No matter what numbers I punch in my lease calculator I either get extremely low MF and/or a heavily discounted vehicle, so, like I said, just trying to better understand this offer by taking a look at the current RV and MF for 2017 RR HSE. Looking at a 2017 Range Rover V8 (MSRP about $114k). They tell me 33mo lease with 12k mikes will have 62% residual and MF of 0.00216 and that they buy rate is 0.00186. Does this sound reasonable?  This would be my first Rover. I'm used to BMW MF closer to 0.00125. Thanks for the help.

I agree with those numbers for the RR SC

You want the buy rate; politely tell them you won't sign without it.

BTW, the base MF for BMW this month is .00152

33 or 36 Month Lease.
10k-12k miles a year.

I live in Texas, so need to factor/better understand sales tax implications.

Do you know when the residual and MF info would be released for MY18?

Sales tax is calculated against the entire selling price - we suggest you roll it into the lease payment

No idea when 2018 info will be released.

I wanted to get further clarification on the sales tax component (let me know if this isn't the right forum and i can edit).

1. In the example for 33/12 @ 62% residual and MF at .00186, if i run the numbers using Calculator.net lease payments, I get the following-
Monthly Depreciation $1,395.76
Monthly Interest $365.23
Monthly Tax $110.06
Total Monthly payment- $1871.05

Now, here is where i'm a bit confused. I added 6.25% Texas Sales tax to the input section, so its calculating the total taxes owed, on a monthly increment.

If i total up 33 months of the monthly tax ($110.06), it comes out to $3631.98

BUT, total taxes due on the vehicle would be $7575, so I'm clearly not paying the entire tax liability during the lease term, but rather am paying what seems to be almost like a 'use tax'.

Is this accurate or am I missing some component here?

2. In Texas, since i'm paying sales tax on the vehicle, when the lease expires, am I able to get Tax Credit toward the next car lease/purchase?

As noted, Texas assesses sales tax against the entire selling price (I'll assume this is the $7575 amount). Either that amount is paid at signing, or you add it to the selling price as part of the cap cost.

Lease calculators cannot address this situation correctly, unless you adjust the cap cost to include the tax amount. If you do that, then simply ignore, or put in 0%, for the tax amount in the calculator.
