Taking a closer look, I find it interesting that the grille and front lights remind me of an Infiniti G.
There were 26 used in the movie.

Chevy SaabSuzuki KizashiYup that's Suzuki's competitor to the CamCord/Altima/Fusion etc.
Generic but somehow attractive, sure beats the Accord in the looks dept.IMO.

I wonder who's building it for Suzuki? Something about the cowl area looks a bit GM-ish to me.
The grille is blatantly VW and the greenhouse is Toyota.

The article I read (and, I suspect, the one where the picture is from) stated that its a wee bit smaller, dimensionally, than the major players. 183" inches long, which is about a half-foot shorter than my '03 L300.
I will agree with you, andy, that despite its genericar styling, it does look better than the Accord. God, what were the folks at Honda styling smoking when they decided to approve the redesign?

Much too neat and tight to be an Accord here. That wagon with Honda's good diesel would be a winner. Sadly, this devolving corner of the world seems to have been rejected by that progress yet again.

The current Suzuki lineup in the US (SX4, Grand Vitara, and the leftover XL7) is all Suzuki built and designed. The last Daewoo-based product left the lineup last year.

The rig itself looks like it's based on the 1957-60 style of Dodge truck and not the 1961. However, I think that's just how Dodge did their big rigs, using the older style cab right up until they quit making heavy duty trucks sometime in the 1970's. Later models were called "Big Horn" or something like that, but I dunno what the earlier ones were called. And if that's a publicity shot, then I'd guess the car carrier is also a '61.

Couple of decades was stretching it, but I don't believe terribly far off. I was going to say "a decade" but I don't think that's true. I don't seem to remember a '99 model, anyway. So probably like a dozen years or so. Probably more by the time the new one gets here.

Do BMW and Mercedes Benz still make wagons? I see older models from time to time, but can't recall if I've seen a brand-new one. I guess that's the kind of cachet they're going for, with this Acura wagon?
Well, I think that's just it. They were never very popular. Most popular "entry-lux" wagon was/is Volvo, AFAIK. Maybe Acura is going for a piece of that. Not exactly a big market, though.

BMW has 3er and 5er wagons for NA, but they are rare sights.
Of course Europe gets wagon variants of almost everything. E63 wagon was one of the coolest vehicles offered.

Yeah, the Seneca was actually a sub-series of the Dart. In 1960-61, Mopar got kinda stupid and pitted Dodge directly against Plymouth, rather than it being a step above like how Mercury was to Ford, or Pontiac to Chevrolet. What had been the Coronet series was dropped, in favor of the Dart, which instead of just being a model was a whole lineup that matched Plymouth, model for model. I think by that time Plymouth's lineup was Savoy/Belvedere/Fury/Sport Fury, while the Dart's counter was Seneca/Pioneer/Phoenix. And if you wanted an equivalent to the Sport Fury, you just ordered your Dart with the D-500 package.
The Dart's advertising in 1960-61 even compared it to Plymouth. The ads would compare it to "Car C", "Car F", and "Car P". And "Car P" wasn't Pontiac or Packard!
The move was successful for Dodge, which went from selling around 156K cars in 1959 to something like 376K in 1960. But it would prove disastrous for Plymouth, which only saw sales increase thanks to the compact Valiant, which Dodge wouldn't get its Lancer version of until 1961. I think 1960 was also the year that Rambler ousted Plymouth for 3rd place, and would do so again for 1961. Then in 1962, Pontiac settled in as #3 for the rest of the decade. I think Plymouth did hit #3 again in 1971 and 1973, but after that it was all downhill.
