They are just coming in now. You have to look for the Luxury Package (not the Premium Package).
Maybe right now, Lexus is only shipping the IS350 with the Luxury Package.
I am thinking of purchasing a new IS 250 with RWD Automatic. I live in Orange County, CA. I've dealt with
a few local dealers (internet managers) and so far I was quoted as below :
Lexus of Cerritos
$36,504 <-- IS 250 with Navigation
* offered $1,500 off *
Lexus of Westminster
$36,504 <-- IS 250 with Navigation
$33,954 <-- IS 250 with premiun package
* offered $1,200 off *
It is my first time purchasing a new vehicle and not sure
whether the above quotes are reasonable. Any inputs are
greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue with turtlish as I only want the
bi-xenon lights and according to the local dealers, Lexus
is only making the sports or luxury packages only with the
IS 350. The only available packages for the 250 are
navigation and premiun. Is this true?
I dont need navigation, all I want is the Xenon Lights!
A friend of mine advised that I should just get the basic
model and purchase an HID Kit (http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=3)
It states that the IS 250 basic model has halogen light,
what is needed to convert them to HID? also, how safe is this? are the lights the round looking ones or are those
just standard bulb that I see on my honda accord?
Should I just wait until lexus ships with sports package or luxury package? I'm really into purchasing this
vehicle but without the HID lights, I do not see a luxury
view of his vehicle.
I apologize for all the questions and hope that someone can guide me to the right direction.
Thanks,
Jay
Also, is it possible to get the ML system without Nav? I'd love the ML, but don't really need or care to have the Nav at such a high cost option. It seems to me you could go to an after market installer and get Nav and a great sounding system for less money.
Has anyone also heard of any sport package models coming to Chicago?
MSRP:$31,750
TMV: $31,632
INV:$28,009
Dealer: $31,564
I want to get as close to Invoice as possible. Do you think this is possible?
Sewell on the other hand wouldn't even come close, I tried working with their internet department (both locations), and also visited the dealership (Dallas location). They started playing the "let me go to the sales manager and see if he'll accept this" game. My initial offer to them was only $300 less than what Park Place offered. They came back and wanted to keep playing the "salesman/manager game" so I just walked out. I had also emailed dealers in Austin/Houston with little success.
I could get similar pricing out-of-state, but taking into considering the cost/time/potential problems, the deal that Park Place offered seemed pretty good given the current market conditions.
Also, you won't find a base model IS in DFW right now. Go to Lexus.com and try to configure the car using your Zip Code. The lowest MSRP you'll get is $32,664 (Base + 18" Wheels + Preferred Accessory Package). I had a tough time finding a car that also didn't have the Premium Package (Wood Trim + Heated Seats @ ~$1300) added.
If you don't need the car immediately, wait a few months and supply WILL eventually catch up to demand. I think you could probably purchase the car for invoice + 2000 or invoice + 1500 if you're VERY lucky. You'll have a tough time in the Dallas area due to lack of competition, try contacting some dealerships on Florida (read through previous posts here) as there seem to be better deals over there.
I truly appreciate your thoughts!
the dealer with the least negotiating skills was bredemann in glenview--they are rather uppity and feel they do not need to negotiate. I called one last time to ask for a counteroffer, and they refused. I would definitely try highland park as they are as nice as can be, willing to negotiate, and very customer oriented.
IS250AWD BlueOnyx/Cashemere Standard Package plus the preferred accesories package (wheel locks, cargo net..)
INVOICE for IS 250AWD--> $30,758
MSRP for IS 250AWD--> 34,875
MY QUOTE--> $32,600 + TAX, TITLE, ETC
(Plus, a very nice sales rep)
INVOICE for IS 250RWD--> $29,758
MSRP for IS 250RWD--> $33,040
MY QUOTE--> $30,000 + TAX, TITLE, ETC
(Not such a nice rep)
Help I don't know what to do! Thanks I appreciate everyone's feedback :-)
Last week, I purchased and drove away the exact car I wanted, an IS 250 AWD w/ Nav, Luxury, Spoiler, and Preferred Accessories (MSRP 40,274), for $37,150, $150 in fees, and applicable state taxes.
