in my opinion - toyota has gotten real creative about pricing - they want to be the #1 car dealer (beat GM). as such, i think its been easier to get prices down for the consumer.

yes, no data, just my opinion.

what would a realistic OTD price be for the IS 250 RWD when paying in full up front (no financing or lease)? shouldn't i get a better deal paying in full or does the dealer not care whether i pay in full or finance? thanks!
  • fishybear10fishybear10 Member Posts: 12
actually it doesn't matter anymore...I paid in full and still got the same deal as someone who was financing. Actually the dealerships makes more money if you finance. A realistic price for a '07 IS250 RWD w/ NAV and Premium package would be around 36,800-37,00 OTD, shoot for that, anything more and you should walkaway. If you're in SoCAL then go to Newport Lexus, they give awesome deals.
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
    Does that include HID?

By that logic, an IS250 RWD AT without Nav should be $34-35k OTD right?
  • fishybear10fishybear10 Member Posts: 12
Yes, all '07 models have the HID lights. An IS250 RWD w/o NAV should be around 2.5K less ...so, it should be around 34K.
  • kstepanovkstepanov Member Posts: 1
I was offered this car with just a preffered package MSRP 32,600 sales price - 30,000. I have a feeling invoice should be 28-29K so i don't know if it's a good deal.
Also does anybody know what is the Money Factor for lower credit scores - mid 600s ?

I'm shopping for an 07 IS250 AT RWD or 06 IS350 in the Bay Area. I want the ML/Nav system on either. AND, most importantly, it must be the Golden Almond color. With the IS350, I would settle for the Mystic Gold.

One dealer told me that the IS250 does not come with the ML/Nav system. I would need to look at the IS350 for that. AND, I was told that it also did not come in the Golden ALmond color.

Now, the Lexus website has the ML/Nav system as an independent option. AND it has the Golden Almond color listed. So, why is this dealer telling me this? Do I need to special order?

Has anyone see these colors on lot? I haven't visited any dealers yet...just doing the internet thing so far.

    Thanks!

i see that on lexus.com all packages start with the HID lamps. but i have read elsewhere that it can be ordered seperately. is it just one of those times where it is theoretically an option but most of what they make has it?
  • derekyeuderekyeu Member Posts: 7
Dealers often say things to sell whatever cars they have in their stocks.
  • goldie7goldie7 Member Posts: 7
Well, the dealer was right...sorta. The IS250 won't be manufactured in Golden Metallic for Sept and Oct. She was referencing the Lexus Manufacturing Production Sheet. So, I guess in the immediate future there will be no Golden Almond.

Which leads me to my next question. How "painful" a process is it to special order a Lexus? I also want the ML sound system in my IS250 which they don't seem to include in their option packages. So, maybe it'll be better to order the car I want.

Has anyone special ordered the 07 IS250 AT RWD? Was it easy? Did you pay MSRP for that?

    Thanks!
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
OK Carsdirect indicates that you can order the IS250 RWD Automatic with the Luxury Plus package, which has the memory seats and rear shades along with HID.

But on Lexus.com, when you input the zip code, it shows Premium with additional options (HID, 18-inch wheels, preferred accessory package).

You can get it with or without Navigation, no other options except probably dealer-installed stuff like rear spoilers.

So the sticker with destination is either $35,222 or $37,772. This is with automatic transmission.

Anyone finding any different configurations in the Bay Area? In particular the memory seats and rear shades would be nice to find.

I tried the IS350 and it has a couple of other options like some Sport package but still no Luxury Plus package.

    hello all!

i finally purchased my 2007 IS 250 this saturday at VISTA LEXUS in
woodland hills, ca.... this site has been pretty helpful with my purchase so i want share my experience..

went to glendale they offered $2700 off sticker

went to keyes van nuys the offered $1200.. plus their selection is not good... they accessorize their cars with spoilers and rims which adds $3-4k on top of the sticker

then i finally went to VISTA... sticker $37772.00 got the car for $34500 (before tax).. got it $3272 off sticker.. happy with my deal coz they even lowered my financing rate... 6.60% apr for 72 months... at first they gave me 6.90% apr but they lowered it so i'm happy.... so total for everything with $7k down plus the extended 5 year warranty -which i might add has a money back guarantee if not exercised - is $550 monthly payment for 72 months...

i'm sure i could've got a better deal at newport but vista was closer to my house and if i have issues it would be alot easier to have the dealer nearby... so i'm happy :)

the car i got is SILVER with BLACK INTERIOR... i really wanted the SMOKY GRANITE but they only had two IS 250 in stock... but silver is not bad.. its starting to grow on me..

out of the three dealerships i went he was
the nicest one.... the rest were not nice...

    hope this helps!

I would suggest you pay-off this loan within a year.

