I read to avoid before 2013 on the 6, and before 2017 on the 7. I’d rather have a newer design and features. A 2018 for the warranty and improvements seems good, though doesn’t appear to be that much more for a 2020!

The 2013 at closer to 10k seems a lot more attractive.

I know that folks generally stay away from green, but if this had sport seats it'd be quite nice:

I must be in the minority, but the base seats don't bother me. My wife actually prefers them.

Another vote for the Tasmin Green - I've always liked it.

Like most, I'd like the sport seats too, but the thing is, the sport package, much less the m-sport package, puts the price point of these wagons into crazy levels. I think this is a really nice "plain" manual wagon that would be a great driver.

Very fortuitous - I just met with an eBay seller for a retractable cargo cover for the Cayenne. Happened to be local, and someone who just wanted to get rid of it - it was included incorrectly with a used X5 he bought and the dealer didn't care to have it back. Bought it for a cool $75.

I'm pretty sure the 2020 actually comes with a shorter warranty than the 2018. They did away with the 6 year/70k mile bumper to bumper.

good job on that purchase. I love lucking into a sweet deal!

on the BMW, if the only thing wrong was the seats, it probably is not that hard to find a set of black sports seats.

that is actually the one thing I do want from the sports package. I am fine with the base suspension and smaller wheels.

oh, on the E46 I wanted it for the 3 spoke steering wheel too, but no an issue on that wagon.

2018 and 2019 had the 6 year warranty from VW. Beware the 2019 GTI in manual form - there were some issues reported pretty widely on the interweb about random stalling when approaching a stoplight. Last I read they think it had something to do with changes they made to 2019 engine oil and the related software for engine timing.

Not sure, but seemed like the going rate online through eBay or otherwise was about $200-$250.

A local indy shop had a 318Ti for sale - I was a little tempted.

Personally, I find the BMW standard seats very uncomfortable. So no sport seats = no sale.

I do like the sport seats although I find the tight packaging in the Z4 limits some of their adjustability, at my height. My wife actually commented on their comfort, which is super rare.

I came to really appreciate the feel of the T6 in my V90 - at first, its character was a bit hard to get used to coming from the Q7. But it’s a really responsive engine, particularly in its sport mode.

I'd like dibs on that green Mini Cooper to be honest. I liked the red Countryman I sat in the other day and think I'd be happy with a smaller vehicle right now. I sit on a cushion from the Relax The Back Store so not to worried about dropping in a bit. I do like that green color, a lot, so yes, please put my dibs in for it!

I hate black leather in a convertible, but for the price, might be able to talk myself into that one. at least until I took a test drive!

Too bad I still probably don't fit in a Miata. Though I think it is better in later models (the one I had I think was a 2001?) at least in newer ones I can fit my legs. Still a bit ungainly getting in and out of it. My wife, not sure she would be able to handle it!

Yup, probably not that many sold. It says V6, which is probably the Pentastar 3.6, so a great engine in an underwhelming car.

Reminds me of how Pontiac had a G6 sedan, coupe, and hardtop convertible, with various engine options, and GT, GTP, and GXP variants. Since they shared the same platform, if only they had offered the hybrid system from the Saturn Aura, I'm sure Pontiac could have been saved. :p

Why would they have wanted to? Market share was dwindling and another brand with redundant product wasn’t needed.

Yeah, that sounded a bit cheap for labor, even though it doesn't include incidentals like oil/coolant. Getting the engine for free from the junkyard sponsor also helps.

G37 is sold... Different process this time, the Carvana rep came out and did the paperwork, then left the car at the end of the driveway with the keys in a lockbox. The tow truck driver will come by later to collect it. Last time, the guy driving the tow truck did the paperwork and picked up the car at the same time.
