I am still shopping for it. Hopefully IS350 with LT will have better availability soon so they will not raise the price so high. If you get it around $45k let me know. Thanks.
  • ccjw511ccjw511 Member Posts: 23
Is $41589 out the door price or before tax and fees? Because ML is only $800 or 900.

Hey, anyone negotiating for an IS 250 in the LA area? I want to buy an auto w/premium pkg and 18' wheels. (no nav)...what can I expect to get below MSRP. Invoice is 30K, MSRP is 34K. Thanks!
  • digital_bdigital_b Member Posts: 129
before taxes and fees. about 1k of those. I really want to dump my LS and I got a good deal on it. they said the deal would change if I special ordered. its hard to get ml in this region.
  • ccjw511ccjw511 Member Posts: 23
So far I only get $1600 off from the MSRP $44,235. That's pretty much what they offer you. When are you going to pick up yours? and have you place the back order with Lexus dealer? I also have a trade in on MB E320 sedan do you know how much daler would offer to take it? I went to MB dealer today and they offered $24k and I was like no way because that's way below what people are selling online and ebay. Do you know how much I will be able to sell on my E320?

Interested in an out the door price for a base IS 250 AWD. I've visited one Lexus dealer so far and they would only offer the car at MSRP, because they claim the cars are in short supply. Anyone do better than MSRP on the base IS 250 AWD? If so please provide dealer name, MSRP and price paid. Thanks. Also, what is the expected wait, I'm hearing 4-6 weeks on average.
  • rbramrbram Member Posts: 4
Go to kbb.com to get a realistic trade in price. Of course it will be less than what you see people trying to sell their's at retail. Perhaps you should do the same.
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Right now, all of the dealers are claiming that the car is going for MSRP. Some people are getting deals, but until there are cars sitting on the lot, the dealers have the upper hand (it's all about supply/demand).

By waiting a few months, you probably have little to lose and a LOT to gain. Prices will be lower, 2007 models will eventually be arriving (lowering the prices on the '06s). Most importantly, Toyota has a second/overflow plant for the new IS (Kyushu) in addition to the current Tahara plant (where I believe the GS/LS are also manufactured). I'm not sure if Kyushu is making ISes yet, but when it does start, you can expect supply to at least meet (if not exceed) demand.

I also suspect that Lexus dealers are far more interested in selling out their inventory of RX330s, and ES330s than the new IS. The ES is going to be completely redesigned, while the RX will be getting a 3.5L engine for '07, and will probably become the RX350. Why make a deal on the IS (which is a hot car, and will be easy to sell above invoice for the forseable future), when you have 2 models that you need to clear out, and will be much more difficult to move once the updated versions arrive.

I've been searching for a base IS 250 AWD in PA, and have gotten quotes between $1,000 and $2,000 off MSRP. Unfortunately, my local Pittsburgh dealers are at the low end of this range. If I could've gotten $1,300 off from my local dealer(s) I would have jumped on it because I'd also save $500 dollers in PA tax with a courtesy trade-in. I've also been quoted anywhere from 1 to 3 months for delivery of the black/cashmere combo that I want.
Hope this info helps those of you looking! I've gotten a lot from this site in my search. I think I'll be driving a few hours to get the $2,000 off... any opinions or advice?
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Take the lowest quote that you have, and give your local dealer a chance to beat it. If they won't come reasonably close, then take the drive out and get it for $2000 off. If you have a trade, make sure that both dealers are giving you the same amount, and that other finer points of the deal are the same so you can do a fair comparison.
  • stefsstefs Member Posts: 5
    Thanks intence for the response.

My local dealers won't beat my price of $2,000 off, they won't budge from $1,000 even after I told them of my better offer. They are trying to sell me on the service they will offer after the sale, ie loaner vehicles, free oil change that I can't get from a dealer several hours away.

I'm selling my car to a 3rd party, and hoped to do that at the dealer's place to save on sales tax with a courtesy trade. I found it impossible to get even close to fair value with a dealer trade-in.