I special ordered a IS 250 AT RWD with smokey granite, black int, Nav, and the PT package. Final price was $36300. I ordered this from the Rockville dealer in MD. They gave me an estimate of 60-90 days for delivery. It appears that it will be closer to 90 days.

Overall the process was easy, the only downside is that you end up paying a slightly higher price because they are less likely to negotiate since they don't have the car on the lot.
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
Well the Putnam fleet manager offered about $2500 off sticker for the IS250 RWD AT without NAV, or $32,500 before tax and license. Sticker was a bit over $35k including destination for Premium, 18-inch wheels and tires, HID and Preferred Accessory Package.

He wouldn't give an out the door price, even though I mentioned that there are all these fees like advertising and others that they tack on.

I said I wanted $34k OTD for the non-Nav or $36,500 OTD for the Nav, based on what deals people were reporting.

He said people make bogus claims online and offered $500 discount from his previous price to "earn my business now."

Hmm, Stevens Creek is much closer but they're not replying to emails.

Oh well, BMW has better lease deals and an ED option. Lexus IS is in a very competitive segment.
  • kangalkangal Member Posts: 5
Steven Creek offered this to me.
07 IS 250 RWD AT with spoiler for $31,900 plus Tax and License.

Contact their Internet Sales Manager to get a quote.
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
Does that include HID, 18-inch wheels and Preferred Accessory package?

Hmm, actually that's about what Putnam was offering with the $500 discount.

If they only put tax and license on that, it's probably okay.

But I suspect they might pile on some bogus fees like advertising, inflated doc fees, training fees, etc.

Did they give you an out the door price?
  • kangalkangal Member Posts: 5
That includes HID, 18-inch wheels, Premium Plus Package and
spoiler. I have not bought the car yet, but I contact the guy multiple times to confirm the price.

    It's $31,900 + Tax and License.

I contacted Magnussen's Lexus of Fremont and was quoted
    $32,600 for the same car.
  • istundraistundra Member Posts: 23
I bought my IS250 w/ nav and premium pack plus for $34,000 plus fees from Stevens Creek.

Concord Lexus, the internet sales manager, said he can do better then 34K plus fees.
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
If they don't slip in any other fees or jack up the doc fee or something like that, that should be like right at $35k total.

But these days, when they won't give you the OTD price, you get suspicious.
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
Do you mind posting what your OTD price was, the bottom line after paying taxes and registration and whatever other fees the dealer may have thrown in?
  • tazdevltazdevl Member Posts: 3
Has anyone picked up a IS350 Sport with Parking Assist or seen one?
  • dmanrashdmanrash Member Posts: 1
A salesman gave me a price of $460/mo, $2700 down, 32month lease for a 07 IS250 AWD in NY. Is this about right for this car? He said that everything was included except the Nav system.

    Thanks.
  • iamfaymousiamfaymous Member Posts: 12
    Bigstean,

Was your car 36,300 OTD or is that before tax, title etc? That is the exact car I am looking for.
  • ronnietoysronnietoys Member Posts: 7
You need real figures to see if it is a "good deal" What is selling price and what is the money factor? Then go to edmunds and look up how to calculate the lease and you see if is a good deal. If it includes "everthing except Nav" that means you will get Mark Levinson radio. If it is not in the car, well, you will then know if the salesman is to be trusted. FYI: ML is available w/o Nav as an option. I have ML w/o Nav. It is an '07 IS250AWD. I live in CT.
  • zarfactorzarfactor Member Posts: 1
Just negotiated a deal for an 07 IS250 for 38,600 OTD with navigation and satellite radio. It has the deluxe package etc. I'm getting it somewhere in southern California. Saw on an earlier posting an OTD of 37,500 OTD. Do I have a good deal now or can I negotiate for the lower price.
  • diamondblackdiamondblack Member Posts: 4
I'm getting A 07 IS250 AWD, With Nav, SPoiler, All weather mats and HID's. For 36000 without tax. So if you're getting it for 38600 OTD with Tax and all it's GOOD
  • gowest1gowest1 Member Posts: 8
I just negotiated a 2007 IS 250 AT RWD with the Premium Plus Package, Preferred Accessory Package, rear spoiler, and G-spider wheels (yeah!!) for an OTD price of $35,500. I'm in the Southeast. What do you all think of this pricing?
  • tenhangertenhanger Member Posts: 7
Yes, my thoughts are you should start talking about the sticker price rather than the monthly price. Seperate your car deal, from your loan deal, and you can then BEGIN to negotiate with dealers. Otherwise, they will rape you one way or another.
  • bigsteanbigstean Member Posts: 3
The $36,300 is OTD. As for special orders, that was by far the best deal I found. I called up and down the east coast and no other dealer could beat that. Just so you know, I placed this order at the end of July, so you might be able to get something a little better now.
  • tenhangertenhanger Member Posts: 7
    I bought a 2006 IS 350 ( IS350 ) with LT Luxury Package and NV Navigation System Package for $40,125.00 (pre-tax).

