maincowgirl: Solid Dark Toreador Red looks really good, IMHO. Especially with the chrome bumpers. I am thinking that if I could find some chrome strips that go around the wheel wells, that would really set the red off nice. Only problem with the color so far is that it does show when you truck needs a wash!

racing: my config. is a little different than the one you are looking at: F250, Lariat, CC, 4X4, PSD. When I first picked it up from the dealer, the MPG computer was telling me 13 MPG. This is a combination of city/highway driving. As we burned through the first tank, MPG kept climbing. We have started into our second tank of gas, and the MPG computer is showing just over 15. Hope it keeps climbing.

rghowe: hop on over to the Burlington-Northern Web site (www.bnsf.com) and use the "VIN Tracing" tool to track the current location of your truck.

    Hello MC & Lilemo

Hummm freezing rain in Wyoming in Feb. this is really bizarre. Thats back east weather

MC Performance Products has a pretty good catalog for Ford stuff and SD's. I think you can sign up for one on the main Edmunds page or go to www.performanceproducts.com and get one sent out to you.

The big dog will try and put her head in your lap if you leave the window down and are not paying attention. But as far as inside the truck it is only Springers and Aussie's, got to love those town and country eyes of the aussie's.
Have fun waiting and leering at the SD's you see drive by, one of those hurts so good things.

lilemo if you only have one week to wait for your order stick with it, there is nothing like getting a truck that you oderd exactly like you want. I almost took one off the lot after mine was on order but it was a different color, I decided to wait the two months and get what I wanted. And believe me I was glad I did.
mainecowgirl I think the red over gold would be a sharp looking combination but if you like it with silver better it should be easy to have it added after you get it either by the dealer or any paint shop.
racing,I have a 00 F350 PSD CC DRW 4.10 I get 13 mpg empty, it has been that wa since day one, I now have over 4000mi on it and still get the same mpg no improvement at all. When I load my slide in Lance camper approx 3000lb I get about 9mpg. This at hwy driving ninety percent of the time at speeds of 70 to 75 mph. From what I have read at FORD DIESEL . COM this is about normal. Don"t exspect any great mileage from this combo, but it doe's have a great amount of pulling power.

I thought the Bassett Hound should have taken the top prize.....but that is what makes it interesting.....everyone has a diff. opinion. Just took "Moose" to the vet to get weighed...14 months old...175 pounds. He doesn't get to ride in the truck...goes in wife's windstar....have to take middle seat out...but he sticks head out of front window....likes to look at and bark at people when stopped at light....scared the beejesus out of an old lady about a month ago....
My 2 cents worth on color....I like the t.red color by itself. Don't care too much for dual color combos. But again...comes to personal preference.
Geez....gas prices going sky high here....had to pay 1.31 for 87 octane yesterday....sucks!!......

racing, I have 00,psd,cc,sb,2wd,swd,6spd manual,3.73ls,265 tires, xlt. I have been getting nothing lower than 20 mpg per tank, some tanks I get 21+ mpg. All my driving so far has been no load, solo, combination hywy-city. I have only about 2800 mi on my truck. I love it!!

try $1.37 for the same stuff. went up $.08/gal overnight. anyway, back to the trucks. it has been discussed that the headlight switch in our trucks does not have the contacts to operate foglamps. instead of buying the $250 ford kit to get that switch, has anybody thought about getting a switch from a 97-99 f-150 that does have the contacts. I'm pretty sure it is the same switch, and since foglamps are a factory option, a replacement part for the switch should be available. Just a thought...

I think the fender flares give a real nice look, especially on a two tone, as it brings the lower color over the wheel wells (aka like the two tone F-150s with the flares). The fender flares are available from your dealers parts department, and come in most paint colors. They say it takes about an hour to put them on. They should give them to you at cost or close to it and put them on for you when you get your truck. If you want a catalog E mail me your address at rhannford@netscape.net and I will be glad to send you one, I have an extra.

