I live in New England and have a M35X. After talking to several people I decided to get snow tires with allow wheels for the winter. We have had two snow storms to date and the car handles magnificently.

I was able to get a great package from one of the national tire chains. I decided to get 17" wheels as they would provide better traction. I think the car has a more comfortable ride with the 17" wheels. Despite the up front initial cost, the snow and wheel combo is a great investment and it allows you to protect the expensive factory rims from scratches and pothole damage. You also save on the tread wear on the factory tires which are much more expensive than snows. You can get a wheel / snow tire combo for less than $1100.

What type of wheels and tires did you opt for? Do your pressure sensors work witht he new winter set up? Did you have to recalabrate your Spedo or tach?

06 M35x here, with only 4500 klicks (3000 miles). Mfr spec on the mileage is about 13.3 litres/100kms for city. I drive mostly city (there's some dispute about using lower than realistic speeds on these tests for hwy stats). I don't need the fuel economy computer to tell me I'm going through gas faster than any other Infiniti I've owned. But it's telling me 19.6 litres/100 km - for the US readers - that's about 50% worse than the published spec for this car. And yes - that's 91 octane going in. Can anyone think of any reason (other than the dealer's 'well, it's a new car') to explain why Infiniti math is so far off reality?

I got 23550R/17 V rated Blizzak LM-22. I didn't get pressure sensors installed on the wheels I purchased for the snows. No recalbration was done and the car runs great.

WITH MY PREVIOUS LEXUS NAV YOU COULD ALWAYS SEE WHAT TOWN YOU WERE IN. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW YOU CAN GET THIS INFO FROM THE M35X NAV WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING. THANKS.

I finally got the car back. 3 days short of 3 months. To recap, there are no major structural parts in north america and have to be ordered from Japan. Infinity consumer affairs is virtually useless but if you demand it early enough they may be able to upgrade the shipping to air freight which otherwise is floated all the way from Japan.
If you are unlucky enough to be in a significant accident the parts ordered by the autobody shop are actually ordered through the dealer. MAKE sure that the parts are ordered at highest priority - "customer care" priority. The dealer that ordered the parts in my case didn't put it at highest priority. Even with an appropriate order, there WILL be a wait. A colleague of mine with a M35x had a fender bender which also required 1 month of waiting for the part. (specifically the radiator bracket- yeah, I actually know the parts now which is pathetic) His repair only took < 1 week but add the wait time and you have something truly pathetic. My repair which was moderately severe took around 1 month to fix after 2 months of waiting.
The autobody shop did an excellent job externally. The driving seems normal but the parking brake light stays on and I think the lights need adjustment. I'm going to take it to my dealer (not the dealer that ordered the parts incompetently) All in all a miserable 3 month experience. The total bill came out to 16K which the insurance company is covering except deductible. Actually the biggest bill is the 3 month rental bill.
I'm still bitter from the experience. I've writen two letters to Infiniti without response. Can't say Infiniti is my favorite car company now although the pleasure of driving the M35x may wash away some of the bile.
Here's hoping infiniti comes to their senses and decides to stock some parts!

You've had a rough time all around - hope things get better from here for you.

Years ago when driving my eight week old Mercedes E-Class I was rear-ended. This one of the years of a new body style and therefore took 8 weeks for the repair. I therefore can sympathize. The car was perfect afterwards and I enjoyed many pleasant miles in it.

I can only hope my Infiniti experience improves. I can still enjoy the car which remains a great driving experience. But I have to "relearn" how the car drives after being away from it.
Last few problems: I have found out that my headlights are almost unusable at night. The focus is around 3 feet in front of the car and the light sweeps outward from the car into the other lane by around 6 feet! The local dealer must not have recalibrated the lights. More aggravation although at least I have my car back.
Makes me wonder if I should have sent the car to the dealer I bought the car from which is 35 miles away from my house rather than stayed local and relied on a local autobody (which did a good job) and the local Infiniti dealer (10 miles away) which I am starting to despise.

It's not too surprising to have problems with parts availability across manufacturers in the past. But there are fewer excuses now in 2005 - almost 2006. Most other industries have better inventory control and can ship parts via air. And some of these parts are probably not that heavy. < 100 lbs. Think about heavy electronics that are shipped via air. And they don't take 2 months. I'm not saying Infiniti is the only manufactuer focused on selling cars rather than finding parts. But it takes a lot of donuts and coffee to make a customer forget crap service!
But I appreciate the empathy.