FYI: Edmunds listed the following for my options...
    MSRP = $42,795
    Invoice = $37,316
    TMV = $41,753

I got quoted at 3 dealers for $42,500, $41,000, and $40,000 at the color I wanted, and obviously went with the lowest.

The car is excellent, the luxury package and Nav system a MUST (in my opinion), and I feel like I got a very fair deal. I bought mid-month in August.
  • tenhangertenhanger Member Posts: 7
I paid $40,150 with Luxury (instead of Sport) and no Levinson, so it seems like you have a good deal.
I am in NJ area tho.
  • tenhangertenhanger Member Posts: 7
Try to knock it down another $1,000.

Lexus probably was not accepting orders bc their plants are gearing up to make the 2007 models-- so the dealer was likely giving you a fair shake (information).

If you haven't bought yet, investigate the 2007 model year.
  • tenhangertenhanger Member Posts: 7
I think 1700 miles is enough to ask for lower price than you got quoted. Go with the Edmunds price, or upto $1,000 below (like $38k).

Was yours an 07 with Bixenon adaptive headlights? I just got a 37,700 OTD offer and it is going to be on the lot this week. Nav, bixenons, prem pack, spoiler, accesory package. Did you see the invoice on your car? I got a MSRP of 38,120 and 35,000 befor tax title etc.
  • bigsteanbigstean Member Posts: 3
    iamfaymous,
Mine did not have the Bixenon lights because when I ordered it they were not offering them separately. The invoice on my car was $31,209. This was for Nav, and the PT package(wood trim, & ventilated seats). OTD $36,300. Basically the dealer had a $2,400 mark up on my car over invoice. Hope that helps. What dealership are you buying from anyway?

    Help!

I am in the market for the IS 250. I was intending to get one this past summer, but the dealer in Plano, TX told me that the wait would be over 2 months. Now that the new '07 have arrived, I'm wondering if I should get the new '07 or an '06. If I decide on the '06 what kind of deal can I get on this since back then they wanted to give me $2500 off already? This is my first time buying a new car and would greatly appreciate the input. Thanks!
  • istundraistundra Member Posts: 23
i got 3500 off MSRP and that was back in late august for my 2007 IS250 Premium Plus & Nav
  • guestguest Member Posts: 770
If it's an 06, i'd go for invoice, or at least $4000 off msrp. For an 07 at least $2500 off msrp. No matter what they tell you, you are in the driver's seat! If they don't give you the price you want, walk away and see if they chase after you. If (and when) they do, you know they would have taken your last offer before you walked away. They will tell you we are close and try get more money from you. Don't give them any more! Good Luck.
  • gowest1gowest1 Member Posts: 8
I agree with the above two posts. I got about $2800 off MSRP for an '07 IS250 (purchased in Sept. '06), so you definitely should be able to do better.
  • gator04gator04 Member Posts: 3
    Thanks All for your input!

I have emailed the dealer in Plano and also in Mobile, Al. I can buy the car in either Texas or Florida, with Mobile as an option, but Mobile replied back with the following baloney...

This car's MSRP is $39,794.00. We do not discount this car at this time. With this color choice it would be a special order that would take 90-120
    days.

Does anyone know where in FL or TX I should search to get a good deal on a Starfire Pearl '06 or '07 IS250 with Navigation system, black with metal interior?

I have not had good experiences at the Plano location. As for the grapevine one, they are not offering much discount 500-800 and not much choice in options. I am waiting on the Sewall one to return my emails to see what they are willing to come up with.

I am about to buy a new IS (still not sure if i want the 350 or the 250)...any suggestions on how to get the best price? I live in the Tampa Bay area.
  • diamondblackdiamondblack Member Posts: 4
I'm not in the Tampa Area, I have just Gotten A 2007 is250 AWD. MY parents are so called friends with the sales manager.
MY car is MSRP of 39541. It comes with Spoiler , HID, ALL weather mats, NAvi, Wood Trim. I just got a QUote for 36,000. I went to a couple of other dealers and all just laugh when i told them the price i can get it for. So i'm not sure if that helps.

I want to buy a 2007 IS 250 RWD AT with nav.

I know the current OTD I can expect now is around 36K in the LA county area.

my question is, can I expect any more discounts in december ?

if yes, by how much ?
  • cincycarmancincycarman Member Posts: 5
I was quoted today $1500 above invoice. 07 IS350. I am wondering if this is good enough considering it is going into the winter and car sales will be slowing down.
