    We should see press photos soon, right? When did the show open to the press? When is the B9 official unveiling?

    I'm still hoping for a "juice Edition" with a 2.5T engine and a starting price under $30 grand! LOL

    Well, scroll up a few pages and look at our other photos (which are in this month's Car and Driver). It looks a lot better in the C&D images than the spyshots you are talking about. I was grossed out by the spyshot photos but the C&D ones made me think I need to see the car in person.

    First photo looks HOOOOOOT! Sweet angle, good camera work.

    2nd photo really shows the texture of the headlights.

    3rd pic makes it look like it has 3 individual seats, but press material says 60/40? I gotta check that out.

    Some inside scoopage:

    * 8.4" ground clearance (213mm)

    * 2nd row slides fore/aft 8" or 200mm

    * 9" DVD

    Holy cow that is a huge DVD screen!

    Pic 6: looks Touareg sized, good profile

    Pic 7: check out the lights just above the bumper, what is that? Or is it just some black trim reflecting light?

    Pic 8 looks like a Cayenne with an Alfa grille, it's least flattering angle. Too much chrome!

    Pic 9 - integrated spoiler looks good, door handles are body color. Those are indeed some sort of lights above the bumper. Back up lights, or what?

    Pic 10 - shows the "wings" the best, i.e. the heritage. Reminds me of an old video game I had called Thunderbird.

    I have to say, I like the overall styling now that we have a better look (still not crazy about the nose, but it's becoming more and more minor).

    Anybody notice the teeny portholes (windowlets?) just forward of the mirror gusset?? You can see them in both inside and outside pics...

    Looks to me like those bags in the are behind the 2nd row, not the 3rd.... So no storage w/3 rows in use?

    As a current owner of a 2001 Outback VDC and potential buyer of a Tribeca, I have to say that I am underwhelmed. The vehicle is underpowered and that Jimmy Durante front end has to go. I give Subaru about a year before we see a facelift ala the Impreza. Do they really think that this can compete against a Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander or the more upscale crossovers, e.g., the MDX or RX 330?

    Probably just reflectors.

    But what is with the additional "scooping" of the tailgate and into the rear quarters? IMHO unneeded design distraction.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    No roof rails! Wow, I'm surprised, Outback and Forester even have cross bars standard. I'm sure those integrated ones will take Yak racks.

    Gun metal color looks nice, you notice the chrome less.

    Interior looks very sexy. Reminds me of the Acura TL but swoopier, more curvaceous, in a good way.

    looks like it has little sparkly eyes that should have big long curly eyelashes ...

    something about that pic reminds me of the cartoon cars in the gas commercials from a few years ago ...

    OK, don't break my heart, announce a juice edition contented to a $30k price tag. I've only got $200 Subaru bucks!

    OK, $30,200!

    It better have one with that proprietary audio/dash design. No aftermarket for anyone.

    Out of those 16 pics, I see 2 that look somewhat attractive...pics 4 & 9, front and rear 3/4 views where the colour looks a bit bronzish...though it's probably silver....just the lighting, I guess. Anyway, those 2 views show some promise, as does the interior but the rest of the views, epecially of the front, are still tending to induce nausea. Still don't think it has much of a chance against the MDX, RX330, etc, especially since it will be priced as much or more than those. Priced like the mid 30's to mid 40's (Canadian)Highlander, it might stand a chance, but if it's over 50K Canadian, no way.

    Aux in is a surprise, I really didn't expect that given the Legacy didn't get it.

    iPod anyone?

    RX was controversial when new, kinda looked space-aged. Some of my friends compared it to the Jetsons space ships.

    We're just not used to Subarus stirring up much emotion!

    looking at images, etc. This is my first post since the into, and it looks GREAT!

    I still don't have a whole lot more info on the specs yet. For some strange reason when I go to download the the preliminary specs PDF, it downloads as some sort of corrupted Dreamweaver file!, and I can't open it in Acrobat?

    I sold my wife 2002 VDC a year ago (broke her heart), bought an odyssey due to 2 kids and 2 greyhounds. I promised her a new subaru when they make a seven seater but after this... no way!(at least until I see a better front end) I can't justify paying 30 to 40 grands to look at that ugly grill. I wonder if Subaru is paying any attentions on what we're all saying?

    it has HomeLink. I see 3 buttons on the driver's sun visor. It definitely has a foot-operated emergency brake. I really like that root-beer colored one (maybe it's just the lighting?) at the show.

    My question - does it have a telescoping steering wheel?
  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
    After looking at the photos, I noticed that the interior looks even more different than any other Subaru on the market.

    The center stack with it's orangish lighting reminds me a bit of Nissan. I think Subaru over did it with the brushed metal.

    What!? An AUX in!!!??? Why not on the 05 Leg/OB?

    I want to see the brushed metal in person. It looks less "fake" than most, I wonder what it feels like and about the texture.

    I like the look, though. I bet Acura fans will say they copied the TL, and I can't disagree. Looks great, though.

    Bet the Legacy gets aux in next year. That's gotta be one of the biggest requests, behind Nav.
