I got it through Cerritos Infiniti in So Cal. I don't think I can post any dealer related info on here, so if you want to know more feel free to post a comment on my website.
Hey Shinng, Per your request, I posted more pics of the interior of my G37. The price I got for mine is accurate as of 2 weeks ago. My car has the new pricing though. I do want to mention one thing about the stereo system. I personally did not find the Bose system to be that much better than the one on the base, so you aren't missing too much. I was debating between the G35 Journey + Premium and the G37 base. I went with the base because its a bit cheaper ($15 per month) and I just love the styling of the coupe over the sedan. The sedan just looked kind of "bubbly" from the side. LOL. Maybe it's just me. Oh you're very welcome. I'm glad i was able to give you a different perspective. I know most people like to load up on their g37s and get it with all the goodies. The problem for me is that it kills my budget. Haha. I hope you are able to snag a base model tho, they are very rare. The good news is that most dealers I've talked to were willing to do a dealer exchange at no cost. So tat was kinda of neat. Good luck in your search, and if you got some time, drop by my site and leave me an email or comment. Love to hear how things went.
My only problem with the base model is that you can't add any options to it - none. So no moonroof, no premium pack, no sports pack, nothing. Yes, you DO get a G coupe and 99% of the folks on the road will never know it is the base "stripper" model.
But not only do you miss out on all the goodies now, my fear would be the car would be hard to move as a trade or sell it yourself with nothing on it.
The difference at invoice between a base and a journey is just $687. For that much extra you get dual zone auto climate control (the lack of this is a dead giveaway to a base car) and the CD changer. You also get the "right" to then add options - like a moonroof for another $1k (well worth it) or the premium pack. The premium pack is pretty much a must-have for me and while it is expensive has a lot of stuff in it:
Premium Package :
- Power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade - Infiniti Studio on Wheels™ by Bose® premium audio system with Burr-Brown 24-bit DAC and Driver’s Audio Stage, single-feed 6-disc CD autochanger with MP3 playback capability, Radio Data System (RDS), and eleven speakers, including 3-way component front door speakers with 10-inch woofers - Infiniti Interface System for iPod® - Heated front seats - 2-way power driver’s seat lumbar support - Memory system for driver’s seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors - Driver’s seat, steering wheel, and outside mirror position synchronization - Power tilt and telescoping steering column synchronizes gauge cluster with column for improved vision - Automatic anti-glare rearview mirror with HomeLink® Universal Transceiver and compass - Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System[1] - Heated outside mirrors
The BT works great and the moonroof is nice and to me the upgraded audio is worth it. Ipod interface, heated seats and mirrors, memory, etc, etc.
Not trying to be a "non base snob" just how I see it.
Note that the journey residual is usually 1% or 2% LOWER per IFS than the base car, so for the purposes of leasing the base car can be a little more attractive.
Dennis, Thanks for the different perspective; those are definitely valid points regarding the journey and the options.
In my current car, I don't have the luxury of dual auto climate control or moonroof so not having these wouldn't be a concern. RE: the bose system, my family owned an infiniti i30 with bose audio and to me, it did make a difference, but at this point, it's moot. My main priority is getting into a coupe that is fun to drive, yet handles well and looks good. Considering the g37 requires premium gas and the fact that insurance will go up for me (going from AWD Sedan to a Sports coupe), that's another couple expenses that I have to take into consideration.
There were no dealers within a 250 mile radius that offered just a journey without a premium package added on so the extra 3,000 to 4,000 increases the monthly payment that much more and the fact that the residual decreases from a base to journey is another factor. Oh, I didn't even mention the fact that my MF will be ridiculously high so tack on another 50-100 per month. For those that have a certain budget, the base certainly is an option that should be considered. Of course, those that can afford a g37 is probably not on a budget of under 450 a month so this entire conversation is probably a moot point.
You SNOB! Haha just kidding!!! You do have some good points. If you chose to keep the car and want to move it later, you may have some issues. Then again you may not. It all depends on what the market is later on. 5 yrs from now BT may or may not be the standard in hands-free. A lot of the "creature comforts" are very nice, and they do add to the comfort level of the car. Even if the moonroof is nice to have, in all honesty, most people I know who have a moonroof, don't use it. I know I would use it if i had it, but I don't really miss it. One thing that is sort of worth it is the ipod interface. I think it would be nice to control your iPod through the car vs having to do so via the iPod itself. Just not sure I'd spend a few thousand to have that (along with the other goodies). Heated seats, nice, but I live in SoCal. Dual climate is always useless and the Bose system isn't all that. 6-cd changer, people still listen to CDs? :P Anti-glare mirror is nice though, I do wish I had that, same with the homelink. I think it all depends on people's budget though. For me, I couldn't justify another $50 a month because I am already paying for higher insurance premiums and gas. However, if you can afford it, get it because more often than not, you will more than likely enjoy it. I don't quite think the base is the "stripper" model tho. After all, it comes equipped with far more than most cars come with at the "base" level.
Everyone should do what is right for them, since *I* am not going to pay for your lease payment, gas, or insurance .
You are correct, if you are going to lease then turn in and get something else then the resale or trade value of a base car is not your concern.
It is funny how each of us puts different values on each of the items. I don't care for the auto dimming mirror and (thankfully) Infiniti has an off button for it (but it comes back on every time you start your car). The ones I had in the past on BMWs with tinted windows could not be turned off and a REALLY hated those.
The ipod interface is nice and the BT works like a charm with my iphone. I use the moonroof all the time or at least have the sunshade open any time I am in the car.
I remember years ago I had recently got my wife a new car and was driving a Civic Si ('89 model?) and wanted/needed a sedan. I got a bonus from work so I could just afford a new Altima (94 GXE 5-speed). What I WANTED was an SE with alloy wheels, moonroof, and some other stuff. It was just a little more per month, but it crossed my line of what I would pay so I went with the GXE. I hated it the whole time I had it . In no time I could have afforded the extra of the SE and would have enjoyed the roof and the wheels and other things. The car was nice, but I hated myself for cheaping out and not getting the model I wanted. I traded it a few years later for a Contour SVT that had (wait for it) alloys and a moonroof and was the top of the line Contour .
Haahaa. Good story Dennis. It's funny, I got a similar story too. I got a 325i with premium. Loved the car but I wanted the "Sports Package" because it didn't look "COOL" enough. Fast forward 2.5 yrs later, I picked up a fully loaded A4 with premium + sports package. It was great, but the stupid engine was so weak, even my sister, who drives a Volvo V40 says my A4 was slow. HAHA, pretty sad. Fast forward 5 years and I decided that all the creature comforts do no replace having a hefty V-6 under my hood and no "bells & whistles" will bring more enjoyment than hearing the exhaust tune of my new ride :P I feel the need for speed...even if I don't drive over the speed limit 9 times out of 10. LOL