I have found that the hardest decision to make is usually the correct one. Yesterday,I decided to wait on the black one and learned today that my ordered truck (the red one) has moved from the plant to the depot in Atlanta and will be in maybe early next week. The fleet guy said I might could pick it up Saturday, but I'm going hiking Sat/Sun. Oh well, Hooray anyways!

    Thanks for the reinforcement.

been busy writing dsl router "firewall" & not much time to read posts these days. first, the firewall. some mentioned (very justifiably) that people need to be aware of a "hacked" entry to your network if you leave your machines up & network equipment active... which we've been unable to do since the dsl connect became active due to security being compromised. for those interested in dsl connects (which is on the way for everyone over the next 5 years or so) you need to be aware that you need a firewall installed somewhere within your system b4 you use the WAN connect (Wide Area Network... which the internet is a part of). The best location is within the network equipment itself. The downside here is that you need specialized software knowledge in regard to writing network firewall scripts (and installing them)... not the most common knowledge lying around, that is for certain. another practical approach is to purchase "3rd party" software that installs to your OS (Operating System)... someone mentioned this above. that's the way to go if you lack the above mentioned expertise (or simply don't want to be bothered with another learning curve). apologize for the off topic discussion but this is very important once you decide to take the dsl "plunge".

The truck is running great. As we write this, the beast is finally getting the fiver rails installed, then the spray-in liner (right over top of the rails). then the trailer brake. then we finally get to try the beast out on yanking our 10K fiver around! hopefully sometime this weekend. will post results. taking a 10 day trip next week & following & can't wait.

crazyElvis... Ken called me the other day asking about the truck. NO PROBLEMS at all. he also asked about customer entry into the vopc. Ford finally did "it"... they passworded the entry. only a matter of time. however; Ford is working on a system that will allow customers to track their trucks even more accurately than the vopc (which for us... sucked canal water, anyhow)! He's not very big on the idea of customers NOT being able to use the vopc any longer because he really liked us not "bugging" him constantly about status. Ford needs to get this new system of vehicle tracking implemented NOW. AND... are we EVER getting those fuel increases over here too! $1.62 for diesel #2. unreal. hey, looks like it is really going to start costing us to run these things. mileage around 15-16 with mostly city. we've got the 4.1 diff but thought mileage would be a little better than this unloaded around town.

as mentioned, first BIG pull this weekend.. will post results b4 leaving on our 1st trip with "Godzilla" (nickname of our fiver) in tow.

gossamar... the cinnamon rolls aren't going to make us any thinner. great.

I got some good news today...My truck is in at the dealer. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get to Oklahoma but it'll be worth the wait. Oh yeah: 8 WEEKS from order to arrival!! Yabba Dabba Doo, I'm almost a "have".

350, SD, SC, 4X4, V-10, Auto, LS, Deep Wedgewood over Silver. $100 over invoice.
Billingsley Ford, Lawton OK, talk to Carl.

Reg. 87 was $121.9 today here northeast of Atlanta at Quick Trip. I was paying around $1.40 last August in Buena Vista,CO. on our "big trip west." I was shocked. $1.37/Denver, now, sounds "not too bad." It was less than $.90/gal. here at the time. I remember when I got out of school back in '79 how gas was about $1.25/gal. No real change in 20 years. Diesel today at the same QT was running $1.399/gal.

Let's see now, if a V10 SD gets 13 mpg, and a PSD SD gets about 15 mpg, that's about 15.3% difference. If gas is $1.219 and diesel is 1.399/gal, that's about 14.7. Hmmm.....

Now, way back when I USED to work for BP (in the bad old 80's), we always figured EVERY retail angle we could figure to maximize profit at the pump, (you know, product mix-profit margin-gallons sold, capacity, spot market, etc.), so do you all reckon those greedy bas***ds can calculate that our dieseling friends were saving too much money and big oil wanted it, too? Coincidence?

Can't wait for the truck!! It's like Christmas when I was a kid.

Question: Is the anticipation of delivery considered Fordplay?
  • lilelmolilelmo Member Posts: 144
It is said that if you die and go to hell, you'll have to change planes in Atlanta. If by chance you also go to VA this way, why don't you phone around while you're here?

