Must be an F1 edition or some such special. Lots of F1 cues, though.

It's older than that. My guess it's a 1971 Plymouth Fury. Andre?

You got the year right but it's not a Plymouth either, it's a 1971 Dodge Phoenix.

    Honda Stream.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yep, and that's the last generation model.

The new ones look SOOOOO much better IMHO.

At first I thought it was a Renault Megane Scenic.

I'm going to guess that is a '67... because it looks a whole lot like my mother's GM from that year, which was a Bonneville coupe...

Notice the hood. It has three little squares. I wonder if that is the air intake for 3 two-barrel carburetors. What motor would that be?

    '67 427SS?

Yep, 1967 Chevy Impala SS/427 IIRC the hood cutout wasn't stock for these.

1964 Chrysler 300. I can't tell whether or not it's a Letter Series car, in this case it would be a 1964 Chrysler 300-K.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,673
Attaboy Lemko, it is a 300-K.

I know.... it's a photoshopped assemblage of these cars:

    a) Porsche 550 Spyder lower body
    b) AC Ace front clip
    c) Alfa wheels
    d) Alpine A110 greenhouse
e)....and an Audi 4-ring logo in the grille.

What did I win? :confuse: :P

Looks like a slant 6 out of a Chrysler product.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I really have no idea, but I'll guess Ford straight 6, since I had an engine like that in my 1980 Mustang Ghia.

Plus that reminds me a bit of some Ford pickups I've seen.
  • andre1969andre1969 Member Posts: 26,055
Definitely looks like a Mopar slant six to me. At first the engine bay threw me off, because the hood and cowl look like they were from an older truck, and I don't think the slant six went into pickups until 1961. However, those '61 trucks, while modern and flat-hooded, still had low fenders, with the hood curving downward on the sides to join with them.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
    It's a 225 slant 6, residing in this '65 B-movie monster:

Ugh, I always hated that "owl eye" look that Chrysler tended to go for from time to time. The earlier versions of that truck though, with the quad headlights and Chrysler-esque trapezoid grille, weren't bad looking.

A lump of coal. Not one of the cars you've mentioned is part of the pictured car, even the 4-ring logo is not an Audi logo but rather the symbol of the old Auto Union of which Audi was one of the four parts, the others being Horch, Wanderer and DKW. The car shown is one of perhaps 150 or 200 DKW Monzas made in the early
    and mid '50s.

That was sold in Brazil as the Chevy Monza.

    Mom owned one.
  • karsickkarsick Member Posts: 312
That must be the most badge-engineered car in the world.

    Chev Cavalier
    Pontiac J2000
    Buick Sky-something
    Olds Firenza (?)
    Cadillac Cimmaron

Also sold as a Vauxhall, Isuzu (Aska?), etc, etc?

Maybe the blobby new Saturn Voo will take the honors away from it :P

My parents and grandparents had an '80 and '81 Malibu while I was growing up. I do remember the '81 having the Classic name as well, don't recall the '80 having that. Looks like from what I can see of the rear quarter, it's a Malibu Classic.

Something's fishy about the little marker lights (inboard of the headlights) on this A-body.

    What gives?

Is this some euro-export version? I notice the road has a white stripe down the middle.

  • andre1969andre1969 Member Posts: 26,055
1978 Malibu Classic sedan. "A Fresh New Slice of Apple Pie", the advertising of the era proclaimed. I'm surprised that it doesn't have a stand-up hood ornament, though. Unless it was an extra-cost option? I remember when my Mom sold her house in 1980, the real estate agent had a 1979 Malibu Classic, with a stand-up hood ornament. Mom had a base 1980, and I remember her being envious of that hood ornament.

Ahh, the things that passed for status back then. :P

Actually, though I think it's a Malibu, as well... Those look like Oldsmobile wheels... Similar to Cutlass wheels from the mid='70s..

Actually, that is a Chevy rally that was used in the late 70's, maybe on up until around 1981 or so. I don't think it was that common. I've seen it on Malibus and Monte Carlos. I think it was only offered as a 14" rim, so it probably didn't make it onto too many Camaros or Novas. I could be wrong though.

The Olds Rally is a bit different. Here's a 1979 Cutlass Supreme that's sporting them. They were often painted to match the color of the car, a common trend in the 70's, but also often came in either black or sort of a graphite color. They were offered in 14 and 15" styles. I think they quit offering the Olds Rally when the RWD Cutlass Supreme was discontinued after a short 1988 run.

Corvettes used the same or similar wheel in '66 and '67>

I think it was eventually used on just about every Chevy.
