4 door Rambler. Taller than I remembered.

Is the black foreign car up front a Peugeot?

far left, is that the partial butt of a Jag saloon?

A pair of Poughkeepsie Plymouths, a '62 Fury 4-door sedan (late production given the 3 taillights per side) and a '65 also.

Plymouth had some fun with those 1962 rear lights.
    4 lights - Savoy
6 lights with the backup lights being in the 3 and 4 position - Belvedere.
6 lights with the backup lights being in the 2 and 5 position - Fury.

Peugeot 404 is the obvious oddity there, although there's also something else poking in at far left.

Corolla and a ZAZ Zaporozhets. Possibly a Zhiguli at far right, all at the Battle of the Nations memorial.

Yes, the red car is a Zaporozhets - I think the model is 968

I also think the wing visible on the right is a Lada / Zhiguli - I hadn't looked at it until you mentioned it....

You've been getting your money's worth out of Google earth today what with Maidstone and the Monument to the Battle of the Nations. I've never seen Leipzig

only bit of (now former) East Germany I've ever been to is Eastern Berlin, and that was after the wall came down.

In Poughkeepse isn't the Jag tail on the left an XK 150? - window looks too large for a Mk 1 - it's at a funny angle though.

Hard to say but the size would be say XK-150/140/120 than one of the saloons.

No one has mentioned the two Gen1 Corvairs or the Cadillac ('57/'58?)

I hadn't heard of Poughkeepsie until this posting but nice to link it to a song too.

Many of the places we post pictures of aren't particularly musical I suppose unless they are on a coast or something but it;'s good to learn....

Less likely to get one about some highways - except of course Route 66

Talking Heads Road to nowhere reminded me of the M25 (London Orbital Motorway) particularly when it is slow which is not unheard of...

As strikingly aggressive as the Dodge's design was, the two hood ornaments
always struck me as overkill. They may as well have put one above each
letter in D O D G E and had 5 of them. Now that would be memorable.

    Agreed.

I lived that era. I recall the heavy chrome cars like the one pictured.

I think on the 58 Dodge, the designer may have thought the dual hood ornaments
were alliterative to the (new) dual headlights and the dual dagmars on the bumper.
And that was repeated also in the dual lower bumper masses and the upper
masses that held the dagmars with turn signals in them. 2 of everything?

There was a Cadillac of the era of the red one all in white that convertible that showed
up at a large weekly cruise in. Brougham? Or Eldorado. Just beautiful in its extravagent elegance.

@fintail Yes the Ssangyong Chairman - M Benz wanna-be that we didn't get here although we have had some of their other offerings in the past - ie the Rodius which in fairness is very practical and unlikely to be confused with anything else - they were popular with cab companies - roomy and ideal for a group booking to the airport.

Blue (English) Ford Anglia 100E at right in a group of 55 Chevys. At far left, to the right of a ~53 Pontiac, maybe a Simca Aronde.

I think a couple more 'furriners back near the building, too.

I think the car to the left of the Pontiac is a Mk 2 Ford Consul - possibly with some sort of badge bar on the grille
I think the red car beside it is a Packard circa 51/53
Right through to the back below the word Guaranteed is a yellow truck and in front of it is that cream 2-door with the brownish roof a 47/8 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero?

Had one of that era as a rental on my one and only visit to Hawaii in 1997 (it was a business trip, but the wife joined me).

Built like a tank, and scared the crap out of Ford as they were developing the ovoid Taurus and Sable.

Yes, that's right. This was a 1992 example (LE), purchased new by my father in November of 1991. He actually bought his first motorhome, a 1992 Winnebago Brave (hey, he had to start somewhere!), that same month. It's the only time I can remember him buying two vehicles so close together.

At the time of this photo, taken in 2001 at my brother's wedding, this car had just over 220,000 miles on it. They (my brother and his wife) kept it for another few years, but she was very hard on it ("drives it like she stole it" sorta driver), and the transmission went at around 260,000 miles.

Well, it was definitely a more modern Camry, larger, and it was a tank.

But, I think the '88-'91 model was the best ever.

My Fiat 850 look alike wasn't a Seat but instead a 1966 Neckar Fiat Adria.
Fiat had an assembly plant in (West) Germany and sold their cars there from the fifties onwards as NSU Fiats until 1960 when they revived another name - Neckar Fiat, which was how they had done the same thing in prewar days.
This is one of those - they stopped production in Germany a year or two later ..
    This is the rear
    of it