Check out Akins Ford in Winder, GA; Jefferson Motors in Jefferson,GA and Jacky Jones Ford in Cleveland, GA. All should be area code 706. Jacky Jones also has a 770 number which is an Atlanta #. These three dealers usually have 30-40 SDs sitting around. All sell tons of fleet orders all over the place.

Jefferson Motors has a guy named Don Hicks who wheels & deals with dealers like mad, swapping stuff left and right (all new)every day from all over the south. He found two different 4x4,250 SDs, both V10s, for me in two weeks, but neither was "just right." Heckuva salesguy, I wish he'd a found the right one, I'd have bought it. Good ol' boy, but he knows his stuff.

He just sold 200 new pickups to a rental equip. house here. All got LineX liners by the way. Did you ever see 200 white Ford pickups sitting together? Looks like it snowed!

Akins had no V10s on Friday last week, but Jacky Jones has 5-6 on order (but you can't have mine). They've got tons of SD SuperCabs, most with diesels, some with 5.4s. Fleet guy is named "Hal."

We're about a good day's drive from anywhere in Virginia. Good luck. Hang in there.

we passed on a red 00/350/cc/lariat/srw/4x4,etc. because the color was nice, but not quite what we wanted (woodland green xlt is our order). but if anyone is interested, it's at thibideau ford in detroit - they would sell it at invoice. talk to phil bryant, the sales manager.

Thanks for the leads. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending upon one's perspective, I am sked to go through Cincinatti and not Atlanta. I will probably follow up with both the leads you provided once I make it home. Sounds like my truck was delivered to Detroit by mistake! It might have been built and shipped on the lewac express and lost ever since!

Going to take the plunge next Thurs. (24th) and get my exhaust system put in. It will be a flowmaster with two mufflers and 22 inch tips (4 inch diameter). He just put one on another 00 F250 V10 and said the sound was fantastic. Can't wait...I miss the old sound of my 97 F150.
Mainecowgirl.....the bassett was definately the underdog...but I think the crowd favorite based on the applause for him. My daughter was happy with the champion though....her name is Samantha....

First post. Stumbled across this site during Cont IV. Went back and read from II to present. Striking thing is the civility here. Anonimity seems not to have changed folks much. Well, I've done a ton of research and am now seriously looking for the right deal. Got a couple quotes this am. One was local through one of the online places(so far useless). Local guy quoted me msrp. Talked about demand and long order times and...Just doesn't want to sell me a truck. Found a dealer with a couple of trucks online and figured I'd roll the dice, tell him what I wanted and see if either was a close fit. Checked my mail an hour later for something else and the guy had a quote of $500 over invoice for the truck on the lot. He says it has a toolbox and class III (confirming) hitch. Most of the ones in this area that have the tool boxes also have a bed liner so I need to check that too. Don't really want any of these. Next closest has been $1200 over so I'm a little excited. Don't know yet if he'll go lower if I ordered, but this is very close. I can live with the snow plow prep instead of camper pkg and the only other thing I wouldn't have ordered is the keyless entry.
bess- you mentioned a factory to dealer rebate of $500 for psd 6spd. Is this current? It's not on edmunds list and I don't know where else to look. If I had it in writing I might be able to use it or at least get them to take off the tool box if their getting holdback plus $500. It doesn't sound like anyone in New England is getting great deals unless they order and this is so close it's probably worth the little bit extra $.
Maingowgirl/Brutus- www.rhinolinings.com is back up. i don't know if you had your heart set on line-x but think I remember you saying you couldn't find a rhino dealer. I work down the street from the Plymouth line-x guy. Havn't needed to talk with him yet but saw his work in the GMC of the detailer who works out of the same building. Looks good but you'd expect it for a neighbor and free advertising. Proves he's capable of doing good work though.
-I'm curious. I've seen sites that delete the spare when you configure with camper pkg. does the sway bar interfere? Anyone know if this is true.
Way too long for a first post. Thanks to all for the great info. It's already been invaluable and I havn't even bought a truck yet.
-BTW crazy elvis. When I went to see santa on the ustafish I brought along a bud and made a snow angel.
  • oturner1oturner1 Member Posts: 34
I have camper package, class IV towing package, and a spare tire. Everything fits nicely and the sway bar is free and clear.