LOL. The G37 in terms of dollar to HP ratio is probably the best around. Where else are you going to get 330hp on a $403 per month lease?
I feel the need for speed...even if I don't drive over the speed limit 9 times out of 10. LOL
I tend to drive at a brisk pace, but folks blow by me all the time and many with cars with a fraction of the power of the one I am driving (unless I am in the xB). So we are not alone in wanting extra power but not using it all the time.
It is really funny when there is a car like the Accord or Camry where the buyer has a choice of a 4 banger or v6. Most have a little v6 badge on the back so you can see that they have the "bad boy". Then I get stuck behind them POKING along in traffic with 0-60 times you can measure with an egg timer and most of the time not even going the speed limit once they do top out - and they paid extra for the v6? So wanting and paying for the power is not limited to those who really use it - even those that use it 0.00% of the time felt that they had to have it too .
This forum has been extremely information while looking for my G37. I have contacted about 5 Internet Sales managers in the Tri-state area (CT, NY, NJ) inquiring about a G37 journey coupe with no (maybe moonroof) additional packages. This is because i value my monthly payment more than most of the options in the Premium package. I have asked all the dealers about the base journey coupe and they all say that there is not one in all of the northeast. Should I continue to pressure them to find one? Can't one just be ordered? One dealer said it would cost the same to order one than what he was quoting me on the Journey + Premium because of the new invoice prices.
I am also a VPP member and was recently quoted the following for a G37 journey + premium, wood trim.
MSRP: $39,675.00 VPP Sale: $36,603.92 Residual (61%): $24,201.75 MF: 0.00192 36 mo/15k miles Out of pocket: $796.00
I don't think the price went up that much, but that would almost be true for a no options car. If they ordered you a base car today it would cost about as much as an old stock journey with no options. It would still be a LOT less than a journey + premium would be, however.
They all have access to the inventories and on order for the whole country and if they can't find one then I would say there is none to find. Keep in mind, if your local dealer gets the car for you from some far away dealer your cost could be several hundred in transport charges - which wipes out the savings. They don't make any money unless you buy or lease from them, so if you are dead set on a no option base or journey they should try to sell you one if they can find it. A lot of salesfolks are really helpful and nice, perhaps one can tell you where the bare journeys are so you can contact those dealers direct and use your VPP and save on transport charges, etc.
The premium pack is very popular and most dealers (given a choice) would never order a journey or even 6mt sedan or coupe without it. I did drive a base 6mt sedan once - totally no options on it at all. I wonder if that ever sold? I think the dealer's fear that most folks are NOT like you and want all that stuff. If you don't, you don't, but to the dealers you may be in the minority.
Never put that much money into a lease - if the car is stolen or totalled you could lose it all.
The most important factor in determining if a lease is good or bad is the negotiated price of the car - which you do not state (or don't know). If the price of the car with destination and dealer's doc / prep fee is within $500 of invoice (including dest) then you have a nice price and we can move on to the lease terms. If not, then no matter what else you are paying too much.
Spoke to IFS yesterday on the new lease and lease return which i anticipate this week. When i brought up the subject of Multiple Security Deposits, they did confirm that even in the event of a loss, specifically either a theft or total loss the MSD's are not jeopardized. Every IFS lease has Gap coverage incorporated into it, which secures the MSD's.
I also received multiple quotes on a new G35X with Premium Package and 2 local NJ dealers were able to offer invoice. Just debating on the color now.
2008 G37 Journey w/Premium (MSRP 39255) 39 months 15,000/miles year Residual of 23K and change No down payment Total due at signing (including tax, tags, etc.) - $469.00
Best I have gotten from 3 quotations is $3000 down and $432 per month, tax title and license included. I would be pleased to give your salesperson another sale if you think he would duplicate the deal! Any chance to get scanned copy of the offer? Thanks.
I don't have a copy of the offer to send you cause it was all negotiated over the phone. But, I finalized the deal this past weekend and already have the car, so I know the deal is real.
I wrote a check for $469, they gave me the keys. I'll write 38 more for the same amount.
I am a lawyer, and read the paperwork a couple of times very thoroughly, and there is nothing hidden in there.
If you're looking to buy or lease, you should contact Bob Hyatt at Crossroads Infiniti in Raleigh, NC, for a good deal. I shopped it around at 4 dealerships in NC, and they had the best offer. They even drove the car to me (2 hours away) and topped it off with gas once it was here, saving me about $50 in gas and 4 hours of my time (worth another $600).
How much are you paying for the car, destination, and any dealer doc or prep fee? Get that number and look up invoice on your car with all the options on it. Compare the two numbers. If you are not close to invoice you are paying too much.
Take your money and stick it in the bank. Each month when it is time to make your lease payment take some out if you need to in order to make your payment seem low. Some months you may find you don't need to touch your savings and when you get a raise at work you may find you never do. That is a much smarter way to have a low payment than sinking all that money into the lease. If your car gets stolen or totalled your insurance pays off IFS and you lose it all. If you have it in the bank, you still have all that money.
:confuse: my way to negotiate is to read these posts, and then basically try to come in close to what appears the best offers. I live in DC where tax, 10 percent, adds a hefty amount on to monthly payment... so, taking that into consideration, I negotiated for a G35X with premium package AND navigation, a 39 month lease at $479.36 (god only knows why that precise!) with nothing down, nothing for doc fees etc... the tax is rolled into the monthly price, so in essence I'm paying $444 or so a month for the base lease price (oh, with 12,000 miles annually).
I figure that's not bad as the last Infiniti I got was 24 months at $455 a month with prem package and navigation and that had 15,000 miles a year (and in that case I did pay about $700 for "doc" fees etc, altho there was no tax as I was registered in NJ). any thots? I haven't signed my new lease yet so if you all tell me I'm way off....
otherwise, I LOVE the car even tho squeezing 2 kids in car seats in the backseat plus a friend is a pain in the neck....
Sometimes I get the feeling most people don't and ask the same questions over and over... I'm kind of tired of saying "Negotiate the price of the car, not the payments"...I don't know how you do it Dennis...I can understand Carman, he probably has the his advice in a word doc ready to copy and paste. :P

