You didn't say what numbers you got and if these numbers include taxes, TTL, or other fees.
For 39 month I get $431.21 base payment. If I roll in the $595 bank fee I get a base payment of $447.60. To get a base payment of nearly $475 you would have to roll in the bank fee and another $1k of "something" (dealer doc fee, taxes, TTL, accessories, etc). If the dealer's quote includes sales tax, then who knows what it should be - we don't know your tax rate.
I figured out he was adding in the 595 bank fee to the cap cost, just didnt tell me. When I stuck that in there, it was almost to the penny same calculations.
I just signed a lease about a week ago for a 2008 G35x with Premium, Splash Guards and Cargo Net (no tech or nav packages)
I am paying $449 per month (including tax) with only the first month payment ($449) and $70 registration due at signing. 23 payments remaining. 24 month lease term with 12,000 miles annually.
I found this site very helpful in demonstrating the market prices for recent leases. I did not get into negotiating residual pricing, money factors, etc. I let the dealer do his job and reach my number.
Based on previous posts it seems like one of the best deals out there. The dealership is in NY. Let me know if anyone wants more details.
Hey everyone, I'm Anthony and new here, but not to forums. I currently own an 05 350Z and love it. Now i'm looking to lease a G37 for my GF and looking to get a great deal.
So in doing my research on how leases work, i dissected the Nationally Advertised Lease Deal that Inifiniti is offering... 08 G37 Journey with Premium Package for $399/month (excluding tax) and $3399 due at signing ($3k down payment and $399 first months payment). It comes to be a 61% residual with a money factor of 0.0019 for qualified credit customers. MSRP of $39,615.
Now, i had a few questions.... First...is this not a horrible deal?? i say this because (granted that you have the good credit rating), couldn't you really just negotiate the MSRP to a cap cost of at or around Invoice Price??? if this were possible, you wouldn't have to put money down and you would still have a cheaper payment.
Am i missing something that actually makes this ad a good deal?? or do most of you agree that this is a bad deal?? (considering if you had the credit to qualify)
Also, does anyone know the Credit Tier system that Inifiniti's Financial dept uses to base their APR/Money Factor???
RE: the lease deal that runs through June, this attracts those consumers who don't understand leases. That's why they advertise the 399/month and put the 3999 down in little print. Those on this forum know that 1. you should put as little down as possible and 2. the msrp can be negotiated down so you can actually get a better deal, like you said, than the advertised deal.
RE: your question about credit tier system, what exactly are you asking? If you're asking what the credit tier system is for IFS, i.e. tier 1 ranges from 720+, tier 2 ranges from 6xx-7xx, etc, then search back a month or 2 as Dennis posted the ranges. If you're asking what the MF is for each tier system, then no there is not. I asked this too because I have bad credit. Basically it is on the Finance Dept to mark up the MF appropriately and because of the bad credit, different dealers can possibly provide different MF. The only thing constant would be the residual which cannot be negotiated. MF cannot be negotiated, but if you have bad credit, the numbers can differ for different dealers.
geat thats the answer i was looking for. so just to clarify, to qualify for the best MF infiniti has to offer, i must be in atleast Tier 1 which is a 720+ credit score??
I am looking to lease a G35x sedan, with the prem, Nav, and 15000mi. If i were to put 2500 down how low do you guys think i could get the payment (*note i am a vppd customer). Right now the special at one dealership is running the following:
Lease Offer - 2008 Infiniti G35x AWD, MSRP $36,025, (model 90618 with Sunroof) 24 months, 12,000 miles per year, $349/month, $2717 initial payment. Offer expires 6/30/08 *
Does that model include Prem and Nav? would the montly payments be cheaper if i were to spread this out to a 36 month lease? Would it be easy to negotiate the extra miles? I have never leased a car before but the deals at infiniti are pretty good i just want to see how low i can get the payments and get the best deal. Any help is appreciated.
IFS tier 0 is 740 and up, tier 1 is 700-739. You have to be in 0 or 1 to get the best rate on a lease. If you are not, then you will pay more but AFAIK there is no formula to tell you how much more.
As was mentioned, the advertised lease special is usually not a very good deal. You need to negotiate a much lower price on the car, then apply the lease residual and MF and see where the payments stand.
