I have no clue what that funny furrin car in between the 2 beetles is either. But man, parked out by a Mongtomery Wards. Long time since anyone saw one of those.
I'm late to the party, but that New York photo shows a '68 Biscayne or Bel Air wagon, and the '68 Chevelle is either a 300 or 300 Deluxe as it sure looks to me like a pillared coupe and that bodystyle was not offered on a Malibu or Concours that year.

That Chevelle looks like a pillarless H/T to me, I don't see a B-post. There is a vertical line but it's flush with the windows and besides would someone order a low-line and order a vinyl top? Could you even do that?
We're still missing the ID of the little subcompact parked between the VWs. That's not surprising since few were imported but it was a big seller in Europe.

Also what's that mid-50s MoPar visible behind the umbrella?
on your supplementary photo of a white Renault 4CV /750 there is a pink Peugeot 403 convertible, of the sort Columbo used to drive, a Volvo Amazon, a Jag, which I think is a 420 rather than an S-type or a MkII, and a grey Citroen 2C which looks like a base version without the extra window behind the rear doors. The Renault and I think the Volvo appear to have either Swedish or Finnish plates plates.
I'll look again at the pic, but you could definitely get a vinyl top on the two-door sedan cheapo model. In fact, the rooflines are about the same, as is the cut of the rear quarter window; just that the one body style has frames around the glass and of course a "B" pillar.
Our older neighbor lady bought a new 1973 Chevelle Deluxe four-door sedan, white, full wheel covers. blackwalls, no radio and a black vinyl top. She ordered it.

Yup, that's it, the weird little car between the two VWs was a Renault 4CV which had an engine a little more than half the size of the Beetle's (750cc vs 1200). The 4CV was the first French car to sell a million units.
Although not many were sent to the US it was made in seven countries including Japan where they were built under license by Hino Motors.
Alfa Giulia Berlina 1600 - and I think its the 1600 Super rather than the 1600TI which had a chrome strip running from the middle of the bonnet towards the windscreen. It is earlier than the 1967 facelift as that introduced smaller spot/fog lights, that didn't reach the top or bottom chrome bar of the grille, I think, and it isn't likely to be a 1300 because they had a different grille,as did the later 1600.
No idea about the blazing wreck, although the most obvious thought - that it was a FIat, is unlikely as the boot lid is wrong for any Fiat I can think of. I thought either a Ford Cortina MkI a German Ford Taunus 12M (?) or possibly a Simca 1300 /1500.
The Guilia was available in 63, and pretty unchanged until 67. I always thought the TI was only available with the chrome strip down the bonnet but they may well be right. We never saw enough of them anyway - and I've just found a picture supposed to be of a Super that does have the chrome strip down the bonnet, in 1966, which would be proof I was wrong...
I'm late to this game, but I think that's a '56 Plymouth 4-door parked over on the other side, partially hidden by the trash can. I'd guess a low-line model, like a Plaza or Savoy.
Neat picture. I'll take a few guesses. 59 Plymouth wagon and 61 Impala bubbletop. Blue 47 or 48 Mopar of some kind. Falcon Ranchero. Some kind of 49 or early 50's GM fastback, maybe a Chevy? 55 Chevy wagon. 58 Ford. The next two are 49 or early 50's Mopars, maybe a Plymouth and a DeSoto? 55 Ford wagon.
Looks like Subaru took revenge on VW, and slapped one of their raised suspensions on an old Vanogon, since a lot VWs have taken donor engines from Subarus.
Well, you got most of them, but the white wagon on the extreme right is a '56 (not '55) Ford Wagon. This pic makes me want to arrange an immediate fun trip to Tijuana. I can almost smell the salsa.....
Who knows, may be nice in person. But I wasn't wild about the latest generation CR-V we sat in while tire-kicking a Fit, and I really like boxier wagons. Guess this is more Fit sized, but it still has that shape to me, at least the side view. No worse than a Prius I guess.
The Crosstrek should be here next fall, and should retail around $18k. MPG is targeted around 40mpg for the 2.0l that we will likely get in the US. The orange may not be available.

Plate on the Alfa indicates Naples
The Mechanic (1972) features Charles Bronson pushing that car or a similar one over a very steep cliff using a bucket loader.
The Giulias of that era are my favorite Alfa Berlinas, I like them better than contemporary BMWs.
I can't make out the blazing wreck, could be anything IMO.

Okay, that's a lie.
Pretty bad these days when not only do all sedans look alike, but all the crossovers are getting cloned too.
Hint - I have a forerunner of this type of rig, but I'm not excited about this style.
whatever it is, I like it.
