IIRC, the '70 442 had a 455ci V8 with something north of 350 hp, probably close to 500 lb/ft torque. I don't recall the Skylark having a 455ci V8 option, but I could be wrong.
Other than that, GM did share that body amongst itself.
The Buick Skylark and the Olds Cutlass shared the B-body platform in 1970 but they were not clones since GM Divisions had their own powertrains prior to the mid 70s.
The Buick analog of the 442 was the Buick Gran Sport.
When you can't find a clean 2 door, what do you do? Weld the back door shut for an instant coupe!! I've seen that done a few times and never understood it. It's the silhouette that makes the 2 door sportier, so what do you get for the functionality that you give up?
I remember seeing that treatment on an otherwise well executed 70 SS clone. I always thought that if you're going to get the SS hood, badges and stripes, you've got to make the effort to find a 2 door.
According to the ad, the rear door handle was "shaved" in order to make the car resemble a two-door. It doesn't make any sense on a four-oor with the B-pillar and framed windows. :confuse:
4658 is a W(R)107, of indeterminate model and year. I can tell its a UK spec car, but as the car changed hardly at all up til 86, and was made til 89, it's really impossible to narrow it down. If the wheels are stock, it's no older than the late 70s...I'll guess ca.early 80s, but as it is Euro it is likely a 280SL, as those are more common there I think. Could also be a 500SL or the more often seen 450SL if it is older.
The Chevelle "2 door" is kind of lame, when you can see the rear door outline.
Good guess, Juice. No doubt you are thinking of the similar and contemporaneous AC 428 with the Frua Spider body that was originally intended as a replacement for the Cobra>>
on #4688 which has been up for over 24 hours. None of you figured out that it's an Intermeccanica Italia ca. 1967.
Intermeccanica of Turin was founded in the 60s by Frank Reisner a Canadian of Hungarian origin. His Italia and Torino were based on the TVR Griffith chassis and powered by Ford 302 V8s. You can't get much more international than that.
Mike is right it's a '58 Chevy Biscayne. I personally detest the '58s which have none of the nice lines that made the '55 thru '57 Chevies so attractive. IMO the '58 looks like a bloated version of the Tri-Chevies but I'll grant you that it's a bunch better looking than the '59s and 60s.
The '58 Impala was a milestone car in that it combined the power of the Chevy small block with the amenities available on the full on luxury cars. IMO it was a significant step in the dismantling of the Sloan hierarchy of brands.
The headlight clusters on the '58 Chevy were said to be inspired by the podded jet engines on the B-47 Stratojet.

yoribe gets it, it's a Renault Safrane. Why exactly was it doomed, could you explain?
But I'm clueless about how to attach a file in here.

The cars beside it are Renaults, so I will guess it is a Renault too...late 50s
Were they clones?

That's the non-US version with Euro style headlights, optional hardtop and Bundt Alloy wheels.
