Over the weekend, I leased a 2017 Chevy Tahoe LT 4x2 here in California through GM employee pricing via a relative. I wanted to know if the deal they gave was good. The finance department stated they I got an excellent deal and thought so to. Below is the info. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Term: 36 months
Mileage: 15,000 per year
Down Payment: $8,000 ($2,000 down payment + $6,000 rebates/incentives)
Payment: $508.67 ($467.74 base rent + $40.93 - 8.75% sales tax)

Total Due at Signing $8,000 (Cap cost - $6,370.19, Tax on cap cost - $557.39, 1st payment - $508.67, vehicle license fee - $439, sales/use tax - $7, document processing - $80, electronic vehicle registration - $29 and CA tire fee - $8.75)

Gross Capitalized Cost $51,232.35 (Vehicle Price - $50,312.35. acquisition fee - $ 595, and misc add-on the the vehicle - $325)

I don't know what would be the difference. Maybe more incentives. All the information provided was from the lease agreement.

Seems awfully high to me. Is this just a terrible deal?

Massachusetts is the state. $5k is cash down payment. Does that answer your question? Sorry new to this.

My guess is that not all of the $5K is going to down payment - there is the first payment, the acquisition fee, the dealer fee, the RMV costs ...

Ask the dealer for a full accounting of the $5000 - you might be surprised.
