Thank you for the input. I agree the 335d performance was surprisingly good for a diesel, and quiet, not to mention the MPG. Did you get the listed hwy and city MPGs? How long did it take from order to delivery?

Actually the reason I have to go with a 335 not 328 is because the 328 comes with 16" wheels standard which looked too small for the size of the car, but to get the 17" the sport package is required, I tried a 328i with sport package the ride was too bumpy. Interestingly BMW is the only brand that has 16" standard, most all others have standard 17" wheels.

Surprisingly though the 335d sport with 18" wheels rode more softly than the 328i 17" sport.

I am disappointed though reading most lease deals here it seems most dealers are not willing to lease at near the bottom.

What is the money factor used?
Does this have the M Sports Package?

    Carsdirect.com quotes $48,544 for a car at MSRP $54,300.
Also how many miles per year?
Have you considered MSD (Multiple Security Deposit)?

    335i MSRP for $51550

    36 month lease

    10 Miles

    0 out of pocket

    $652 + tax per month

    or a 335D MSRP of 54,675

    1500 total drive off

    $707 a month

Are both good deals? Can I do better? Looking for input

    Hi Carman,

I've moved on to looking at BMWs over Audis due to their superior residuals and $2500 cash incentive right now. As nice as the Audi's look, I simply cannot overlook the cost differential.

So, I am looking to lease a 2010 328xi wagon for 36 months with 15k miles/year. Does it make a difference if its a manual vs. automatic? I'm probably going to go with an auto, if it does.

    I really appreciate the help!

    Thanks,
    Chris

Still no answers to the 355i or 335d MF/RV for 36mo./12k or 15k?

I used the BMW online ad to back calculate the 335i MF at 0.00144 and RV of 58% for 36/10K, am I close? How about 12k and 15k?

    Thanks.

I achieve 27 mpg in mixed driving. At 65mph, one can acheive more than 40mpg quite easily. It gets about 32mpg at a pretty steady 89mph, which is quite amazing. The suspension is tuned specifically for the d, and rides smoother than my 335i when comparing sport to sport suspensions. Hope that all helps.

Just got a quote today that seemed high. 2010 328i, pp, ipod, etc. with an MSRP of $38,170. For 10k miles/year with $1,500 cash at signing it came out to about $535/month. When I asked about the money factor, he dodged me a bit but I think he said 0.0025.

Any idea of whether this is a good deal, current with the latest numbers? Seems high based on the calculations I've run by at least a hundred dollars.
  • jimbob2010jimbob2010 Member Posts: 7
I don't think this is a good deal. MF should be 0.0016. If you have the cash, do MSD will bring MF down to 0.00111. With the $2500 spring cash incentive, your monthly payment should be less than $500 including tax...
  • seekingaudia4seekingaudia4 Member Posts: 66

MF at 0.0016? I thought Car_man said 0.0022 for 328i. Did they just lower the MF very recently?

Also reading the Edmunds 2011 328i page it appears for MY11 17" wheels are now standard, if so the 328i will be back on my list since I don't like the stiff sport suspension but want the 17" wheels, just need to know when they will offer the $2,500 rebate on the 2011 models:-)
  • lovebimmerslovebimmers Member Posts: 2
Just got quoted 0.0026 MF from another dealer on a 2010 328i with 58% residual. So far, I've only heard from 0.0025 and up from there. What gives?
  • seekingaudia4seekingaudia4 Member Posts: 66
It has been my experience from dealing with the BMW dealers that there is this level of pride and arrogance you do not see from the other dealers. I guess the higher MF proves what Car_man had said, the BMW dealers are notorious for jacking up the MF.
  • jimbob2010jimbob2010 Member Posts: 7
You are right. I was referring to the coupe. The sedan is 0.00220. My CA said there is no $2500 rebate on the 2011 models at this time...

I'm nearing the end of my current BMW lease and, as such, I'm considering the options I have before me. One option would be to lease a new BMW... after all, now seems to be quite an opportune time.