Hope you find the truck you want. Good hunting!
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
I origionally got this info from edmunds and confirmed with my dealer months ago when I was purchasing my truck. BUT I just check on edmunds again and I don't see it, so it must not be available now. I've been pretty impressed by the accuracy of the edmunds site..

Also, it was a factory->dealer incentive so there was no requirement for them to pass it on to us folks anyway

btw: I've always liked the keyless entry..

I've got the camper package, class IV hitch and spare tire.

jepson, I'm a Reds fan, say hello to Jr. and Deion on the way through Cincy. Oh wait. They have Spring training Florida, so I guess should address this to crazy, lewac, et al.

Just checked the rail site, my truck left the Louisville plant last night at 6:15 pm on the way to Naperville, Ill. Baring no snowstorm delay......and heaven forbid a derailer.....now I can join the Train Watchers Group....Let's see that will be 5 months waiting. 00 CC Lariat 4X4
Woodland Green 5.4 4.1LS TT and other goodies including a full wrap around cow pusher, a Z Series A.R.E. Cap.
  • BrutusBrutus Member Posts: 1,113
Devil Rays will be fun to watch. Lots of power. As with every team, the big question mark will be pitching. Obviously, we've got no major league pro sports up here in Anchorage, but I've been fortunate to live in places where I have been able to see lots of games. I haven't seen any in Florida yet, but I've seen games at Anaheim Stadium, Jack Murphy in San Diego, Dodger Stadium, Candlestick, Oakland, The Ballpark in Arlington (I lived two blocks from the stadium), the Astrodome and Cynergy Field in Cincy.

Anyone who has any reservations about the ESOF, fear not. This winter, I have really given it the workout. Right now, I'm using it to pull away from stop lights and then flipping it back to 2wd as soon as I get rolling. I'm in and out of it all the time, without any problems at all. 27,500+ miles so far.

    Hi Bob,

I just wanted to let you know I didn't disregard your nice offer to send me the Ford Accessories catalog. I e-mailed you last night with my address, but got my mail back tonight as user unknown. I used this e-mail address rhannford@netscape.net. Does this look correct? Please let me know and again thanks for your generous offer. I would like to take you up on it!

gic-Thanks for the Rhino Liner info. I am holding off to see if I am going to be waiting for a 2001 truck before deciding on any one, but since I have all this time it is nice to get all the info together. Good luck finding a truck. From what you have read here they are well worth the long search.

sorry that the deal in detroit didn't work out. i thought that the sd was a 350, not a 250 - my mistake. perhaps like many things in life, when we least expect them to happen, they happen. i'll keep an eye out, and wait for mine too.

I was wondering what a good deal would really be on a new superduty.I see alot of variations in what people are paying.I ordered a 00'f250 sd,sc 5.4 at wht/slv xlt cd ttmirrors ttpkg 265's.The price i agreed on was $27,000.I unfortunately did'nt see this sight until the deal was done,so i did'nt do any research, but it was the best deal i got out of the 10 dealers i talked to.I ordered on 2/4/00 and got a delivery conformation last monday for the first week in march.Did i do okay or could i have done better being more prepared? I also asked my dealer how i was getting my truck so fast, when so many people have been waiting for months. He was'nt sure but he thought the cc configurations were the holdup.can't make em fast enough for the demand i guess. But he was,nt positive since the last couple he ordered only took 12 weeks.

mainecowgirl: I am going in to get mine line-X'ed this weekend. I'll let you know how it look's (maybe I can get some pic's of my truck up on the web).

