Oh - Andy - I didn't see your video entry - until now but the Gordon Keeble is the only car I know of that has a tortoise on its badge.

Got a good picture of that badge? I was wrong about the coachbuilder, it was Bertone, not Touring.

For some reason I thought there were actually several Bullet Mustangs used in that filming?

Here's a car that is slightly slower than the Gordon Keeble:

In a bizarre move, Firefox on my Dell PC which almost always would post images, suddenly went out on a wildcat strike! And the Asus which almost never worked is back on the job to let me post this pic.

    early 90s Subaru SVX.

when they first came out, my neighbor was a regional service manager for Subaru and got one to try out, and let me drive it. At the time, it was the most exotic car I think I had every driven. really quick.

Yup, it's a 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto. Alfa like most Italian makers spells Spider with an i. The notable exception is Maserati. The Duetto name was chosen after a write in contest according to carsfromitaly.com. It didn't last long being dropped in favor of Spider Veloce.

After only a year the boat tail was changed to a squared off Kamm-style rear in 1967.

The Duetto name was informal, copyright issues prevented it from being official.

Fiat Dino coupe, a very pretty car with a Ferrari-design 2 liter V6 and the usual Fiat build quality of the era. One of the better Wheeler Dealers episodes was done featuring one of these.

Yes, it's a 1967 Fiat Dino Coupe with styling by Bertone. It was common practice then to have different Carozzeria style the Coupe and Spider versions of the same car. This often resulted in great designs on both.
IIRC the Dino V6s were 2.4 liters.

As for build quality, I notice that the hood doesn't line up w the fender. :s

Which Alfa model was the so-called “Graduate” model? Anyone know without looking it up? I mean the one used in the movie, not the marketing exercise from the ‘80’s.

It was the Spider Duetto like the one shown in the pic here, but in red IIRC.

Your memories are good, I looked at stills from the movie and the distinctive boat tail of the Duetto Spider is clearly there in the scene where Hoffman drives his gradation present over a Bay Area bridge. . Unfortunately the download programs aren't working today on any of my three browsers.
