A Granada???? IIRC Ford at that time was going for an international look? If you thought a Mercedes was a Granada then they succeded!

Heck I should've remembered that the long WB Benzes were SELs.

The silver Aston-Martin is a DB-S ca. 1968. Not nearly as pretty as it's DB-5 or DB-6 forebears.

Sorry 'bout that. This is actually a little different(not much) than the Skyhawk found in Jan '06. This is a 1975 Chevy Monza.

    6636 - nice DS19

6637 - Dodge Rampage (my sister had one of these around 1998 - red with matching canopy, immaculate condition, she loved it)

Fooled ya, it's the cheapie version, the ID19 which deleted most of the luxury features of the DS. :P

  • chuck1959chuck1959 Member Posts: 654
Isn't it the Plymouth version or the Rampage?...Scamp
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
No, its a 1984 Rampage. The Scamp was only sold in 1983, so it never saw the quad headlights for '84.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
I figured it was a mid-90s Ford MPV, but I didn't remember it was called the Galaxy until I saw the picture on Autoblog.

I think it is a Toyota Starlet...
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
But don't believe the file name...
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
'99 Starlet it is. Last year for the old workhorse before it was retired in favor of the Echo/Vitz/Yaris/sixteen other names.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Previous-generation Opel Zafira, but something about the picture makes me think it's the Chinese version.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
You're very warm. Asian clone of the Zafira is right, and remember what cars I own, that's a strong hint.

That's the first Bristol from the late 40s, showing the heavy BMW influences. Called a 401 or something.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Correct, they put in a bigger engine and even lowered the price, but it still never caught on in Japan. It's been dropped, and a rumored Imprezza-based people mover should take it's place.

There are probably still a few left around, as there are Saab 9-2x models left over.

    That's right Fin, it's a '47 Bristol 400, looking very much like a prewar BMW 328.

1973? Mercury Cougar. Friend of mine had a metallic green one in high school.

With that bumper, I'm going to guess it is a '74 or '75...

...it's a 1973 model. The "chrome log" rear bumpers weren't mandated until 1974. Chrysler had an interesting approach. They put huge rubber "bricks" on the existing bumpers to meet the 5 mph impact protection rule.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
    Close, it's a '72 Cougar XR-7.

With that monster front bumper? We had '72 Ford products that just had the minimal chrome bumpers... that is just weird..

I thought that was a '73! I was just getting ready to look for the pics to prove it. But you beat me to it! ;)
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,727
I just couldn't recall the differences from so long ago. I had a 73 Torino but the Mercury version was different-had studier front suspension parts, etc. So I started looking for the year and model names. I didn't remember it was called the Cougar at the time!

It's labelled a '72 on the South African website I took it from. Possibly it's mislabelled, one would doubt that South Africa would have stricter bumper regs than the US in 1972.

Yeah... I think front bumper regulations started getting tighter sooner than the rear...

Using the '73 Vette for an example.... Still had the little chrome strip for a bumper in the rear, but had the rubber nose in the front.. Went to rubber front and rear the next year..

I just always used '74 as the cut-off for big bumpers... Once again, I'm proven wrong.. :D

I see the grille and I think "Osca", although I haven't a clue about model names
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Good job Fin, most people wouldn't know an Osca grille from a Mack truck's. The black coupe is a 1955 Osca 1300 MT4 Vignale Berlinetta.

IMO it looks a decade more recent than it is.