Brutus: Next time in Seattle, do try and take in a game at Safeco Field. On a nice Seattle summer evening, with the roof open, seeing the mountains and the Sound, it's really nice. Most here in Seattle sorry to see Jr. the ballplayer go. Most here in Seattle happy to see Jr. the spoiled whiner go. Folks in Cincinatti gotta try and keep him happy now.

Had to take my truck into the parking garage at SeaTac airport yesterday. It was scary. When I pulled under the entry height bar at the ticket machine, I got out and looked to see how much clearance I had (guy behind me musta thought I was nuts). Looked to be about four inches. Driving around in the garage was spooky and a bit gut-wrenching. The antenna was "ticking" along as it hit each concrete cross-support. I was subconsiously "ducking" my head as I drove...

OK, it's time to get serious on the 'extras'. I got an ETA of March 13, being built 2.21.
    1) how do you track the railroad? From Ky to Maryland (then by truck to VA) to take 21 days!!
    2) where to get husky ? floor mats?
    3) price of Line-X? Only one dealer within 100 miles and no Rhino within 200 miles s

I duck in the underground garages in my Subaru!! Won't even try in the truck!

jepsomfam--I ordered from Ferebee Ford in Louisa VA--12/15--will be 12 weeks for 2K 250 cc 4x4 Lb manual at $700 over ; Give Jim Cavanagh a call--he gave best price/delivery time of ones I tried and the referral came from this list! Thanks everyone!!
  • crazyelviscrazyelvis Member Posts: 216
I love taking the beast into the garage at Tampa International Airport..(TIA)....Scares the hell out of anyone else in the truck. It gives about 3-4 inches of clearance.
Forgot to post cost of flowmaster system....$400.. but I am trading sign work for it....gotta love the barter system.....

Three weeks ago I received my 250SD 4x4, v10, sc, lwb, red (F1 code). It's great to be a have! The truck got dirty as soon as I left the dealer and I couldn't wash it until the following week. After I washed it and was drying it off, ( and swooning over my "beast"), I looked at the driver door and thought I had missed wiping it off. Upon further inspection, I decided that a 4" x 6" area on the door had the clear coat sanded down and found some dirt-like bumps in the clear coat near it. Took it back to the dealer and talked to the bodyshop. The shop manager was a great guy and agreed it was a problem. Felt the factory had dirt in the clear coat, tried sanding it out, then did a p.p. job of buffing it and burned through the clear coat. If I hadn't caught this, the base color would have oxidized and within a year my "beast" would have had a big ugly mark on the door I see every time I get in. I also would have had a hard time fighting with Ford, (They cover this type of paint defect for only 30 days because actual cause is hard to determine.) The door had to be repainted, (both base and clear coat).
I apologize for my long explanation, but I think its a good point for everyone just picking up there new trucks. If the factory is indeed rushing to meet demand this may be common. This defect was difficult to see and the dealer didn't catch it, or so they say. Please, check your new "beast" out carefully!

Mine was 2k 4x4 SC LB SRW 5.4 A/T 4:10LS XL with chrome decor, off road, A/C, Cruise/tilt, AM/FM/cass, trailer tow, receiver hitch, ESOF. Price was $26,250 total, including destination charge. The only extra was state tax. I basically turned an XL into the perfect XLT to meet my needs. If you've gotten most of the above options (some come on XLT, some you have to order) plus the XLT seats, Alum. wheels and chrome grille(I had to order and pay for chrome grille after truck arrived) then I'd say you did OK at $27,000. Everybody else agree??
  • jepsonfamjepsonfam Member Posts: 45
lilelmo and sherwoodfor - hey no problem. I appreciate the thoughts and continued awareness. Always fun to talk to other folks and get their perspective. I am looking for a 00/cc/lariat/v10/
auto/4x4/srw/lwb (NO roof lights!). Color ordered is red bu I'm open for almost anything except black, Island blue, or silver. I sent out a few emails to dealers in NC last night so we'll see what they come back with. My dealer mentioned he thought he might have someone to trade a 350 like I want for 2 of the new 150 super crew cabs. I'll check with him later today.