Yup 403.26 including tax. Just get the car sold to you at invoice, pay your fees and 1st payment upfront (around 1300ish) and thats it. This is for a base model, if you want the the premium package then you're looking at 50 bucks or so more. Oh did i mention u gotta have very good credit? Not saying u don't, but when it comes to leasing, that's a must.
I posted this over in the prices paid forum, but in case you don't read that forum:
Infiniti has brought back the "conquest cash" and "loyalty cash" rebate programs for June. It is available to anyone that has a current vehicle registration in their name. $350 for IFS lease deals and $1,000 for "retail" deals (3rd party lease, cash, or finance).
So I have been browsing this and a few other forums trying to figure out the numbers game and what a go0d deal is. I am lo0king and trying to make a deal on a '08 G37 6MT Blue Slate with Premium Package. From what I've seen on this forum, most people are settling on a purchase price either right at or less than $200 above Invoice Price. The dealership that has the car I want is telling me the minimum offer they would accept is $500 over invoice + tax, title, fees. I am in Lexington, KY and the dealership is in Cincinatti, OH. Should I be able to talk them down more off that price?
I was told by a dealership here that the 6MTs are kinda hard to move since most people want an automatic Infiniti. Is this true? If it is, I should be able to work that leverage in my favor, no?
gforce11, thanks again for the info. I looked at your numbers, with .00190 MF looks like you are doing a 39 month lease, correct? Based on your numbers, your residual is 63%. for a G37 39 month lease with MF 0.00190 15K mile residual is 60% (May numbers); even if you did a 10K lease, residual should still be 62%. How did you this residual or am I calculating this incorrectly?
Do you read the messages or just post? This has been asked and answered several times this month - the most recent time is 10 messages before the one you posted.
Sorry boss, didn't mean to get you upset. I asked for JUNE G37 BASE lease numbers, not the Journey or 6MT numbers you posted. I'll ask your permission before I post next time.
You actually asked for the journey and base numbers, which if you had read the previous messages you would have seen the journey numbers already.
To answer your question even with your smart @ss attitude, the base is NORMALLY 1 to 2 % higher residual than the journey and uses the same MF. Since the dealer can't change the residual whatever they tell you is right. Since you know the journey number you will be able to detect a dealer marking up the rates if the quote you higher than the buy rate on the journey. If they offer you the buy rate on the journey then I would think it likely that they would give you the buy rate on the base.
I just get tired of folks asking the same questions over and over - they pop in and want the data to be "served up" to them with no effort on their part - like simply reading the other messages in the forum.
Actually, I think it's supposed to be 61% for 15k...well I looked at my residual on my contract and it's based on 63%, so maybe a typo on their part. In any case, assuming the residual for a 12k for 39mo were 62%, that adds about 9 bucks more to your lease.
They normally add 1% to the 15k residual to get the 12k number, then another 1% (2% total) to get the 10k number. They no longer offer 10k / 24 month leases, you have to take 12k miles even if you don't need them.
Often I don't get or see the 39 month numbers, they USED to be the same as the 36 month deals but with 3 more payments which made them very attractive for most folks. Now they will often vary the residual and even MF from 36 to 39. The 39 seems to be always cheaper per month, but sometimes not by much.

