Good point, the shape of hubcaps is a slender reed especially since many owners remove hubcaps entirely to go for an "outlaw" look but having seen a bunch of pics, I think those wheels are pretty much normal width>

Yes, the '69 Ambassador 2-door is a car that was seldom seen even when new, and I can't recall the last time I saw one in more recent times. That one has a 390 too. Has to be ultra-rare now.

Here's another shot from Bavaria circa 1964 that has me stumped. Even with lettering on the trunklid quite visible I cannot figure out what this little car is.

Looks like a Glas Isar (like the river running through Munich), Goggomobil-based.

I'd say its an early '70s Alfa Romeo GTV. Because it has bumper guards I'd guess it is a 2000 but I'm not sure.

Yup, that's one of my favorite Alfas of all time, a Euro-spec 1972 Alfa-Romeo GTV 2000. The posted photo shows it with aftermarket Rota wheels. Here it is with factory optional Cromadas>.

Don't thi k I have ever seen this one...it's obviously coach built. Lancia is the only maker that dabble in pillarless h/ts so I'll guess it is a variation on the Lancia Aurelia.

Second guess: Ghia-built Mopar ca. 1953-4

Third guess: coach-built variant of Volvo 122

Not sure of production numbers, but there was a sedan version that was of course made in larger volumes. I believe the coupe version was factory-built and not done by an outside coachbuilder. This is an early '50s car.

Lol! I read that Wiki page and tried to google something slower but can't find it. I went back to the early 80's to find a "speed test" of a Chevrolet Chevette Diesel: zero to 60mph in 22.3 seconds. That's with a 1.8 liter diesel with 51 hp and weighing 2175 pounds.

Interesting that Fiat built a 1900cc diesel engine but still called it the car 1400 D.

I'm really reaching back now but according to Hemmings Cars of Futures Past – 1961-1968 Amphicar 770: "Powered by a rear-mounted 43hp 1,147cc four-cylinder Triumph Herald engine, the Amphicar took an estimated 40 seconds to complete the run from 0-60 MPH on its way to a top speed of roughly 70 MPH."

Key word "estimated."

It kinda sorta looks like a Jensen Interceptor convertible but they all had a vertical vent on the front fender to my knowledge that this one lacks, so maybe not.

Blocky 70's shape and early 80s wheels? Bristol 412 variation with that power bulge hood bonnet over a Chrysler 5.9 liter turbo V8. Could be a Bristol Beaufighter but the body looks more like Bristol Beaufort. Both named after Bristol aircraft from WWII.

Not many made and I have no idea how to ID the specific year built.

69 or so AMC AMX. I love those. can't see the badge but from the shape of it I will guess it is a 390 go pack.

those door handles were used on every single AMC model for about 10 years I think. Had them on my Gremlin and Hornet.

Even with the whitewalls and wire wheels, that car just looks so pure, and very different to the bulging, lowered and menacing ones we tend to see now. I would think one of those with the hi-po 289 would have been a hoot to drive back then.

The Cobra appears to be a very early one with the 260 Ford V8 (indicated by the lack of side vents) possibly a 1962 model with lots of options. The sun visors, wind wings and luggage rack as well as white wall Goodyears were all options.

White wall tires were pretty common on sports cars thru the mid -'60s. My '66 TR-4A was delivered on them.

At that time I think Ford marketed the Econoline based Club Wagon passenger van as a Falcon.