Has anyone purchased the service manuals for the M series? I like to know a little bit about the guts, especially if I'm in the middle of nowhere if it dies. It might also make adding in various tweaks easier and safer. Thoughts?

I was driving my M35 this morning in the western suburbs of Chicago. The car was in Snow mode as there was an 1" on the ground and still snowing, when the VDC/Off light came on as well as the Slip light. At that moment I lost a bit of control and hit the center median curb on the left front wheel. I was way under the speed limit as traffic was medium due to the snow. I took the car to the dealer as the alignment was now out of whack and they informed me I had damaged the wheel and a bearing and that I would have to pay to have this repaired, too the tune of $1295.00. My question is, does anyone else know of a problem with the VDC turning off all by itself, as I can't find anything on this and Infiniti says they have had no reports of this malfunction.
• howardk111howardk111 Member Posts: 17
We just had our first significant snowfall of the season (approximately six inches) and I was very impressed by the handling of my M35 (without AWD), even without snow tires. In fact, the car handled better than my old front wheel drive Acura Legend. While the AWD version might be able to safely travel faster, as a practical matter I was limited by the speed of traffic, anyway. The car got stuck one time, though, when I had it parked in some deep, wet, slushy snow. I turned off the VDC, rocked the car just one time, and it pulled out nicely. Overall, I'm impressed so far as to how the car is handling in snow. We'll see what happens with larger snowfalls which are likely to occur.
• mailerdgmailerdg Member Posts: 2
Funny you say this, as I have just the opposite impression of my M35 with AWD. I just love the car on dry or wet pavment, but in Snow, lets just say it is not my previous two cars which where both Audi A-6's with Quattro. Both of those cars tracked like they where on rails in any amount of snow. I find my M35 fishtails while in Snow mode at low speeds going around corners. When snowmode is off it is even worse. Yesterday while in snowmode with about 1'of snow on the road, my VDC shut off by itself while driving about 25-30 mph, causing me to loose control and I ended up hitting a curb. This incident damaged my left fron Wheel and the bearing. I now have to pay $1295.00 to repair the damage and Infiniti is saying they can't find anything wrong with the system and that they will not cover the repair.

Honestly I am affraid to drive the car in the snow after this experience. I have an Infiniti loaner G35 rear wheel drive and it handles better in the snow than my M35. Oh how I wish I had leased another Audi

I have been driving my 2006 M35 Sport for about 6 months and I love it...with one exception. When I start the car I get a static noise from my left speakers. Is this normal? I wonder if it has anything to do with the wireless speakerphone?

Also I am currently leasing my car for 39 months. I was wondering if anyone could advise as to how often I should bring the car into the dealer for maintenance. Which level of service do people who lease usually go with?

Thanks in advance for the advice.
• ewl88ewl88 Member Posts: 76
Don't know what the static noise from the speaker is. I don't notice any extraneous noises in mine. What wireless speakerphone are you referring to? I use the bluetooth with my motorola phone and there is no such sounds.

I'm leasing my M35x which is 7 months old (but only 3750 miles since it's was in a body shop for 3 months). I plan to do only routine maintenance and not necessarily at the dealer. There is nothing in the lease that specifies that maintenance needs to be at the dealer. My last car was a leased 2002 acura TL s edition. If Infiniti service is like Acura, you can expect 2x the cost of the retail maintenance places like Pep boys, jiffy lube. I'm not convinced you need high level mechanics for routine maintenance work as long as you choose decent name brand oil and filter. Of course, if there is a real work like diagnostic work or electric work or alignment that needs to be done, then the dealer is the right place to be. And they may be able to give you a loaner if it takes a while.
Remember, you're giving up the leased car anyway. Take care of it but don't go overboard. This may be different advice than what you would get from the other guys but seems many people on this forum seem to buy the car.

I have that problem all the time. It has something to do with the road surface but I don't know what causes it and haven't been able to get a straight answer from Infinity. Even worse, I don't feel comfortable when driving on the highway, I feel like I am always trying to stop the car from pulling. I just bought the car but my wife and I both hate driving it. Has anyone had this problem?
• docnukemdocnukem Member Posts: 485
It sounds like you have a problem. Brakes on the M have been universally lauded. Mine never pull and modulate extremely well. They are also able to stop a 4000 lb car very quickly.

