I was away from my computer yesterday, so I'm a little late responding to this one. I thought that during the '50s Detroit abused every color in the rainbow, but I don't think that even they used that one.

But, just looking at the two.... they appear to be corporate twins... I just don't think that's accurate, that they are based off two different models... sounds like marketing pap, to me...
Or course, you could make the assertion that every Honda and Acura model is Accord-based...
Yeah, the ZDX is based on the MDX/Pilot, which I guess you could call a 'truck', but they're crossovers that I bet started with some Accord ingredients, so the difference probably isn't that much.
damn is that thing FUUUGGGLY. I for one will be happy when this giganto-car-with-gunslit-windows monoblock trend is over. I can imagine the sightlines on that thing.
Played badly enough, a sonata can indeed be something worth fearing. One might throw a Fit at being forced to listen. . .
I always thought the Olds Cutlass and Buick LeSabre were badly misnamed, as both lacked much of an edge. Nor were Chevy Impalas particularly graceful, nor Caprices particularly capricious. On the other hand, at least today's Ford Flex is flexible, and its Fusion is, um, fused.
Nope, not a Hillman (though it is related). But there is a hint: the last two cars I've posted do have some things in common: same engine, same corporate origin (but not brand name), and names that suggest delusions of grandeur.
".......cuz they sold only 350 this year wit dem radio delete option and this color combo. yup i had folks offer me big bucks for'er but i said no way, imma take it to barret jackson one of these years...."
Link doesn't work...and it still looks fakey to me :shades:
I hope they did something about the interior...I loathe the E60 interior. The pile of German mags I picked up have several exterior shots, nothing inside.
New BMW styling trait developing - wide unbroken bumper-width space low on the front bumper, above whatever might be counted as a front spoiler.
Ah that's better, no stupid swoopy curvy dash and door panels. This new car is very reminiscent of the new style 7er I had as a rental, good ergonomics. Maybe BMW has decided to become a little less hard on the eyes.

I've seen that color too, I just don't remember on what. They didn't miss any shade of blue back then.

The Honda version is a little better looking... and definitely better than the pictures...
At least with this model, you can tell the front from the back (unlike the TL)..

Car names used to be so great. How can you threaten anyone with a Sonata?

A nice improvement on the somewhat geeky E60 IMO.