I am with you. The current demand for IS is just too hot.
I am waiting until ES350 come out "AND" the updated 07 G35 out late fall(I think). This will make IS's pricing soft a bit but I am not sure by how much. I really like the car but just don't want to pay full MSRP. :D

Has anyone had any luck getting a decent price around Dallas? I'm looking for a 250, auto, RWD, luxury package. It's easier finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I think!
  • dmk720dmk720 Member Posts: 10
My local Lexus stands on 33500$ for base AWD.I`m going to ask for 33500 plus spoiler if they dont move.
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Nope, Dallas seems to have some of the lousiest deals around. Keep in mind there are only two dealerships, Sewell and Park Place, so it doesn't take much to keep the prices at MSRP.

In fact Texas in general seems to have crummy deals. I'd suggest waiting it out, there's no point in taking $500 off now, or a free spoiler/tint/service of whatever other little incentives the dealers are throwing. It won't be long until they have more cars, and then the pricing situation should change. Look at the 3-series and the GS, both sold at a premium when released, but discounts are now common.
  • bewitzbewitz Member Posts: 10
Not a penny off MSRP in Dallas, not anywhere in the region.

I went out of state, $2700 off $44,929 loaded IS350. Exactly what I wanted, ready and waiting.

Not bad for a $139 airline ticket . . . I can live without the free car washes.

This would have been my 4th Lexus in 3 years from a single Dallas dealership. I may get all my future autos this way unless Dallas gets more competitive.
  • sosksosk Member Posts: 42
BEWITZ, would you mind telling me where you went for your 350?? I know you can't tell me a salesperson's name, but I'd really appreciate the name & city of the dealership. Which Dallas dealership did you normally deal with, and is that where you plan on going for service?

I'm so tired of hearing negative stuff from the Dallas metroplex dealers..... "you can't have it that way" "it doesn't come that way" "it's never gonna come that way" "take it like this or forget it". I was really getting depressed today after hearing "no" so many times! I emailed a dealership in Oklahoma City and while their prices weren't that great, at least the guy had a "can do" attitude!

By the way, how long have you had your 350, and do you love it????????

    Thanks, Frustrated in Dallas

Below is a quote I received from salesman at Lexus of Pembroke Pines in South Florida for a base IS250 w/spoiler........

Here is the information that you requested. This is all based on a credit rating of 690.

    MSRP $33,019
    Selling price is $31,019
    Residule .61%
    MF .00265
Total Inception money required at signing $1,411.14
    Term is 36 Months with 12 miles/year
    Monthly Payments $459.00 + 6% sales tax

This was my first quote. What do you think???
  • stefsstefs Member Posts: 5
    Hi dmk720,

What you are looking for is almost exactly the quote I have, $33,618 for base AWD + preferred accessory package + spoiler. They also promised delivery by mid-March for the color combo I wanted (black/cashmere), so I think I'm pretty happy with this. There's always someone with a better deal out there, but I don't want to spend any more of my time looking for another few bucks off. At least that is what I'm trying to convince myself!

    Good luck!

    Bewitz,

I'd like to know more about where you got that deal as well. Thanks.
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Please Bewitz, spill the beans :)

I'd also suggest that some people try the dealership in Austin. They had a MUCH better attitude than the Dallas dealers. Incidentally, even if you didn't buy your car from the dealership, they'll still wash it for free when you get it serviced there (like oil changes or whatever).

Can you name and give the location of the dealer willing to give $2000 off. I want to see if it is worth the trip.
  • digital_bdigital_b Member Posts: 129
my dealer gave more than 2000 off msrp and threw in at my request FREE xm upgrade. wilde in florida is giving 2500 off. theres your deals. this twisted logic about waiting for the new model year is stupid. no way youre not going to be back at square 1 again. the new es is ugly but will sell at msrp. so will the CONFIRMED rx 350 which is also getting the new 5th gen nav. dont waste your time waiting for new launches. you will be back here 1 year removed whining if you do.
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Digital_b, which dealer did you purchase from? Nobody's expecting deals on the ES or RX, it's just that right now the IS is the darling of the Lexus dealerships, there are deals to be had, but it's probably more difficult to get a deal on the IS than any other Lexus right now. The ISes are almost selling themselves while dealers need to get rid of ES/RX inventory.

