Mercury Grand Marquis LS, probably an '88 or '89. Next to it is a mid-'80's AMC Eagle or Concord wagon.

Your picture is so big, I could read the lettering on the trunk. :P

    It reads:Grand Marquis LS and,
    of course, Mercury

I'd guess a late 80's model, a friend of ours recently dumped one.

    Really?

I just opened up the picture and the lettering doesn't seem that big to me.

Anyway both of you are correct, 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis it is.

In that Grand Marquis pic I can even tell that the car on the left is a c.63 Falcon

The red truck is a Diamond T, a completely prewar design carried over to around 1950 IIRC

No takers for #4294? I didn't think it'd be that hard, maybe this one will be easier>>

    You can see the Z28 emblem, I'm guessing a '69 Camaro Z28

4294 is an Alfa 1750GTV or something like that

    Told ya it was easy.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Something like that. The 1750GTV was sold here for only a couple of years but IIRC in '70 or '71 it was replaced by the 2000GTV, the maroon car is a '73 2000GTV.

Maroon really looks nice on that car doesn't it?

Those Alfas look good in just about any color.

I'll guess the wagon is about a 73 Buick...but aside from that, I dunno...can't recall a model name

    Ferrari P3 or P4, probably a P4 (ca. '67). Strictly a race car.

    >ictly a race car.

That and the Ford GT sitting on a local dealer's showroom floor. Who needs that GT in normal driving. Salesman didn't know how to react when I asked if snow tires were available for the GT for bad weather days here in Central Ohio.

No sense of humor in showrooms these days.

You probably know the manufacturer, but what exactly is the year and model name?

    Volvo 940. Probably about a 1990.

Could be a 960 I suppose, I forget which years they had both models

Funny, look how low the window line is. Today we're used to more metal and that cocoon-like feeling of smaller slotted windows.

I still see Alliance's driving around town. That pic is of the Renault Encore. I think the Alliance was a car of the year :surprise:

Yes it was and I don't think Motor Trend's credibility has recovered to this day :P

I might see an Alliance once or twice a year but I don't recall the last time I saw it's little brother, the Encore.

Looks like a Toyota Paseo, guessing '96 or so. Looks LHD, not sure what the Paseo was called in other markets.

    Paseo it is, ca. '92.

    Here's something a little earlier>>

'54 Desoto. The reverse slant on the rear windows didn't show up until about then and the ultimate was the 58 Chev 4 door hardtop with the reverse slant to the C-pillar.

That's the Lamborghini LM002, mid 80's to early 90's. The ultimate SUV before SUVs were considered "cool".

I was dying to answer that one. It seems like the sheiks liked those as they would do 120 mph in the sand (assuming any armor and machine guns mounted didn't weigh it down too much).
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Actually, weight doesn't affect top speed at all, only the amount of time it takes you to get there.

So the sheiks were going 120mph even with the armor and machine guns. :D

Not sure what it is, but man the styling is great! :D

    Probably Italian or British.

    Is that really post WWII?
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Looks like some foreign coachwork bastardization of a British car like an MGTD. A TD is lame enough but this car is really getting ugly in proportion, wheel size and style, and heavy grillework.
    Is it a kit car?