Take it back to the dealer and have them check it thoroughly. It may be something as simple as alignment.
• tkeskictkeskic Member Posts: 5
The "pulling" you are feeling is normal for any sport type car; The combination of the alignment, and the wheel size interact with the road to pull the car left and right; However this ONLY happens on roads that are not perfectly flat. in some cities the roads have a "u" shapped well in the road where everyone drives, this is caused by hevy trucks.

The ONLY way in the M to avoid that pull, other than driving on a perfectly flat road, is the change the alignment, and possible reduce the wheel width at the same time.

If you go to a decent alignment shop, and explain the issue - they should be able to adjust that alignment to avoid that pulling feeling.

At the end of the day, this is normal in any performance suspension system. The M is no exception, its suspencion is designed for great cornering, and hence the side effect is that "pulling" feeling...

My bluetooth sound is horrible as well. Callers on the other end cannot understand me, and all I hear is a muffled mess! I have spoken to my local dealership and to Infiniti "Customer Service" (and I use that term lightly), they have told me that Verizon wireless is to blame as their service is lacking. Now I am not an unreasonable person, but does the service of the phone have anything to do with the bluetooth linking up? My thoughts are no.....I have been to Lexus, Acura, and BMW and my phone sounds great in all of these other makes, my bluetooth headset also has great sound. My bluetooth link is active even if I am in the mountains and have no service. I am at a loss, Infiniti said that they got their "excuse" from JD Power and Assoc. - I cannot find that statement anywhere from JDP&A. I have been fighting with Infiniti since February 28, 2005 - the day I bought this nightmare, i mean car.

Some other problems I have experienced are:

*Sunroof not working - fixed by replacement
*Sunroof rattle - dealer states "unable to duplicate" (driving me crazy)
*Bluetooth not working correctly - dealer states "due to customer phone"
*Reverse Camera Blinks (and turns off) intermittently - dealer states "unable to duplicate" or "working as designed"
*Gas mileage extremely poor (less than 10mpg at times) - dealer states "operating normally"
*Bluetooth Phone book and Navigation Address book wiped out and voice tags erased (multiple times) - dealer states due to possible customer error (as if I would erase each of them) or "unable to duplicate"
*Brakes grinding - dealer states "normal operation" (AT 12,000 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
*Loud pinging noise from under car when turned off - dealer states "unable to duplicate"
*Right rear window would not roll up - repaired magically
*Lane Departure Warning System will not shut up - dealer states "working as designed" (and gave me a lecture on how to use this option - including visual aides)
*Car will not immediately recognize the key - dealer states "working properly".

I am going out of my mind. Infiniti will not do anything to help me, and my dealership is useless! Any ideas, or similar issues? I have obtained an attorney, so we will see if that gets the big "I's" attention!
• justgreat47justgreat47 Member Posts: 100
it's worth mentioning that the dealer is an independent business, separate from the manufacturer of the vehicle. when a businessman signs into a contrct with the manufacturer to sell their vehicles, the dealer is obligated to stock so many parts, not by specific parts but by a dollar amount...generally, the dealer will stock items that they will need on an ongoing basis...mantainence items and such...anything off the wall due to a system problem or collision repair, must come from the source...this is part of owning a vehicle that is produced thousands of miles away from where you live...this is not unusual, just a MAJOR inconvenience.
• larryv100larryv100 Member Posts: 2
Thanks, that is very enlightening and sounds like that may be the issue, although the pulling is so pronounced that I don't understand why it doesn't seem to bother other people. Has anyone else experienced this and resolved the problem by changing the alignment and/or the wheel size?

Or do people just get used to the feeling? I find it makes me nervous driving and I have to use more concentration on keeping the car steady when going around curves, particularly on the highway or bumpy roads. I also find it annoying when the wheel jerks to one side when I go from moving slowly to stopping.
• docnukemdocnukem Member Posts: 485
I don't feel any pull (in my M35x) unless there is a clear tilt/cant to the road surface. I can take my hands off of the wheel while braking in a straight line (not that I do this normally).

It sounds like you have a problem.

I own an m35,2 months old,its an awesome and pleasant ride no problems, but recently I have noticed a constant beeping noise that comes on a few minutes after I am in motion, its kind of getting cold so I thought it was the climate control but it persists for a while and then stops on its own,any suggestions, thanks
• jeff721jeff721 Member Posts: 80
I also had my VDC and slip light go on in my car indicating a malfunction. I went to the dealer and they said a sensor in my steering column fried. It took 3 plus weeks to get the sensor and I now have the car back. 2 Issue:
1. The steering column rattles. I took it back and its better but not gone.