With that said, I went to the BMW website and jotted down the particulars for the current 328i Sedan offer:

    MSRP = $38,050
    Spring Drive Credit = $2,500
    Down Payment = $3,500
    Residual = $22,069
Total of Lease Payments = $12,564
    Monthly Payment = $349
    Term = 36 Months
    Security Deposit = $350
    Acquisition Fee = $725

I then went ahead and calculated what I believe is the offer-specific Money Factor. Essentially, I backed into the MF by first "solving" for the other components of the lease formula:

Lease Payment before Tax = Depreciation Fee + Finance Fee

    Deprecriation Fee = (Net Cap Cost - Residual) / Term = $277.25

Finance Fee = (Net Cap Cost + Residual) x Money Factor = $71.75...at this stage, I got to the Finance Fee by simply subtracting the Depreciation Fee above from the Monthly Payment of $349.

The only unknown above is the Money Factor, but solving for it was easy enough. What I came up with was 0.00133.

Seems quite low, especially since a couple of weeks someone posted 0.00220 as the current BMW 328i Sedan MF. Does this seem right? The math works. But the math is only as strong as the formula used... and since I got the formula from a website I found via Google, I just want to make sure I'm right.

Thanks for whatever assistance anyone can lend.

    You are missing two variables..

The money factor... and, the selling price of the vehicle (unless you are paying full MSRP?)..

Can't solve for one, without the other..

If you read the Edmunds posted lease numbers, the above deal also includes a $1400 or $1600 "dealer contribution", if you take that into consideration the MF will be higher, but still lower than 0.0022.

We have asked Car_man for the MFs and RVs for several lease scenarios, still waiting for the answers.
  • bderushbderush Member Posts: 24
Sorry for the delay. Money factor was 0.0016, purchase price was 55,100. Loving the car so far.

Hi all, I just got a quote for a 2010 328i lease, please let me know if this is a good deal:

2010 328i sedan, premium package, auto trans, xenon headlights,
space grey metallic paint, value package

    MSRP: $39,500
    Residual %: 58%
    Money Factor: .00220

    Due up-front (fees + tax+ first month payment): $5462.00
Final Monthly Lease Payment (including all taxes and finance fees): $416.88

First time to lease a BMW, and still learning my ropes.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts
  • bderushbderush Member Posts: 24
Assuming that they are contributing $2500 and thus your drive off is 2900 I would say that is probably a decent deal. Did they tell what the purchase price was?
  • zigster38zigster38 Member Posts: 117
Of all the BMW lease deals, the one for the 335d (the car I want) seems the best:

    $469 First months payment
    • $3,800 Down payment
    • $500 Security deposit
    • $725 Acquisition fee
    • $5,494 Cash due at signing

That's on a price of $47,475.00 includes premium pack and auto. With the "Eco" rebate of $4500 and also getting close to invoice, I'm sure you could get 8k off whatever they are asking for these cars. I'll talk to the dealers and keep you guys updated.
  • newbmmernewbmmer Member Posts: 4
Is the base money factor different between the coupe and sedan? For 2010 328i sedan lease, the base MF is 0.0022.

Another question is how did you negotiate the deal so that you do not have to pay additional down payment other than the $2,500 Spring Drive credit?

    Thanks

"I'll talk to the dealers and keep you guys updated. "

Please do, I am narrowing it down to the 335d too, thank you!
  • newbmmernewbmmer Member Posts: 4
No, the $2500 is not included in the Due up-front $5462. Based on what you have said, I still have a way to go to get a decent deal.