I HOPE you meant "help my girlfriend get a lease on a G37 which will be in her name alone" and not really meant "leasing my girlfriend a G37" as you typed. Never, never, lease something for someone else unless you are married or related to them by blood and are 100% sure they will be around for the term of the lease. If you really going to "lease he a car" I would buy her a car instead. It is a whole lot easier to get out from under a financed car if things go bad then to try to get out of a lease.
well as others warned of, manhattan infiniti is advertising and quoting open-end leases. I ended up picking up my G37 with Prem & NAV from another dealer on long island for $496 incl tax on a 24mth 12kmi/yr. Out of pocket was 1,600 which incl 1st mth, infin doc $595, plates and other misc.
These should all be 15k residuals, it would be +1% for 12k and +2% for 10k (10k not available on 24 month leases). These should be the buy rates for IFS top tier (0 and 1) lessees. Not everyone will qualify for these rates and many Infiniti dealers routinely mark up the buy rate for extra profit.
See below the quote I have received (they are claiming it is invoice price, not certain but looks close):
2008 Infiniti G37 Sport 6MT Ivory Pearl/Stone Stock #C8113 Equipped with Trunk cargo net, Illuminated kick plates, Premium Package, Splash guards, Rear Spoiler, and Trunk mat
10k miles/year .0019 and 63% MSRP MSRP 40,945 Sales Price 37,400 (can anyone confirm this is invoice-looks diff. than carsdirect.com)
Total out of pocket is 2500 made up:Your Cap cost reduction totals out to $1322.06 as $434.17 + $1322.06 + $133.77 (upfront sales tax) + $21 (title & license) + $589 (doc fee) = $2500.
Lease payment is 425.19 including 7% sales tax and all fees.
I do get VPP pricing plan D however think this is a few hundred cheaper.
Current pricing shows: $41,410 MSRP and $37,821 Invoice. I would assume the car you are looking at is one or two price increased behind. $465 is the MSRP difference, so figure invoice is about the same amount cheaper - or $37,356 which is about that they say.
You are paying a whopping $589 doc fee so even if they sell you the car for "invoice" you are paying $589 over.
Since you have a VPP claim code, you should do as I did, find a dealer with little or no doc fee and buy it for the VPP price and save the extra money.
I would not put more than 1st payment or maybe 1st payment and tags down on a lease and for sure not all the money they are asking for.
I got mine from Harper in Knoxville. They have no doc fee and don't mark up the lease rates. If they have a 6mt to lease you it would be at the VPP price with $0 additional. Might be worth the drive to go get it - it is not that far but premium is well over $4 a gallon now.
You can contact me via my profile if you want more info.
You are correct, with that dealer's high doc fee you are better off at invoice + doc fee than the VPP price + doc fee. A net of nearly $600 over is not that bad for a coupe, I don't think, and 6mt models can be hard to find. When I get a minute I can try to run the numbers and see if they match, but otherwise that is an OK deal.
Not that I know of, just the state where you live. I have leased cars from all over - WI, CT, OH, KY, and GA and never had a problem. If you are buying a car and want to finance the sales tax, it does get a little more complex. But if you are paying cash or only financing the car, you can just pay the sales tax at the DMV when you title the car and buy or x-fer tags.
If you lease from IFS it will be a closed end lease. If you do a 3rd party lease you will have to check the contract language. Some have it clearly printed at the top of the lease form "Closed End Lease Agreement" or words to that effect.
With the IFS residuals and rates any 3rd party lease for any normal term (24, 36, or 39 months) that is CHEAPER than an IFS lease is almost sure to be an open end lease.
Can someone please run a lease calculation on this? I have done it myself but come up with a payment a little less than they are quoting.
6MT w/ premium, spoiler, kick plates, net, trunk mat MSRP 40695 Sales Price 37080 .0019 and 63% MSRP 10k miles/year
I would be paying 2500 up front total out of pocket. Unfortunately the doc fee is 589 here and they wont budge on that. dmv about $20. Tax included (8%)
So...up front cash 2,500 and they want $420/month. Please let me know what you guys think of the monthly and also the sales price. Of course the 589 doc fee sucks but I can't get them to wiggle.
Hey folks - new poster here - have been browsing the forum for a while and it's been a great help. Maybe somebody can help with my conundrum here...
I'm looking for a G35, black/black, with Prem, Sport, and Nav packages. I have received a quote from a dealership here in Dallas for an MSRP of 40,500 (has a couple add ons, mats and whatnot), a selling price of 38,700, and a 36 month lease of $599 a month, nothing down.