2. I am afraid the VDC and slip will not be there when I need it.

Anyone else have these issues?

Hey Guedo,

I have had a number of problems, including the bluetooth issue. As you I have experienced that the Infinti Customer service is absolutely USELESS. I am thinking of getting an attorney and trying to give the car back under the lemon law. You mentioned that you were getting an attorney as well. I should have bough the Benz E350. Big mistake on my part. :-(.. Let's stay in touch. My email address is cbipartner@aol.com

I'm really sorry to hear that you've had problems with your M. If you've looked at this thread or any other thread reporting M problems, you would see that the car has been quite spectacular for a first model year car. I know that isn't comforting when you're having problems but it is true.

I hope you successfully resolve your problems because the M truly is a great car.

I felt compelled to reply because as a longtime Benz owner I can guarantee you that the E350 would have had a much greater chance being a problem car.

While you've unfortunately experienced problems, the chances of getting a troubled Benz are much higher than getting a troubled Infiniti. You can also believe me when I say that Benz has turned a deaf ear to consumer problems.

Check your tire pressures. I had that happen to me. In the cold weather, tire pressure will decrease, You may be at the threshold where you get an audible warning that stops when the tires warm up. I would have preferred to also see a visual display, but this did not happen for me - perhaps my tire pressure had not gone low enough to trigger the display action......

Good point about the recirculation. I was also in the habit of using recirculated air.

So in other words, regardless of what temperature setting you're using, you should keep the A/C on pretty much all the time...even when trying to warm up the cabin, right?
• ewl88ewl88 Member Posts: 76
Bluetooth works fine with my verizon Motorola E815. I don't think it's a verizon problem per say. Makes more sense like a electronics probelm which they should look into.

Seems like a legal threat may be the only answer. (and I don't usually head towards lawyers)

Good luck.
• sjcbillsjcbill Member Posts: 82
Yes. The "auto" function will take care of turning off the A/C compressor when the outside temperature is low.

You might want to turn A/C off on a nice day when you have the windows open but you also want ventilation from the dash so you don't turn the climate control entirely off.

I've had auto climate controls on several cars and the Infiniti seems to work as well as any of them. I find that it works best for me if I just set the temperature I want and let the system take care of all of the adjustments.

After reviewing this forum, Guedo wins the prize for car most likely made on a Monday. Some of his issues have been addressed in TSBs or on this forum. Some my be bad education by the dealer--like turning off the lane departure warning system. But if you got an average 10mpg on a tank of gas and went through brakes in 12,000 miles, IMHO, either you got a bad car or you are bad to your car.

This forum is a helpful summary of issues with the M. My question is how do we know when changes are made at the factory so the new cars will not have these issues:
1. speaker static/replacement woes
2. moonroof rattle
3. exhaust heat shield noise
4. moonroof motor and rails issues
5. loose driver’s seat/noise
6. headlights aimed low
7. door seal wears out early
8. XM truncation
9. Bose sound issues ?head unit cheap? (whatever a head unit is)
10. Rear seat rattle/arm rest
11. Inadequate seat cooling
12. Bluetooth phone link inactive when not on a call and poor sound quality
13. Part availability issues
14. Steering wheel click
15. Poor gas mileage

Specifically with the moonroof, driver's seat motion and the exhaust noise, once a TSB has been issued, can we assume the factory is making changes in production?

After my accident in my M35x, my headlights have not been functioning properly. The beams are split with the right lights slightly higher than the left. (The net effect is that the beam is "notched" rather than one seamless light and the headlights appear low) I have been going between the autoshop and the local Infiniti dealer on this issue. The autobody swears the car's lights are mounted correctly and has disassembled the lights and replaced the lamps to prove it. The autobody shop believes it's a controller problem and that the headlights (replaced twice) are fine. The dealer doesn't believe the electronics are at fault (the autoleveling electronics and the adaptive lighting.) The dealer did run some diagnostics that show that the lights correctly swivel but hasn't done more in-depth testing. Now they are looking to talk to Infiniti's higher level technicians.
I'm not thrilled with the lingering problems after the car was repaired but I can live with it for now while they figure things out. The take home point is that repairing this complex vehicle is not trivial. And that the dealer doesn't always know how to fix it. At least the car is functional and it's in my hands. (The extended delay in the repair waiting for parts, paying for the junky rental car while paying for a unusable new car is what nearly drove me crazy)
• tayl0rdtayl0rd Member Posts: 1,926
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you wrote, I seems to me that the headlight simply needs to be adjusted. A Phillips head screwdriver and a few minutes of your time can fix that problem.

