 0-60 time than the normally aspirated CX-5. None of those three options are barn-burners.
The new Crosstrek is pretty nice for what it is. Depending on the trim CX-5 it may not be such a big change - if going from a Touring or Grand Touring, then yes, probably going to be a bit painful.
Also, I have to say, I like the Wilderness trim. You know, for all the off-roading the people buying it do at Target on the weekend.

My wife was asking me how much longer the 06 TL would last. I mentioned I would love to get about another year out of it if we can assuming no major repairs. She asked, are you still planning to give the Passat to our daughter and get something else for you? Yes, that's the plan. She quickly interjected, no old man's cars, get something fun!

Just made the final lease payment on the Tacoma with no real direction on what to do with it, other than NOT turn it in. It's got 14,395 miles with a buyout of around $29.3k. I ran it online through CarMax over the weekend and they came back with an offer of $38k, which isn't much less than original MSRP. For the first time I can remember, there's nothing out there that I just have to have. Interest rates don't help and there doesn't seem to be any killer lease programs to be had. The lease company said they would do month to month until August so I guess that gives us a little more time.