BTW, the selling price on the vehicle is $37,410, $500 above the factory invoice price. How much lower should I expect to bargain?
  • heathmacheathmac Member Posts: 9
I am getting pretty close on going with a 328i xDrive. It has the following features:

    Premium Package
    Value Package
    STEPTRONIC automatic transmission
    Heated Steering Wheel
    Navigation system

    MSRP: $42,890
    Selling: $38,390
    MF.0020
    Residual: $24,876.20 - 58%
    Due at Signing: $4,000
    36 Months 10K per year

    Total payment: $475.00

    Thoughts?
  • newbmmernewbmmer Member Posts: 4
Does the selling price of $38,390 include the $2,500 Spring Drive Credit? How much is the down payment, out of the $4,000 Due at Signing?
  • heathmacheathmac Member Posts: 9
The 38,390 does include the $2500 Spring Credit. $2,075 is the down payment out of the $4,000.
  • seekingaudia4seekingaudia4 Member Posts: 66
Personally I would email several dealers asking them if they can do the above deal, but without the $2075 down, see how close anyone can match it.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi gregzo. That's between you and the dealer. Since it is being physically delivered in March it is eligible for and will receive the $2,500 cash incentive from BMW.

Hi seekingaudia4. BMW is providing decent lease money factor support on the 2010 335i in March, but its factor on the diesel is not nearly as attractive. There isn't much support on the 2011 versions of the 335i, but since it's not that great in the first place the diesel's program for the 2011 model is about the same.

BMW Financial Services' March buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 335i with 15,000 miles per year are .00145 and 55%, respectively.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2010 335 diesel are .00250 and 54%. Interestingly, the numbers for the 2011 version of this car are exactly the same.

If you were to lease either of these cars with only 12,000 miles per year, their residual values would be 2% higher.

When negotiating your lease, make sure to take the $2,500 cash incentive that's currently available on the 335i and $4,500 on the diesel into account.

Hello jayvis. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 328xi Sedan with 10,000 miles per year are .00220 and 58%, respectively.

Hey Chris. Here's the info that you're looking for. BMW Financial Services' March buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 328xi Wagon with 15,000 miles per year are .00250 and 54%, respectively. The transmission that the car is equipped with does not have any impact upon its lease program.

Hi newbmmer. Yes, the lease programs for the 2010 328i Coupe and Sedan are different. BMW Financial Services' March buy rate lease money factor for the 2010 328i Sedan is .00220, while the factor for the 2010 328i Coupe is .00160.

The easiest way to get a good deal on a lease is to negotiate the lowest possible selling price on the vehicle that you want, including the use of any available cash incentives. Then have the dealer work up your payment using the buy rate money factor,

ok, just finishing for lease with BMW (actually they are paying for payment of $551 for April on my 2008 528I) They will lease me a 2010 328i xdrive with $1800 down for all fees and $519 mo. for all bells and whistles except navigation. Is this a good deal? This lease is for 15,000 miles for 36 mos.

I have also looked at the 2010 Lexus IS 250 AWD for $1500 down for fees etc. $450.50 mo. for 15,000 miles for 36 mo. with all the bells and whistles including navigation and back up screen and a/c seating.

And then the Audi A4 Quattro 2010 Premium Plus for $1500 down for fees etc. $481. mo and a check back to me for $551. for the April payment on my BMW. Also 15,000 miles for 36 mos.

I like all the cars. Which is the better deal?

They all want me to take receipt by tomorrow.

    Thanks for any help.

if you go with bmw, they could further waive your disposition fee of $500. Others would not be willing to go with that.

I'd also personally check C300 4matic sport, there is a great lease program with no money down and you could get 420-450/month 12K miles per year.
  • dee54dee54 Member Posts: 7
Thanks. I will check out the C300 too. Did you feel that the other deals were good? I am kind of leaning toward the Audi. Good choice?

I acutally have compared all the cars mentioned above, they are all cheaper to lease than the BMW 328, but:

    1) The Lexus IS250 is too small and clearly designed for the ladies, no disrepect if you are one of them:)

    2) The A4 has this weird LED daytime running lights and cheap looking rear end, reminded me of the cute Dodge Neon.

    3) The MB C300 4matic seriously lacked power, but otherwise is a very good looking car, need the C350 to fill the power gap, but then the cost will be up too.

So it comes back to the BMW 328 again and again...

Hi Spaceking. I believe that BMW's April incentives, including its lease program, are basically the same as they were in March. The only change that I've heard about is the introduction of a .00050 money factor reduction for loyal customers and current Audi owners.

If there is a specific trim level that you'd like program information for, let me know.