Not sure if anybody else has experienced this problem...

The bluetooth hands free system is my favorite part of the car. I loaded my phonebook used it for a while, then one day, all my entries were gone. I loaded the phonebook again, used it for a while, and again, I just noticed a couple days ago, all the entries are erased. It's almost as if the entries get erased every couple months...has anybody else experienced this?
• ewl88ewl88 Member Posts: 76
I don't think it's that simple. The autobody shop says the lights are perfectly mounted. They think the autoleveling is not working for one light (as far as I understand their explanation) I would think that if it was a simple adjustment both the dealer and the autobody shop would realize it. But i will ask if only to help me understand the situation.

Anyone have instructions on how to transfer my Phonebook listings from my Motorola cell to the Nav system via Bluetooth?

Thanks...happy new year.

Just took delivery on an M35 Sport. So far I love the car and the drivers seat is great. Unfortunately my wife said "everytime I get in this car I will feel unloved." Wow I somehow need to deal with this! She measured and the passendere seat is 8 inches off the floor (way to little and will not raise like the drivers seat). Also there is no lumbar support like the drivers seat. She can't figure out how an expensive luxury car could possible do this to men's wives, friends and customers. Is there any solution? Does anyone know of something really nice that can be placed in the seat to raise it up and provide back support? Apparently this seat was made for little people who like to put their feet almost straight out (difficult when wearing heals). BAN

I have experienced this problem many times. :lemon: Unfortunately, there is no fix for the problem. Actually, the service dept at my dealership has blamed it on me - stating that there is no way for the entries to be deleted, unless I deleted them myself. If you happen to get any help from service, please keep me posted! I have given up on re programming them, at one point I had 30+ entries that were deleted, I dont have the time to re program all of them!

I fishtailed in the snow last night and did a bit of sliding too, on the stock 18" tires with the X. Didn't matter if in snow or non-snow mode. My Quest minivan did better in the snow. But I love the car.

I have finally found out why the dealerships are reluctant to dig in and investigate problems! According to my local Infiniti Franchise, the factory only pays for warrantee repairs that can be proven. If the dealership replaces a part on a vehicle, that part must be shipped to Infiniti, and they determine if it is defective or not. If the part is defective - the dealership gets paid for the repair, if the factory determines that the part did not fail - the dealership get squat! In the situation where there is no defect found, the dealership then cannot charge the consumer, so they do what is referred to as "I67C" or courtesy "repair" i.e. they eat the costs. Now apparently they keep track of the amount of "I67C's" that they hand out to each person, and that determines many other things. Today I dropped my 06 M35 off because of my brakes grinding - I was called stating that my rotors were warped, and that warrantee would cover them. GREAT!!!! But, I would have to pay for the brake pad replacement, as they were now deformed. I agreed, but then began to wonder if the deformation of the brakes were a direct result of the warping of the rotors. I called 3 other dealerships and posed the scenario to them, and ALL 3 said that the pads should be included in the warrantee repair. I called my dealership and confronted them with this new info. This was when I was told about the "I67C" crap! Apparently, since my dealership cannot find any of my MANY MANY MANY other problems, they have been billed towards "I67C". I was basically told that my "I67C" credits were high, and that they would hate to submit another one or "the computer would start to smoke" (lol, NOT)! It is painfully obvious that Infiniti is tying the hands of the service departments. The dealerships are unable/unwilling to investigate by trial and error (or by other means) issues that are scattered throughout this (and other) websites about Infiniti issues. I am sure that the initial owners of the G35s were pulling their hair out because of no factory support. I refuse to be one of them! I am tired of complaining, I am going to contact consumer advocates, and try to get this :lemon: bought back! Anyone interested in getting your M's problems solved, contact me - I/we need as much ammo as possible (there is satisfaction in numbers)!!!!!!!!