Now, in looking at this, I'm still having trouble getting to the $599 using the current residuals and money factor, although when you include sales tax and other fees it gets pretty close to that.
It's just that after reading through these forums, I was expecting to get pretty close to invoice on the sales price. The way he put it was that adding on all those options, specifically the Sport, and wanting it in black, really whittled down the cars available to me. In fact, he showed me in his system that that was the only one in the Dallas area (with everything I wanted).
Any ideas on this? I feel I could get him to come down a bit, but he told me if I was willing to forego the Sport package it could move it down into the low 500s. Anyone experienced anything like this? Of course, the Sport is the package I want the most - I am not a huge fan of the 17 inch wheels on the regular version.
Any feedback is appreciated, including if it's telling me I'm dumb for one reason or another...
I would not have a black car - shows every ding, scratch, and speck of dust no matter how you try to keep it right. If I lived in TX I REALLY would not own a black car - way too hot and sunny for that. Maybe if you forgo the need for a black car in one of the hottest states in the union you could get a better deal on a sports pack car?
Also, if the dealer you are working with does not have the car on their lot then to where the car is and try to work a deal with them. It could be that particular car has a bunch of dealer add ons that are jacking up the price. My local dealer, for example, puts over $1k of junk on every car so no dealer wants to trade cars with them and they always have lots of stock.
You could also talk with dealers outside the TX area (areas farther north) where black sports pack cars might be easier to find.
Ask them if you get a nice silver or red G w/sport how would the price be.
Leasing in TX hurls anyway, since they make you pay sales tax on the entire purchase price of the car. They did have some "tax rebate" deal going on where you somehow got out of some or all of the tax, but it sounds like that has now ended.
While I agree with you on black showing every ding, scratch and speck of dust, its is an old wives tale that a black car is hotter in the sun, sort of. While a black car will heat up quicker in the sun, once any car is in the sun for a while they are going to be the same temperature, no matter the color.

I am looking to lease a G35x sedan, with the prem, Nav, and 15000mi. If i were to put 2500 down how low do you guys think i could get the payment (*note i am a vppd customer).
Errr...not quite. I've owned a Black/Black car and I currently have a White/Wheat (sounds like bread, lol), neither have/had tinted windows and I can tell you for a fact that the black car is MUCH hotter after it sits under the sun all day. The color black absorbs heat while white reflects it. If you touch a black car and a white car that have been sitting under the sun for a few hours, you'll notice the black car is 10 times hotter than the white.
Get a couple of thermometers and test the theory since you have both cars. I think darker cars heat up faster and are a little hotter inside that lighter color cars, but the difference is not as dramatic as EXTERIOR temp is.
While they look superb when clean and waxed, I would not want a black car - too easily shows all dust, dirt, and dings. The interior is probably a little hotter that a lighter color would be (10 degrees or less?) but the exterior temp will be a LOT hotter and you still have to touch the trunk lid, the doors, etc.
Good window tinting probably has more effect that color choice, but saving a few degrees getting a lighter colors seems worth it too. I have Covercraft windshield sun shields on a couple of cars and those REALLY help cut down the heat along with tinted side and back glass.
How are you doin' today Mr. Carman!? I am interested in this vehicle with those specific packages. I would like to know the MF and RES for this vehicle for IFS's 24/36/39 mo. program with an allowable mileage of 15k/yr. Thanks alot.
I am going to pay these costs up front, as well as do a 1300 cap cost reduction. I like the sales price as it is a bit below invoice. Let me know what you guys think and if I can get any lower on the price...
Finally leased a new G35X this week. Got it in Blue Slate with the Premium Package, Wood Trim, Splashguards, Cargo Net.
The the deal came up $445 a month with no money down for 24 months with 15k miles. The $350 conquest came off at the end and was a great bonus (thanks for the heads up Dennis).
Had a very poor experience with Infiniti Of Englewood. Initially they quoted me one price but at the dealership they tried to change the terms. Avoid them like the plague.
Which dealership in NJ did you use? I have a quote for g35X, prem., nav, wood trim - black with wheat interior for $1,500 out of pocket and $534/month - 24 months, 20K miles per year. I also get conquest lease cash. If I use your number as a base and add miles & nav I should get a deal at $513 or so. Did you take it off the lot? They have to get mine.