Canoes - thanks. I'll see what pans out today and maybe call your chap on Monday.

Delivery checklist - the paint problem quikdraw points out may be included on the delivery checklist that I saw on the Ford-diesel site (in FAQs?? I don't remember exactly). The list was quite extensive and has many items which wewouldn't normally think of but once you see them you realize it makes sense. When I say extensive, I mean it. Show up at opening and pack a lunch and maybe dinner too.

    Cheers.
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
An example for your truck. Guessing at some of the options you selected. It would look like invoice is something around 26,300 maybe a little more.
So if you paid $500 over invoice (a fair price) it would come to 26,800.

I think you did pretty good at $27000 for not doing any online research!!! Although going to 10 dealers definately helped you out!

Checked status of my Truck, as far as I can tell the rail car is sitting in Evansville, IN. Lets see it's the 19th of Feb. Ford said they would have it at the dealers somewhere inbetween the 6 & 13th of March. How far is it from Evansville to 3o miles north of Milwaukee, and will they take the full 16-23 days? Any bets? Going to drop by the dealer this morning to see if it comes by truck or train once it hits Naperville,IL.

Camper package deleting spare on that site must be a mistake. Havn't seen a camper package around here in real life so couldn't just stick my head down and look. Wouldn't mind putting on a sway bar later so this is good news.

Tool box on the truck is a weatherguard aluminum they're adding $600 for. They make 4 different ones but I don't know which it is yet. I've never even looked at these but that sounds like a lot of money. Didn't figure they'd give me the rebate, just thought they might be willing to take the box off if they were going to make a little more $ with their rebate. No doubt they could use it on something else.
Hitch is dealer installed class III/IV. I'm guessing you need leveling system to meet the class IV specs after looking at drawtite site. I downloaded the towing manual from the meadowland ford link on ford-diesel site. Don't know if I'm getting this right but it seems that limit without levelers is 5000#. Up to 10k# with. Doesn't say you can exceed the 5k without levelers with a class V though. Anyone know for sure?

Have never had keyless entry...yet. The yankee (read cheap) in me squawks a little but I'm sure it would come in handy. Can you leave it idling with the key in it and lock it? I want the 6spd so auto start is out but if I can run out and get it warming up at work without needing to keep track of a 2nd key it'd be sweet.

I'm a first time waiter for a new truck. I let the dealership blow smoke that they would have my truck in in less than 8 weeks ( F250 crew cab 7.3 4x2). I guess I'll be the last one they lie to but my new address will be Town Squire Ford till they deliever my truck. I have a friend who has a chevy on order and has been waiting 6 wks with no hope so far. Is this the way all Ford dealers operate?
  • fordy1fordy1 Member Posts: 30
Yes it did come from Ford, all F-SD with psd, 5.4
and 6.8 with AT. It was posted as dealer news letters dated 02-18-00. There are more orders
than can be filled. However some dealers are still taking orders in hope of some cancellations.
    With no promises of course!!!!

    Canoes,

For rail tracking try www.bnsf.com . I forget the link from there but you can track vehicle by last 8 digits of the VIN. Don't know if you use bnsf (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) where you are but it sounds like they have most of the rail business in the country at the moment.

Husky. Performance Products ( www.performanceproducts.com ) has them and I believe that Advance Auto (formerly Western Auto) also carries them.

sdman-Do let me know how you like your line-x. Someone mentioned earlier getting a site where we can post pictures. I think that's a great idea just so some of us with less than 4 F250SD's in a 50 mile radius can look at some options.

    bobh12-Check your e-mail. Thanks!

Has anyone ever seen a 250 with same color fender flares?

If the dealer "gives" you the tool box for free, I'll buy it from you! gilligan11@mail.com Thanks

Have 500 miles on my F350 4x4 sc v10 Lariat srw long bed - almost all extras. Had some serious snow here in Milwaukee and had a chance to use the 4x4 option - it was smooth - this is my first truck and I still am getting used to the height and adjusting to knowing where the front begins and the back stops.

