    Fargo pickup parked on left. For some reason Dodge trucks were rebadged as Fargos for the CDM. The car passing a truck down street on the right looks like a '59 Ford but it's probably a Meteor.

    Not exactly. Dodge dealers here sold Dodge trucks. Chrysler-Plymouth dealers here sold Fargo trucks. That lasted until about 1970 when Fargo was discontinued and all Chrysler Canada dealers got Dodge trucks.

    That's interesting, perhaps Chrysler corp gave a line of trucks to Chrsler-Plymouth there because there was proportionately more demand for trucks in Cdn.

    I think it was due more to the small size of the Canadian dealer network and the marketplace here, meaning smaller communities might have a C-P dealer but not a Dodge dealer. For whatever reason, rather than just let those C-P dealers sell Dodge trucks, they created the Fargo brand for them to sell. Maybe there was something in the agreements between Chrysler Canada and Dodge dealers that gave them exclusivity on that brand, but I don't know.

    It is very difficult to tell the difference between a '59 Fairlane and a '59 Meteor from the front with the resolution of that pic. The most obvious clue is the ornament at the center of the hood, with a Ford shield versus a Meteor 4-pointed star and badge. I can't really tell on this one.

    Would Ford-badged cars be more numerous in Canada back then, than Meteor-badged versions?

    The reason Dodge was marketed in Canada as a Fargo may relate to the fact that in UK we had Dodge trucks too, and they were made by the Rootes Group and marketed here under that name and we also had Commer and Karrier as other commercial brands through the same network.

    It maybe that the Dodge name was recognised in some sort of Empire / Commonwealth arrangement as a British Rootes product and protected on that basis.

    I think back in this era it would be Ford by a small margin over Meteor, simply because there would have been more Ford dealers than Mercury dealers.

    Yes - the Buckets car....

    See the red hatchback directly above the roof of the Acclaim with the bonnet up? That is probably one of the most derided of British Leyland (many) mistakes of the 1970's and as a result is now collectible.
    It's an Austin Allegro Estate.

    I thought it was an entry level Rover, Honda based. It looked like a nice car. The beat up backfiring Cortina Onslow drove was a hoot.

    1963? I don't think so, newest cars identifiable by MY are 1960s including the iconic 1960 Ford (Fairlane?) in front center. Other 1960MY cars visible include Mercuries, Oldsmobiles,
    Chevies. Oops, there is a single 1961 Ford wagon visible 2nd row left. The only newer cars would be those not readily identifiable by MY like the Corvair sedan on right and the VW Beetle towards left.

    Very few imports considering it's supposed to be CA near the zenith of the Euro import boom. Where's the Renaults, MGs Jags etc?

    I see a 1961 Ford black wagon as mentioned, and a 1962 white Ford sedan.
    Second row above the White 50s Olds with the shade on windshield
    for the 1961 wagon.
    The 1962 sedan is above the 58 Ford taillights at right of pic, in next double row
    under doorway of the Cape Cod home at rear.

    Cool pic, good era for parking lot shots - it looks like a car show. There may be a third 60 Ford in the far background kind of center-left, to the right of maybe a 63 Dart/Valiant sedan, a white car with the same bubble rear window.

    Looking for foreign cars, I see 3 Beetles, a Karmann-Ghia, and a small sports car with a black top kind of at center next to a Beetle.

    Oldie in the shot is a dark car towards the left, appears to be a midrange 39-40 GM car.

    I recall at the time that bubble rear glass of the 1960 Ford sedan was touted as a futuristic feature. I do
    recall it was hard as heck to clean the inside of that piece of melted silicon. The
    dust from gravel roads where I lived permeated everything and that glass had to
    be occasionally cleaned to get the gritty dust off.

    How many model years did that bubble rear glass last?

    Yep, your left arrow is the one I spotted. Not certain about the right one - the rear bubble window resembles a 60 Ford, but not the side window.

    I always found it odd the lower line cars received the more futuristic and likely more expensive wraparound/bubble glass in 59-61, while the highline Galaxie received the formal/flat Thunderbird-influenced design. The wraparound vs flat thing was 59-61, 60-61 might be the same part.

    I brought up something that caught my eye on this subject some time ago, the 60 Edsel 4 door HT has the bubble window, while the 60 Ford 4 door HT (which was top of the line) has the flat style (as it is a Galaxie).
