Fees: $1,269.96
Taxes: $2,363.15 (CT 6.35%)
Net Cap. Cost: $39,849.11

Zero out of pocket, zero 1st month's payment.

$435/month with VPP

I tried calculating the payment myself using these numbers and got a much lower number (around 407) but I could be miscalculating. Am I missing something? They won't give me an itemization of the fees until I go into the dealership for finance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

$1269 fees: $595 acquisition fee. That leaves $674 for DMV and dealer fees.. Probably about right.
Tax is wrong, I think.. Doesn't CT tax the monthly payment, not the total price?

If you like the dealership, just tell them you want the base MF without a markup. If no luck, then expand your search.

Either 53% or 55% residual for FWD/AWD

Assuming FWD, I get $491/mo.+tax, so the calculations look good.
$1800 added on to the sale price.. looks like they hit you with a big doc fee? (typical for Florida)

Yea doc fee is 799 plus plates and the other stuff. Dealer said they were losing money on deal could this be true? Do you know what the  MF is and residual for FWD platinum in Florida July yet?

The current lease program runs through July 5th.

What a dealer says should have no bearing on your negotiations. So, they are losing money on each deal, but making it up on volume?

For reference, they are also currently quoting me $575 lease cash and about 6.5% off MSRP. Compared to what Ford is offering on the Explorers and what is available on a Durango, they are not very competitive.

The VPP price is set by Nissan. It's usually around actual dealer cost. Nissan pays the dealer a flat amount, to make up for the no-profit deal.

We don't show a separate residual for the Midnight package

Dumb n00b question... today is the last day of August. Would I stand a better chance of getting a good deal today (last day of the month and all that) or waiting until the Labor Day weekend (tomorrow or Sunday) for a good deal?

It's a good question. Nissan lease programs run through Tuesday, September 5th, so no hurry on that front. But, it's hard to know if a certain dealer runs their internal sales goals on the calendar month. Wouldn't hurt to pop in, and see if they knock your socks off.