Hey gperr. Here you go. Infiniti Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Infiniti G35x with 12,000 miles per year are .00131 and 71%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00150 and 61%. The addition of navigation has no impact upon this car's lease program.

Hi rjdoc74. Here's the information that you're looking for. Infiniti Financial Services' June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base 2008 G37 Coupe with 15,000 miles per year are .00192 and 63%, respectively. The residual value for a lease with only 12,000 miles per year is 1% higher and the 10k resid is 2% higher.

So I got figures on my G. They are listed below, the ones im interested in at least. I come up with totally different numbers than they do. Who's right?

Cincinnati... Good deal??

Anyone seen anything better?
Net Cap = $32,647
Residual (70%) = $26,936
Total Depreciation = $5,711
monthly pmt = $325
cash due = $5,325

still good? i need a low monthly pmt.

Please provide June's RV & MF for 08 F35 Journey w/ Premium & Navi for the following:
24 w/ 12 & 15 miles/mo.
36 w/ 12 & 15 miles/mo.
39 w/ 12 & 15 miles/mo.
42 w/ 12 & 15 miles/mo.
48 w/ 12 & 15 miles/mo.
Thanks,
RL
If you really meant G and not F, I posted the May lease numbers back in May and was told Monday that they are the same for June.

Sorry, it was my typo...it is the G35 Journey w/ Premium & Navi.

I'm kind of tired of saying "Negotiate the price of the car, not the payments"...I don't know how you do it Dennis...I can understand Carman, he probably has the his advice in a word doc ready to copy and paste. :P

$403.26, is that including tax? Thanks a lot!
Infiniti has brought back the "conquest cash" and "loyalty cash" rebate programs for June. It is available to anyone that has a current vehicle registration in their name. $350 for IFS lease deals and $1,000 for "retail" deals (3rd party lease, cash, or finance).

Thanks in advance.
Could someone post June #s for G37 base and journey for 10, 12, and 15K miles?
Thanks a lot.
Thanks again
Dennis

Often I don't get or see the 39 month numbers, they USED to be the same as the 36 month deals but with 3 more payments which made them very attractive for most folks. Now they will often vary the residual and even MF from 36 to 39. The 39 seems to be always cheaper per month, but sometimes not by much.