Fast forward a few months to April/May, the new "hottest sellers" will be the all-new ES and updated RX, potentially making it easier to score a deal on an IS. Maybe flawed logic, but I don't think prices will go any higher on the IS than they are right now (not talking about MSRP, but rather dealer discounts). Some areas have great deals, while others just don't. Texas seems to be one of the areas with less competition.
  • from_flfrom_fl Member Posts: 113
digital_b: I agree your reason. However, many of us has fund allocated for many usages. For me, I want to have "every" thing offered in life. But, I am not a BANK. I can't print money. I am re-allocating my fund to prepare for IS 250. Yes, it will come to me. If money is no object, I really want a Ferrari F430. Thanks :P

Tested all three dealers, no one is willing to discount off MSRP. I did the walk out of the dealership bit, I contacted the internet guys, etc. None of them have any cars on the lot and they are simply taking orders, with the cars to be received in around one month for a typically equipped model: NAV and/or ML. If you want one of the packages or park assist they have to special order and I'm told 90-120 days for that. I also contacted a well respected auto broker who gets discounted cars for many executives here in town, even he couldn't get a discount on one. WHAT THEY WILL DO: One has agreed to give me all dealer add ons at cost: for example, wheels, tint, XM.

Oh, and Bewitz, I did check the guys on the SW Freeway. You, my friend, are a much better negotiator than I!!

Anyone do better or have other thoughts?
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
Keep in mind that there are fewer IS350s made than 250s, I believe 80% of more of the ISes currently manufactured are 250s.

I believe that Bewitz mentioned he went out of state for his purchase, but hasn't yet told us which dealership or state he purchased from.

Paid $500 off msrp for a real nice silver with black interior. Dealer bumped up my trade-in value before reducing price more. Probably could have saved another $350 if I fought hard. There was a 2 week wait in NY. Sporty car with great dashboard and rims but another 40-50 hp would be awesome (and probably get me a few speeding tickets). AWD handled perfectly in the snow storm last week and quite happy it cost 15% less than a 3-series and tired of looking at all the Audi's around here.
  • dmk720dmk720 Member Posts: 10
Paid 33400 for base silver/black from West Springfield.Pick up next week. They will get it from another dealer(extra 200miles on ODO).I`m going to put on 18`s from tirerack OZ Palladio.Look for pictures soon on cardomain.com, good source for ideas from other IS owners.

So this local dealer kept emailing me after I had made an initial iniquiry months back. I told him I'd just wait until there was more discounting and when the Luxury package with xenons were available.

So he said what kind of pricing would make me buy now.

So I told him that I'd go for the IS250 RWD, Auto, Luxury Package, Preferred Accessory Package. Came to about $35,500-36,000 MSRP including destination.

Told him I'd pay $33,500 out the door (tax and license included).

He said good luck, he can't do that deal. :D

    IS 250 6-Speed Sequential(RWD)
    Premium Package

    From CarPoint.com,
    MSRP: $33,040

    From Wilde Florida,
    MSRP: $33,954
    Selling Price: $31,980
    Documentary Fee: $489.5
    Shipping Fee: $800
    Total: $33,270

    From Tri-State NJ,
    MSRP: $35,300
    Selling Price: $34,600

Did not negociate with them yet. Any idea how come different dealers have different MSRP? Isn't that should be the same? Is the MSRP from CarPont.com correnc? Could not find the MSRP on edmunds.com site, any idea?

    Thanks
  • lbailylbaily Member Posts: 25
The cars must have different options on them. To calculate the MSRP, go the edmunds.com site and click on SEDANS, COMPACTS, and then scroll down to Lexus IS 250. Then click on TMV PRICE.

