The V70 was redone in 2008 and won't be redone again anytime soon. The new V70 is really just a S80 wagon. The new S60 is using a cut down shortened version of the S80 platform. If they can make it drive like the XC60 just in sedan form it will be awesome. The XC60 is one of the best driving crossovers I have ever been in. Just enough power, just firm enough ride without being too harsh, I am looking at you X3, but not so wallowy that you feel like you are driving a couch or a RX350. Well those are the same thing really. Oh and awesome seats too.
The XC60 LOOKs great, but I'm afraid it fell short in alot of areas for me. For one, too darned heavy. Another is the very awkward driver's position in relation to the car. The extreme slope of the windshield and massive dash make it feel like I'm sitting in the middle of the car.
The S60 isn't quite as dramatic as the original concept, but still a step in the right direction for Volvo styling. Hopefully it won't be so obese (do we know yet?).

Yeah 2007 was the last year the V70 was just an S60 wagon with more rear seat room.
Also the last year you could get a real R car with a six speed manual, AWD and 300 horsepower.
The new T6 going in the 2011 Volvos is supposed to be boosted to 300 horsepower. If Volvo adds another 50 horsepower and a manual to the S60 to make another S60R that would be great.
The first-generation 9000 was based on a platform shared with the Fiat Croma and Lancia Thema. I think this car is part of that generation, since it doesn't have the upward-sweeping window line of the later cars.
Behind it there seem to be a lot of other (newer) Saabs.
I think you're correct, it's a match for a second-gen U.S. 9000 ('92-'98) I found, detail for detail, except for the RHD and the turnsignals are amber in the one I found. A British requirement for clear?
'03 or newer L200 or L300 .. the picture that andy posted doesn't give me a good look at the wheels, which is the most obvious difference. 15" for the L200, 16" for the L300. My L300 also has foglights, which may or may not be on the movie car.
Ah well close enough. Had the right time period and basic dash anyway. That's a RARE bird in the U.S. Most are now little piles of ferrous oxide blowin' in the wind.
Sorry, I couldn't get in when I tried to reply a while back, and had a crisis here at work since so I lost the plot...
This Alvis had coachwork by a little known British company, Duncan Industries, who were based in Norfolk, I think in a former airfield, just after WW2. They built over 40 of these coupes on Alvis TA14 chassis, and a few similar ones on Healey chassis, plus a couple of odd ones for Bentley etc. They went out of business by about 1952, I think, at least as far as cars are concerned although they may have done a few truck bodies etc...
That's a car I'd like to own once it depreciates into nothingness. MSRP was about $130,000 and now we're down to around $75-80K for one with normal miles.
I alrready tell my wife that we need to start stocking up on toys for our 6 week old son.
I can't wait to start buying him model cars and Legos. I wonder if I'll cave in and give him my unopened collection of Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Dub City, and others I have. Heck if I hang it all up on the wall I wonder if that will be the right thing to do to a kid, jundreds of toys you can't play with. Almost like torture.

Edit:
Just noticed it is RHD hmhh so maybe not a 9000. Did Vauxhuall rebadge the 9000 as something for the UK?

Yep its a second generation ('92-'98) Saab 9000i Saloon, (UK spec, equivalent to a US Spec 9000 CD IIRC.)

Or, could be the motto on the New Jersey license plate. (changed from "1001 Mobs")

Gee, looks like about a one-foot throw from 1st to 2nd.
I once owned a 65 Valiant with 4-speed and it had a much beefier gearshift.
The one in the picture reminds me of a Corvair shifter. I wonder......

You're covered - go for it. Just padlock the rec room when you're at work.

Something out of the IFO/Sachsenring/Wartburg/Trabant stable? Or perhaps a DKW?
