Are you kidding me??? How did you do that? I'm looking at a no downpayment lease as well, but on the IS250 a-w-d. Accoding to my local MD dealer, I can lease a fully loaded model w/ a sticker of approx. $38k, for 36 months with zero down, and up to 15k miles a year for $639. What gives? Help me out here? I think that is absurd.
  • eiji14,

What lease (money) factor did they offer you?

    Thanks

Could you tell us what dealership in NJ that you did so well with?
    thanks

eiji14, that's a great deal for an IS350. Does that monthly payment amount of $596 include the sales tax? It sounds like you paid the taxes up front unless the money factor was lower than the 0.00255 that I've been hearing about. Previous lessees get a 10 point discount so it's 0.00245 for them.

I leased my first GS300 from Rally Lexus in 1999 and after I became more knowledgable about leases, I didn't think they gave me such a good deal. But I've been reading that they seem to be more willing to give deals lately. Maybe that's because they were losing sales to the larger Lexus dealerships on Long Island.

I went throught the internet department at Tri-County Lexus. I most of the work over the phone and bought the car at almost $4400 off sticker plus they even gave me $500 over trade for my old car. Good luck and let me know if you need any other info.

I was wondering what some of your experiences have been like waiting on the IS 250? I ordered one on 12/15 and was told it would take 4 weeks. Does this seem accurate and even possible based on the current demand?

    :D

Car in question is the IS 250 AWD. Based on my good credit and MSRP of $34,875 on the car, they offered a 36 month lease, at 12k miles a year, $2500 down and $499 a month. I said I would think about it and gave them the 2500 down at no risk and they said they would hold it for only 24 hours since it's selling so well. I think it is overpriced, especially compared to some other deals posted on here; also it's their first offer. I tell them so and the dealer goes and talks to his sales manager for like 5-10 minutes, come back and says they can't budge. I ask for 475, we negotiate, he goes back again, same thing. This happens a third time, and finally the sales manager comes in and says they really can't budge on the 499. I say boo and leave. They say they'll keep it reserved until the morning if I change my mind.

I don't believe them, I think they can budge. Since I don't think it's a coincidence that 499 is exactly 1 dollar less than 500. I think they're trying to give me a hard sell and using their [non-permissible content removed] dealer tactics. After all, what the heck else are they talking about in the other room for all that time?

Went to Lexus dealership in Fremont, CA. Salesman tried to sell me what they call a "new" IS but was sold to someone who returned it to trade it in for an RX (supposedly they had kids, found out backseat was ULTRA small).

They put 1300 miles on the car. What do you guys think? What are some potential concerns? Dealer said that warranty is still in effect. Thanks for the help!

What was the original MSRP ? Dealer probably charged them 6k for their trouble. Also is it "certified" now too ?

  • trulyd123trulyd123 Member Posts: 10
Original MSRP was $33954. When I asked him whether the car was now considered "certified preowned" he said "no", b/c technically they still consider it a new car. I though that strange myself. :-(

i put $500 down on the next Tungsten Pearl, but the invoice shows a "dealer inventory tax", 76.58 (.2 %).

If anyone is getting the same BS from dealers that I was not taking money off the MSRP on a IS 250 or 350 contact Wilde Lexus of Sarasota Florida. I submitted a request last night and had a response this morning offering $2500 off the MSRP. The sales person was the nicest guy I have dealt with out of nearly 20 Lexus dealers. I will never purchase a vehicle from the Lexus dealer in Indianapolis, IN and would not encourage other to either. The sales manager was extremely arrogant and told me there in no one discounting this vehicle because it is sold out nation wide. I hope his great customer service gets him in the end. Wilde Lexus is the way to go.... ;)

Post 345. Where in California? I'm looking right now in San Diego and the best I've seen for similar options, color, etc. is $36,500. Thanks.

hamlyn -- i qualified for a money factor of .00245. i posted the details of my lease in the is350 lease forum if u're interested in taking a look.

I am awaiting delivery of my IS250 awd with nav from Lexus of Annapolis in Annapolis MD. I was told it would be here a few weeks ago, but then it was delayed due to a "Lexus Quality Control Check" which my car had been selected for (which they said was typical for new car models). They said the cars that were chosen were taken to NY and were tested to ensure they matched the specs coming from the factory. I could expect my car to have 15-20 miles on it when I received it. I could expect the delay to be 10-14 days. So bizarre... (still hasn't come in) although I received an email saying a Lexus bulletin had been sent to the dealer ensuring the cars would be "released" to the dealership soon.

Seems like we are all getting mixed stories/lies. Could it be they all had a recall on some part?
  • billsfan80billsfan80 Member Posts: 3
I am awaiting an IS250 awd with nav from Lexus of Annapolis. I got about $1200 off MSRP, probably from the same internet sales manager. I live right down the street so it's very convenient.I got all that was left available on the boat (tungsten pearl exterior/gray interior). At first I wasn't crazy about grey on grey, but the dash is black and it looks nice. However, the car was supposed to be available Friday Dec 15th. I am still waiting. I was told the car was selected at port for a Lexus "quality control check" and would be delayed 10-14 days while it is taken to NY and tested. I should expect 15-20 miles to be put on the car when I receive it. This all sounds fishy. I'm still waiting and it's the 31st...