Congratulations on the new G! Is the interior graphite, wheat, or stone?
Glad I could help out, but SURELY your dealer would have told you about the cash, right? And SURELY they would have have slipped a form in with rest that said "dealer retains customer cash" and fail to take that off your price, right?
I just checked and the Edmunds incentives page still does not list the conquest / loyalty cash on the G sedans....
Can anyone recommend a dealer in NJ who has low upfront fees?
Dealership I went to tonight quoted $1,800 which I feel is far too high. From what I recall the fees went as so
$595 acquisition fee (fine) $575 1st month payment (fine but I hadn’t started negotiating yet) ~$330 state registration $7 tire fee ~$300 was the final figure for something else which may have been title etc.
You need to negotiate the price of the car first and not worry about the money due at signing or payment - at first. Once you have a deal near invoice for the car, destination, and dealer fee then apply the conquest cash / loyalty cash and then start worrying about the payment. Roll in the bank fee on top of your price along with anything else you don't want to have to pay, then figure out what the payment is with just the first payment due at signing.
As soon as you mention a lease most dealers will start talking payments and totally ignore the price of the car. Why? Because if you don't know what you are paying for the car you can't know if you have a good deal or not - which is the way the dealer wants it.
You are in control, once you have a low price you decide how much to put into the deal or how little (depending on IFS approval, of course) and go from there.
They changed ownership at Englewood recently and the internet manager is a woman, not a man. Unless the person whom you spoke to claims to now be the internet manager. In any event, they changed the deal when it came time to sell the vehicle. Their finance person tried to weasel around the facts, but it was clear as day that he tried to put one over. Use your own judgement.
Congratulations on the new G! Is the interior graphite, wheat, or stone?
Graphite Interior. Little feet can get the interior messy.
Glad I could help out, but SURELY your dealer would have told you about the cash, right? And SURELY they would have have slipped a form in with rest that said "dealer retains customer cash" and fail to take that off your price, right?
One can only hope that they are that honest, but my experience dealing with 4 different dealers is that they fail to mention the conquest/loyalty cash. For the most part they attempt to throw in the customer cash as a down payment and increase the capitalized cost. In essence, more money in their pocket. The problem i came across is that most contracts are not as simple as we discuss here on the forum. The costs and credits are listed in the contract in ways that is not always easy to understand or disect. What made it easy for me was that i knew the bottom line price i wanted to pay and what costs are associated wtih the purchase, so no matter how they plugged in the numbers i knew my bottom line price i was going to pay on the vehicle and what my out of pocket expenses are going to be.
I just checked and the Edmunds incentives page still does not list the conquest / loyalty cash on the G sedans....
To be honest my contract is not easy to understand because the capitalized cost was higher than what i had anticipated, but the difference came off in a different way still yielding the same net monthly payment and the same cash outlay. I received the customer cash in a reduction in my first month payment. The dealers DO NOT advertise the customer cash, in fact they are all startled by the fact that someone walks in knowing that it exists.
I used Lynnes Infiniti, but i also utilized their Multiple Security Deposit program to reduce the money factor which brought down the montly payments. I'm not sure how your monthly figures would vary but i suggest you use a lease calculator. It was also my impression that depending on how they spread out the down payment the monthly payment can vary a little. What i mean by this is if either the tax or tags are paid up front versus the cash going for something else the numbers could change. Again, i was perusing my own contract and this was my impression.
G35x Premium & Sport packages, cargo net and splash guards MSRP= $39,130 Invoice= $35,810 Offer price= $35,760 [$36,110 ($300 over invoice) minus a $350 lease rebate]
$479/month 36 months $0 down 10K miles
He also threw in free maintainence for a year and free oil changes. He even spoiled me by including an Infiniti hat and mug.
I've been reading these posts for weeks now and would just like to know you guys think $479/month is a good deal? I was thinking to pay the $595 acq. fee upfront, do you think that is a good idea? thanks in advance.
I'm shopping around for a G37 in town and none of them will budge on the price of a 2008 G37. Looking at an IP/Wheat with Sport, Premium, Nav. One dealer has this exact combo in stock and wants $42,967. MSRP is $44,300 and the invoice is $40,500. Here are the lease terms:
36 month/12K miles 62% residual .00220 MF - the sales manager claims the Finance dept. needs to make a profit too... $2800 down - this is the trade-in ~$650/month (including 6.25% sales tax) with 2-year/30K miles free maintainence
Obviously this is ridiculous. Can anyone offer me any advice? At this point I'm willing to go out of state to get better lease terms. Evidently people here have been getting G37s close to invoice and I would appreciate names of the dealers.