I just followed your instruction, and edmunds.com showed MSRP $33,040 as well. I think you are right, the cars should have different options. Will call the dealers to confirm this. Thanks! :)

the same guy below who said 'west springfield' is referring to the dealer I went to, balise lexus of west springfield massachusetts. someone here much earlier posted that they were dealing and I used that quote with the internet sales guy in person. he made a sick face and said it was true. so in addition to wilde lexus, balise lexus is dealing. I can give you the salesman I used if you accept private messages. I told the guy I was going to post my deal and steer business their way. I have nothing to gain from this and I was very surprised they did deal. I just wish they could locate the color combination I want!
  • hoticeteahoticetea Member Posts: 8
Talked to the sale guy who is working at Tri-State NJ on the phone, he said they never sell any 2-wheel drive lexus car. So the price he gave me is for AWD. Interesting! :confuse:

    dmk,
I'm looking to purchase an is 250 AWD base as well and am looking at Balise, Latham NY Lexus, and a dealer in Amherst, NY. Was the 33400 out the door or pre-tax, title, reg? Did you finance and if so was it through them? My apologies in advance if any of these questions are too personal or against forum rules. Please email me direct if you are comfortable with this. Thanks for your help! New to this, but truly appreciate how informational these forums are.

At that price it must have been base.

As mentioned previously, sounds like people are getting deals on 250s but not 350s.
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
For now there are more deals on the 250s, but there are also deals to be had on the 350s. You just have to be persistant. Since it's all a game of supply/demand, it might be a little more difficult to score a deal on a 350 just because there are fewer of them out there. On the other hand, there may be fewer people shopping for the 350.
  • digital_bdigital_b Member Posts: 129
and they have been posted here several times. also you can go to some of the more popular lexus forums and get details. they are not here.
  • stefsstefs Member Posts: 5
Sorry for the delay in response. I was waiting on some paperwork to make sure that the deal I mentioned earlier was valid.

Anyway, the dealer is in Lewistown, PA if that helps you determine if the trip is worthwhile. Car has spoiler, all-weather mats, cargo net, trunk mat & wheel locks as accessories. OTD price is $35,513. My wait time is anticipated to be 1 month, which is no problem to get the colors I wanted.

Dealer has been very upfront & easy to deal with. We've mostly cooresponded via email which is easy for me. The only drawback for me is not being able to get the sales tax advantage of a courtesy trade of my old car. It's too far for me to ask the buyer of my old car to drive. Still, the deal is better than I was getting from my local dealers and the wait time is shorter.

    Happy shopping.

Hey, so that money factor, was it tier 1+ or 1? Or was it something less? I am looking to lease is250 with navi, and got a good offer from dealer. Just wanted to know what the going rate for Money factor and residual will be. He said residual for IS250 is 59-60% Is this true? Any info would be nice!
  • oddielexusoddielexus Member Posts: 2
This was for a base model. Residual should be 61% with 12k was my understanding. I believe it was tier 1+ or whatever the best is because I have a very high credit score. I could be mistaken though and maybe could have got lower, but at the selling price I was okay with it. Lexus of Mission Viejo was awesome though so they deserve to make some money.

    Hey everyone,
Just wanted to run this past everyone who has purchased or priced an IS250 rwd auto in recent weeks. I just got a price for the following with the premium package only in smoky mica with the black leather listing for $33,200 and final selling price of $31,200 without taxes & title($2000 off sticker). I live in WI and called around and this was the best price I could get after quite a bit of dealing. Just wondering what you think? Overall, I test drove the 2006 325i and IS250 and went with the lexus. I am coming from driving a 2000 328ci and think the new IS drives just as good as the BMW at least up to 95% of its limit. The exterior/interior is what sold me on it. I always preferred the handling/ride of the BMW but the IS has the whole package that works for me. It is scheduled to arrive in early April......can't wait! Also, off topic, did anyone try the IS with the manual, because it was very finicky and not smooth compared to the BMW?

    Anyway,
    Thanks,
    Brandon
  • intenceintence Member Posts: 32
That's a decent price given current market conditions. It's unlikely you'll be able to do better than $2500 off, and even that's a stretch. Maybe in a few months a better deal might come along, but you're pretty much smack in between sticker and MSRP.

I would be hesitant the get the manual, there are very few produced, and I think you'll have a harder time with resale. Most "sport-enthusiasts" who would want the manual, would buy the 350, so I still can't figure out why the manual is only offered on the 250.

Would you be able to give us the name of the dealer who quoted you that price?
  • indexcindexc Member Posts: 8
That's a good price. I got my IS250 RWD A/T with Premium Package for $31,734, so you beat me by about $500. It took me a lot of dealing to get this price as well. I should be getting mine in early March. I can't wait.