The IS350 has only 2 front parking assist sensors and 3 in the rear. When parking the front of the car, being the longest point of the car, may hit car parked in front of you whe parellel parking. I think this is a fault in their design.
  • kunsaiskunsais Member Posts: 2
Side mirrors may have difficulty retracting or being adjusted. Lexus may have put out a bulletin on this problem
  • Ouch...
I would share the blame with the faulty driver if one cannot see what is in front of one before I fully blame technology...
  • mycolouristmycolourist Member Posts: 2
What have you been told regarding delivery date and any information about a possible recall for the IS250 and 350. If you have already received yours, any problems with it?
  • mycolouristmycolourist Member Posts: 2
I was told by my dealer that my Tungsten/black interior luxury package with nav is being held up by a recall on accelerator issues and that my wait may be up to 3 months. Anyone else hear the same
  • eneene Member Posts: 1
I "ordered" my IS250 on 12/15 or so and it just arrived on 12/30. I think it depends on when the dealers are actually receiving their shipments from Lexus. I was originally told that the car would arrive between 12/22 and 12/29.

I will pick the car up tomorrow, given that today is a "national" holiday. The dealership in N.O. has 6 in this shipment and ALL are pre-sold.

i know this is probably not the right place to post this, but i am looking to buy either an infiniti 35x for $800 over invoice or the is 350 for $2000 off MSRP. I live in Boston, so winters are somewhat of a concern (which was the reason for considering the M35) but I LOVE the Lexus. Also note... I am 21 years old. Can anyone give me their 2 Cs? I am looking to make my decision within the week.

i also know the two cars arent really comparible.. both being it different classes... but they are the two cars that have won my auto-heart. hehe.. :P

Your dealer is the only one who seems to be telling the truth. I had a salesperson at the dealer in Rockville MD tell me they stopped delivery of the cars for an enhancement. Then after someone in one of these threads mentioned recall I did a search online and sure enough there is a recall on the IS250. Check out www.nhtsa.dot.gov and follow the a link for recalls. The recall was issued 12/16/05 the problem is the accelerator pedal becoming stuck in pad in carpet. Apparently about 3600 cars are effected. 3 mos though is a long time. This past weekend I requested price quotes at 6 dealership and they all want sticker. I wonder if this recall, the resulting backlog of undelivered vehicles is keep inventories low.
  • billsfan80billsfan80 Member Posts: 3
I received A car finally, after it was delayed at port to fix the accelerator pedal issue. It was delayed two weeks in all. Only thing is, the car I ordered was sold to someone else!!! (250 Tungsten Pearl with gray interior and nav). My name was placed on the wrong car (my dealer was planning on getting it from the dealer actually receiving the car off the boat). That dealer sold my car though. It seems like it was all an accident though because they reserved a different car (everything the same, but with a black interior). I liked this better than the gray on gray so I was happy that it all worked out. If I hadn't been though, both dealers would have been in a lot of trouble for that mixup. heh. I got my IS250 from Lexus of Annapolis. The Internet Sales Manager took care of me. She did a great job. $1200 off MSRP and I drove a loaner (put 4k miles on it) for the month I was waiting.
  • karlottaqkarlottaq Member Posts: 1
I was able to purchase an IS350 through internet sales at Sewell in Dallas. I received 1,000 off of MSRP and financed purchase at 5.29%. White/Black had 11 miles drove it home on 12/31.
  • is350lais350la Member Posts: 3
Has anyone "ordered" a car, only have it delivered with unordered spoiler? What do they look like? Not having seen it yet, I don't want a spoiler, and I definately don't want to pay $355 for it, but it's already taken dealer a LONG time to get the car.
  • is350lais350la Member Posts: 3
My IS350 in "Spoiler" thread, was purchased in SoCal for 1500 under MSRP. I told them that's what I'd pay and did it on the last day of a month. Incidentally, I've since asked some of the people who quoted me prices after I filled out the edmunds.com price thing and most have said they couldn't match that, although a couple (I can't remember which) said they would.
  • jmirollijmirolli Member Posts: 6
What was your total wait time for your car? I ordered mine on 12/15 and still nothing. Worse of all I qualified for the 4.79% December to remember rate which ended today. The finance manager told me he needed a vin number to run the paperwork and lock me into the rate. I called several dealers and it turns out he is telling the truth. I suggested to the sales person that they get on the phone with Lexus Finance and get my 4.79%. Between the recall and this rate mess it seems like I cannot win with this car. Is it possible because I ordered the Glacier frost with Nav it is taking longer or is it this recall? My understanding is that they are only producing 3% of their vehicles this color? If you order a car you would think it wouldn't matter what the color is and that the dealer with that color sold would get allocated the car. But then again with all the dealers not having cars I'm sure no one wants to give one up either.