I got an IP with wheat interior, 6MT, premium, kick plates, cargo net, spoiler for a few hundred under invoice from Nalley Infiniti in Marietta. You can definitely do invoice or better with the close arrival of the 2009...
Does anyone have information on what will be different for 2009 and when the 2009 models will be available? i figure the 09s should be available later this year and if this is the case, is it not better to wait for the 09s to arrive and lease a 2009 model (rather than a 2008) for a higher residual?
The email and phone calls were with a man. When I go in for a test drive I met him and he passed me alomg to the woman, they were sort of a tag team. Deal was seemed legit, $1,600 out of pocket $445 a month 12k miles per year, written on the contract. I was aware of the change in owners in the dirty tactics they were pulling as my cousin was a victim. At the end of his lease for an FX35 he was told they were going to "waive" his overage on miles. Sure enough he got hit with a $1,700 bill a month later. He went berserk at the dealer and called Infinit customer service almost daily for two weeks. Customer service credited out his bill. I told them I would come back the next day. Went to Ramsey (they sold my wife her 2006 G35X) they honered the same deal as long as I took something they had in stock, and they gave me the $350 conquest rebate. So I only gave $1,250 out of pocket. Got a G35X, Blue Slate, black interior, Nav, Premium, Wood Trim, Splash Guards, Cargo Net $445mo 12kmiles per year.
The few hundred under invoice does not include the 500 doc fee. So, factoring in the excessive doc fee I am about 100 over invoice. Got them to throw in a tint job at no cost though.

I am having trouble finding a dealer in Atlanta with a doc fee less than $500; and they all say it is non-negotiable. Is this true?
I do have a VPP claim code however the price she gave me for VPP was 37,697 opposed to this "invoiced" 37,400.
Does this look like a reasonable monthly payment for the figures I provided? I calculated it out myself however come up with something a bit less.
Finally, doc. fee aside, is this a decent deal...should I shoot for lower?

When I get a minute I can try to run the numbers and see if they match, but otherwise that is an OK deal.

With the IFS residuals and rates any 3rd party lease for any normal term (24, 36, or 39 months) that is CHEAPER than an IFS lease is almost sure to be an open end lease.

The color black absorbs heat while white reflects it. If you touch a black car and a white car that have been sitting under the sun for a few hours, you'll notice the black car is 10 times hotter than the white.

Blue slate, prem, nav, splash guards, cargo net, 15k miles, wood trim
Which dealership in NJ did you use? I have a quote for g35X, prem., nav, wood trim - black with wheat interior for $1,500 out of pocket and $534/month - 24 months, 20K miles per year. I also get conquest lease cash. If I use your number as a base and add miles & nav I should get a deal at $513 or so. Did you take it off the lot? They have to get mine.
Thanks
Glad I could help out, but SURELY your dealer would have told you about the cash, right? And SURELY they would have have slipped a form in with rest that said "dealer retains customer cash" and fail to take that off your price, right?
I just checked and the Edmunds incentives page still does not list the conquest / loyalty cash on the G sedans....

Dealership I went to tonight quoted $1,800 which I feel is far too high. From what I recall the fees went as so
$595 acquisition fee (fine)
$575 1st month payment (fine but I hadn’t started negotiating yet)
~$330 state registration
$7 tire fee
~$300 was the final figure for something else which may have been title etc.

Obviously this is ridiculous. Can anyone offer me any advice? At this point I'm willing to go out of state to get better lease terms. Evidently people here have been getting G37s close to invoice and I would appreciate names of the dealers.
Thanks!
Is that a few hundred under invoice INCLUDING the $500 doc fee or did they add that on top of your price?
Dennis
Went to Ramsey (they sold my wife her 2006 G35X) they honered the same deal as long as I took something they had in stock, and they gave me the $350 conquest rebate. So I only gave $1,250 out of pocket. Got a G35X, Blue Slate, black interior, Nav, Premium, Wood Trim, Splash Guards, Cargo Net $445mo 12kmiles per year.