sell the car. there is a severe "dark" area between the high and low beams were objects are totally invisible--until you are close enough to not be able to stop before "impact" it has been brought to there attention with the response of "that's the way the car is- it if you feel it's not safe" from consumer affairs. very nice= tell that to the family of the child you just hit !!
• hal6hal6 Member Posts: 5
i am having the exact same problems with my m45 with one exception. they are all safety related-no abs, traction control anti-skid, etc.
the service manager drove the car to his home and had the same problem occur. kept telling me the car is fixed and within one hour the warning lights came back on. i have taken the car in more than ten times for various problems and been in touch with "consumer relations" in California. i was told "there is nothing we can do to help." my re-purchase was denied and i was told (in writing) that if i wanted any resolution, to file "lemon law" prceedings. this is from the factory!! they will do nothing to help anyone even when it is a severe safety malfunction. i have written letters to them with no response;. i have taken photo's and videos's of the warning light. No assistance whatsoever. they don't care. i advised my insurance co.of the danger and they advised that if there was an accident they would file a claim against nissan. they still dont care. they already have our money. i am not letting up. tomorrow, i will write a letter to the CEO of nissan and copy it to the Florida Attorney General, Consumer Affairs, the media, my attorney, the national safety council and NTSB. they MUST be made to buy back these dangerous vehicles !!!!
feel free to contact me about joining in on the crusade.
• hal6hal6 Member Posts: 5
GET AN ATTORNEY ASAP. THATS WHAT I AM DOING FIRST THING TOMORROW. I AM ALSO CONTACTING EVERY CONSUMER AND REGULATORY AGENCY AAVAILABLE. NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL, NTSB, CONCUMER AFFAIRS. MY ISSUES ARE ALL SAFETY RELATED--ABS-TRACTION CONTRL==ANTI SKID, ETC.
FOR SAFETY, I WILL BE FORCED TO RENT A CAR AND THEN SUE NISSAN FOR RESITUTION. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY. CONSUMER AFFAIRS REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING !!
AND MY BLUE TOOTH AND VOICE ACTIVATION IS NOT FUNCTIONING EITHER.
• tayl0rdtayl0rd Member Posts: 1,926
You're going to be fighting an uphill battle. ABS, traction control, etc. are simply driver aids. These are all relatively new inventions and cars haven't always had them. Nothing replaces a prudent driver with his/her head on a swivel.

If you got into an accident and tried to sue Infiniti because one or all of those systems failed to operate properly, the first thing the defense attorney is going to ask is, "What were you doing to get yourself into that situation to begin with?" And, "Why didn't you allow enough space, speed, time, etc. to avoid the accident?"

Now, if someone (God forbid) is killed or seriously injured in your car due to no fault of yours and it can be proven that their injuries wouldn't have been as serious had those systems functioned, then Infiniti is in BIG trouble.

Your assessement of the the passeneger seat is accurate. I am wondering if the seat can be replaced or re upholstered to provide more thigh support. We are trying all sorts of cushions.

I agree with your assessment of a legal battle over certain issues pertaining to an accident. I do however feel that if there is an issue with certain key elements of a car, they should be fixed, or the car should be lemon lawed. Infiniti is refusing to recognize problems, this can lead to car failure, and ultimately to an accident. If Infiniti wants to bury it's head in the sand, fine - but be prepared for the consequences. All I am asking for is some service - find out what's wrong with the car. If that is not an option, then buy back this hunk of junk that I shelled out $50K+ for. It is simple, Infiniti should HONOR ITS' PROMISES!!!!!

Thanks for the forum posters who suggested manual adjusting my rebuilt (after a crash) m35x. I actually faxed over a print-out about how you can adjust the lights using one of the posts on this forum. I think the autobody shop must of thought I was nuts initially. The autobody shop contacted a infiniti tech who adjusted the lights manually and state the problem is fixed. (Initially the dealer was saying the headlights were mounted wrong and the autobody place was saying their install was perfect and that it was a "electronic" problem) It is disturbing that the local infiniti dealer (circle in nj)'s service guy didn't know about the manual adjustment and had to ask a tech!
This could mean my m35x is finally back to pre-crash specs. I would say for the other people having problem with infiniti customer service that they are NOT very helpful. They don't seem to have a lot of control over their dealers.

While it probably shouldn't be necessary, has anyone any experience on the M's with the installation of something like Dynamat noise suppression mats? Any thoughts about whether this would help much? They claim average of about 3db reduction but the cars they used as a test bed were not in this class. One comment made earlier about hearing the stereo from outside with the doors closed is quite valid...it is easily heard. My thinking is that if you could block that out, you could block some of the noise coming in as well.
