The Mach 1 would be more appealing in a different color combo.

The Lincoln Mark III might be OK if you ditched the wheels and the pinstriping filligree. I notice shots of the seats/interior are pretty sketchy though.

I would like that K1500 GMC from yesterday with more reasonably-sized wheels/tires.

That '92 500SEL in today's batch looks gorgeous.

There is a similar '99 E320 for sale privately here, I see it parked on the side of the road every time I pass by. Slightly lower mileage IIRC and $2900 asking.

Do I see a pop rivet front fender patch on that '64 Riv? Given the rust bubbles under the paint elsewhere I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I feel badly for Henry the 280 but wonder just how extensive the work would be to bring him back to health.

The '90 F-250 owner must have read that taking car pictures at dusk adds dramatic touches. Unfotunately it also makes it hard to see details.

Every time I see a '70 Torino GT I wonder what Ford was thinking with that interior.

1970 Torino GT looks good but NOM engine, no pics underneath, dash cap, Marti rep would be nice. If ordered with Drag Pack and still had original engine I would like it a lot.

Took the fintail to work yesterday, for the first time in maybe 6 or 7 years. The car ran fine and didn't mind the traffic grind, but the weather was fair and mild, which helps. I took it to show it off to some co-workers, but I am not sure all got to see it, due to work being a category 5 hellstorm lately, and people being too frazzled to care. Oh well, maybe next year. I took the car back to its garage late, and snapped a photo at dusk in a grocery store parking lot (the phone camera adds light) - the car was pretty striking in the low light, and turned a lot of heads:



Something about driving it in the evening, with the gentle interior lighting and mild yellow headlight illumination, with oldies on an AM radio station, time warp effect.

That Comet - it's a 6 with a manual, and that shifter has the reverse interlock just like my '65 Mustang did. So maybe it has the 4-speed Dagenham tranny? That would be the first I've seen in 40 years. Wish the seller had a little info in the ad!

Corona was always a likable compact car to me. I actually like the boxy 3rd gen better but this '78 is appealing in a 70's subcompact way. Shared same 2.2 engine with the Celica back then.

That '66 Galaxie could be really nice, but someone had an upholstery shop sew up a generic interior for it, which wrecks it for me.

I bought an 81. Preferred it over the Civic. Passed it on to my sister and they passed it on to her husband's brother. It was still running strong at over 150K when the floorboards rusted and it had to be scrapped.

Funny to see two cars from my oler brother's past in this list. His first new car after he was married and had kids was an Austin America as he was hooked on British cars at the time. As I recall it wasn't horrible but they soon outgrew it. A few years later he picked up a Corolla coupe that looked exactly like that '72, except his had salt belt rust. He took me out in it after he picked it up and told me not to put my feet on the flat part of the passenger side floor, because all that was there was carpet. Those cars were ferocious rusters up here back then.

Also back in the day my uncle had a '64 Comet Caliente 4-door, black and white. Seats were nice but the rest of the interior was economy-car quality.

The '63 Coupe de Ville could have some potential and the plastic covers might have saved the seats. But who would want a barge like that unless you were an Elvis impersonator?

The '80 GMC Sierra might be a bit overpriced but maybe not as it looks mighty good.

I love the patina, even with the non-original color (which I also like). I'd just detail it, make sure it is running right, and drive it as-is, so much presence and style. If only I had endless funds and storage.

The Ford truck is very nice.

You could put a V-12 under the hood of that Cutlass and still have some room left I think.

I am not a fan of the overly large '71-'76 B-body Chevys, but the '71 had the best styling of the entire run.

Hopefully all of the bird feathers have been eliminated. Maybe some were used to re-stuff the seats. In reading the comments I was surprised to find that this is not the only such vehicle to be used as a hunting car. Had no idea such things were done.

The styling of this is really well-done. I am amazed at the amount of interior room and the fine condition it appears to retain inside. I imagine acceleration with the autobox is leisurely at best, but I agree, it would be a very interesting car to have if someone was into older Benzes.

Like the nova, mostly. But must be scary with that much motor and that little brakes. But certainly cheap.

The problem with the '96 Impala SS is the Orca Caprice sea-of-gray interior.

Maybe 10 years ago I had a request from a fellow I knew only from the internet who lived in the midwest to test drive/photograph/report on a C43 AMG he had found online at the local Jag/Porsche dealer here. Well, sure! It was my first time driving one of those and what a gas. I really liked the car. The main issue I found was that the photos the dealer put online strangely missed a number of scratches and small parking lot dents/curb scrapes. I took pictures of those and sent him my report. He passed on the car because it was probably overpriced by the dealer, but what a ride!

The '74 Chevelle has the very rare "gaffer tape" upholstery option. :laughing:

I laugh when I see statements in ads like the '70 DeVille saying "sat in a garage for 25 years but you can drive it to Chicago tomorrow!". No, you can't.

I like the C43. If legit seems like a lot of car for the money.

Chevelle, tightwad special. At least if you are duct taping the seat together, throw a cover over it! But seems solid, so good base for a build?

Many years ago, I actually had a C43:



I had fallen for the cars when depreciation "hit my level" as I like to say, and they seemed like a huge value. They depreciated severely when the supercharged W203 AMG cars hit the scene. Mine was a 1 owner ~50K mile local example that was in pretty nice condition. It was under 20K almost 15 years ago. It did have some quirks, namely rear seat room that made it a 3-seater with this 6'1" driver, and it developed a horrendous sounding engine tick when cold, possibly a lifter or something. That combined with me finding the E55 had me trade it in - I took a small bath, but was more comfortable in the larger car. It was fun to drive anyway, as close as MB will get to a go-kart, and amusing to see the V8 wedged into that smallish engine bay.

Seller is actually priced at the top of the market, especially with those miles - but, it appears cared for, and I think I've only heard of one other blue one, so it may be OK if it checks out, to the right buyer. W202s have a few areas known to rust, so I'd also want it to be a local car passing a PPI.

Posted this a few years ago - it's still there, but in a dry climate (light rain today is an anomaly in a place I think averages under 10"of rain a year), so no worse for wear. Inland PNW car, no significant rust, complete, actually runs and drives fine. Owner has sentimental attachment and in the past couldn't bear to part with it, but today they said they'd be willing to let it go if it wouldn't be scrapped.