Does anyone have an opinion on truck caps? I am interested in two - the Glasstite and the Sportsman. It seems each have feature and price differences of value.

Thanks again to all of you who have helped me make a decision that is turning out great for me.
I followed this site way back when ESOF was an issue and was glad to read the recent post by Brutus that his is working fine after alot of miles. He and people on this site led me to my purchase with incredible ease and I couldn't be a happier guy!

On dog issues, our 6 month old gray Newfie pup (about 80 pounds) fit real good in the back seat when I put the seats up - he could stick his head right in the front between the captain's chairs and keeps us company. We picked him up at O Hare on the day that I ordered my truck on the internet. He too was an internet purchase. He was our good luck charm. Those still thinking of purchasing should look into the internet purchase as a viable option - it worked for me.

Here's the deal with the toolbox/ bedliner/ trailer hitch package: FoMoCo sells large batches of trucks to a couple of upfitter outfits. In the old days, these guys bought chassis cabs and added dump bodies, etc. Now they also buy pickups and either add snowplows or the bedliner-toolbox-trailer hitch pkg., mark them up a few bucks, and sell them to the dealers. The dealers can't get enough SDs from Ford, so they have to buy this way. I'll bet the window sticker shows a delivery to an equipment co. on the North Shore or Long Island. It's still a new truck, but I think Ford is dumb to shortchange its dealers this way. If you find a truck you want, and the dealer is willing to bend a little on the extras, it's a bird in the hand. BTW, unless I missed it, you haven't posted your dream truck specs. I also live in New England, and found an F350 a couple of weeks ago by prowling the lots, so I may know of a truck here and there. Happy hunting.

tom18- Try Custom Vehicle Supply off of Burleigh & 116th st. I bought an A.R.E Cap for my 00 CC SD there, I had looked around and in my opinion for a super duty they have the best cap. They are a bit pricey, but they are warranted for as long as you own the truck. As for serious snow in Milwaukee, a foot of snow is not a serious challenge for a Super Duty, thats mere child's play, maybe with chivy, it would be serious, but with your height on your truck it should of been like driving on a clear day except for the small cars around being stuck all over the place.

Traced my Truck to Danville, Ill. Talked to the dealer, he says the it will be trucked to Port Washington from Naperville, hopefully be here by the 2nd of march or sooner, keeping fingers crossed. He also said I may be getting a 2nd DUFFLE BAG from Ford. Cause he had filled out another thing from Ford with my name on it.

Called my dealer yesterday and my truck was scheduled to be built 2/18/00. 2 months to the day I ordered it. It is to be on the dealer lot by 3/6/00. It is a 00 f250 lariat psd cc sb loaded to the nuts. Being in the Central valley of Calif, I only buy white. For price, I am paying $31,400. (this includes the $500 farm bureau rebate on pickups)
This site has been very informative. Now I have to go shopping for toys. Like the line-X liner. Leaning towards a electric tonno cover, that slides over the box. (like pace-edwards or roll n lock) Also I am looking at some power chips. They claim an increase of 50 horse powere and increase torgue by 100 ft lbs. Have seen 3 so far. KN filter has come out with filter that looks like the way to go.
Any way, did not mean to be so wordy. My kids and wife have been told that, they will no longer have a problem knowing what to get me for presents for a while. "TRUCK TOYS"
    Nite all :)

For those who are wondering if the auto. trans. is a reason for the delays, I have had a F250 SD SC LB PS 4x4 6 speed manual on order since 9/10/99. I am still a havenot, waiting for the order to be pulled by Ford. My priority code is 10 (from what I understand, a 10 is okay), but I think my dealer must have exceeded his allocation. Any info. on a good dealer in the MD, VA, PA, or DE area would be greatly appreciated.

Bass Pro Shops has a very competitive price, and in my case since I bought a complete set I got free shipping to boot. Delivered three days after my order, so there wasn't much to find wrong. Fronts/rears run $49.99, humps $39.99. I believe Cabela's has the same price. Both are much cheaper than Performance Products as I've seen quoted here.