I live in the Boston area too, and from what I've seen, never
go with RWD, it's not worth it. I've seen bimmers and mercedes
stuck trying to climb uphill on snow covered roads. They were
RWD, I was driving a corolla, I managed to make it over. I'm
actually looking into the IS 250 AWD, I'd rather risk power
and get better traction. It was kinda sad seeing nice cars
struggling to get traction in the snow. So I'd go with either
    the 35x or 250 AWD. Insurance might be $$$ since you're 21,
but thats a different topic altogether.
  • brady4brady4 Member Posts: 6
The car looks really good with the spoiler. I saw two cars in person one with and one without, and I preferred the one with spoiler. It's a small spoiler so not overkill but a "conservative sporty" look. If you don't want it, try negotiating the price without it.
  • brady4brady4 Member Posts: 6
There are 3 dealers in Florida who have discounted $2500 off MSRP on the IS 350 without navigation: Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, Lexus of Orlando, and Lexus of Palm Beach.

    Hi All,

    Great resource this board is.

Just bought a 2006 Lexus IS 250 AWD with Luxury Package, Navigation System, and Heahlamp Washers (MSRP 39,730) for $37,000 from Lexus of Westport, CT.

    Anyone do any better?

    Thanks,
    Rick
  • simonsayssimonsays Member Posts: 29
Thats not too bad, if you calculated everything by their invoice price it comes out to $34,770. They still made a chunk of change out of the deal.
  • stevencatystevencaty Member Posts: 11
    Hi all
Basicly any one out there think how much the IS250 AWD with and without NAV, cause I'm ready to buy one this weekend, the dealer give me $34800 no NAV and $37500 with NAV.
    Thank
  • simonsayssimonsays Member Posts: 29
Based on the invoice $30,758 (with delivery) with NAV, it comes to $32,926. That is assuming there are no other options added. It's even lower if I used Consumer Reports bottom line price. You can start with this price and add 4-8 percent for profit. I don't know if dealers are willing to budge, but it's worth trying.
  • moresolmoresol Member Posts: 3
Did you already pick up the car, or was it just an order. If it's an order, when are expecting to take delivery?

I have a deposit in Mass. for the exact same car and I'm hoping it'll be here by the end of the month.

My deal is only for $2000 off, so you've got me beat by an extra $730. Sounds like a great deal to me!
  • aps3aps3 Member Posts: 1
If you order from Florida, where does the vehicle get delivered. My nearest Acura dealer is 50 miles away. And Florida is another state. Where do you go for initial warranty service? Tx
  • h1jh1j Member Posts: 4
What dealer in MA did you order from? I have gotten nothing but sticker price.

    Thanks
  • moresolmoresol Member Posts: 3
Balise in Springfield is very willing to deal. Just contact their Internet sales people and see what they can do for you.
  • hoticeteahoticetea Member Posts: 8
Got a quote for a IS250/rwd/nav/premium package from a lexus local dealer in NYC yesterday: $35,090 ($500 off MSRP). But I think I will go with Acura TL/nav(258hp) even though the model is 2 years old, which only cost $32,500.
  • suave_tequilasuave_tequila Member Posts: 116
Why not get an 06' TL? Same price around $35K!
  • is350lais350la Member Posts: 3
yeah, I know it's smaller than a normal spoiler, but still don't like it... anyway, the weird thing about negotiating is that Santa Monica Lexus said that Lexus isn't making anymore 350's w/Nav without a spoiler. I guess it's possible, but sounds fishy...
  • fudfud Member Posts: 5
I was wondering how you are getting Luxury package on a 250!? Do you mean Premium package? I went to 3 dealerships and all told me luxury or sports package only comes with 350s. 250 is all stock...=( But then again, I am in CA.
  • digital_bdigital_b Member Posts: 129
thats good to know since I live in springfield. but I wonder if it was just an end of month deal.
  • hoticeteahoticetea Member Posts: 8
Sorry, my English is not very good. I meant the 06'TL is selling below 33k right now, but it is not a brand new model. I won't pay 35k for a IS250 with 206 horse power only. And I am going to buy the TL next month.
  • dmk720dmk720 Member Posts: 10
I live in Chicopee and did not talk with them about the price.Only test drove etc.But I went to Hartford and asked for AWD with parking assist. They said 33800 I said 33000.Now I`m waiting for them to call me.Also the manager told me that the best deals are from one dealer in N.Jersey,Florida and Boston because they sell 500 cars a month.By the way witch Lexus dealer in Boston is the biggest
  • hull22hull22 Member Posts: 43
Dealers around here in Boston say that they can't special order one for me. I know I should have AWD rather than RWD in the snow but but I'm moving to a warmer climate soon. How far south do I have to look to find one? I know Wilde Lexus in Sarasota can order one for me, but I'd rather not pay $1000 in shipping costs.
  • montana10montana10 Member Posts: 1