For the record, I love the AWD in the snow, the Bluetooth works well with Verizon but does not allow phone book transfer, and overall, I love the car.
Good luck to all and thanks for the posts along the way.
I'll be sure to post my experience with the vehicle as time goes by.
Thanks again, Carnag
Thanks
Is there a way to find out where this car is and not call every dealership in the nation?
Many Thanks
There really aren't that many Lexus dealers.. Assuming the car exists (and there is no guarantee of that), try the dealerships within 100 miles of where you live.. That wouldn't take long..

A few notes:
- was very impressed with all the lexus sales staff. Originally test drove the IS250 at Putnam....the sales consultant (new guy) was very open and helpful. Would have gladly purchased from him, but the dealership only had 2 IS250s left in stock with configurations that were different than what I was looking for. (For anyone else looking to buy, Putnam was expecting more 250s in this week).
- IS250s are in demand. Of the 4 dealerships I drove to, one had no stock, one had 2 IS250s, one had a around 5 IS250s, and one had around 12.
- I paid for the car outright; picked an in-stock vehicle; no dealer financing; I think that may have helped improve my price.
- I'm very happy with the purchase. I had originally been considering lower-cost alternatives. I'm surprised to say, I have no buyers remorse - which is uncommon for me. The more I explore the IS250, the more I'm enjoying it. Check out the great turning radius!
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum...it made my purchasing decision much easier.
Interested in comments regarding prices paid to the only Lexus dealer in Hawaii, Servco Lexus.
Were you able to negotiate for less than MSRP? If yes, how much and what other considerations did you offer for the lower price?
Mahalo.
Thanks for the info. I am living in the South Bay and am looking for a IS 250 w/ navigation and premium ($36,504) at the steven's creek, colma, and putnam dealerships. I have been requesting quotes online and so far have only been able to get quotes ranging from $34,394 - #34,804.
In particular, I was wondering if you could go over more extensively your process of negotiating with the Stevens Creek, Colma, and Putnam dealerships.
- Did you negotatiate most of the deal/price by email?
- What quotes did you get from them?
- What price did you offer them when you went into the dealership?
- Did you ask the dealerships to match the prices with each other?
- In addition, did you use the $300 off coupon they are offering at Putnam Lexus?
Sorry for all the questions, but it would be very helpful if you could give me as much detail as possible.
If anyone else has any quotes and or negotiating input, that would be helpful as well.
Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I think I found it today at the Cincinnati Dealership, well at least he said they had a black on black there. Were you originally going purchase this specific car? What did you end up getting? What kind of price were they quoting you and at what dealership?? and yes I am in Ohio
Thanks
I was told that if I special order I'd have to pay for the car up front. Is that correct? That doesn't make any sense to me. I thought that you were supposed to pay/finance when the car arrives.
Thanks,
I wish car sales people realized how badly they make themselves look when they try to pull BS like that. The internet has been used by the masses for well over 15 years now. Don't they realize that there is a very strong car buyer network online were we're constantly exchanging ideas and knowledge?
I think he may want to show my sale before the end of the quarter. They must be pulling for good quarter-end results.
Find another dealership, or call the manager and ask to deal with a different salesperson that will show you what the lexus experience is about. Heck, some dealerships have manicure and a massage room that the wife can schedule while getting some work done. I always test drove the range of cars with the wife only, no salesman in the car. Very relaxed environment...at least it's supposed to be.
That being said, I wanted to return the favor and if my info can help anyone else out, then good for you. Pay it Forward, you know
We got an IS 250, AWD, Nav, Luxury Package, Black on Black.
Last week, right out of the gate, the Schaumburg Lexus internet manager offered $2000+ off and said he'd come down more if we came in.
Then after some further research, we determined we'd offer $36,500 for the car.
Naperville Lexus (where we wanted to buy it because it is 10 min from our house) said he wasn't going to meet our price and said to buy it elsewhere if we were going to get that great of a deal. Didn’t even want to counter offer. I don’t think he thought we were serious.
Then we called McGrath Lexus in Westmont and took our price to the sales manager there (not the salesperson we talked to last week when we were there). He countered with $36,878 and he said he couldn't do any less than that. Plus he had the car on the lot.
From reviewing the posts on this board, I think we did pretty good, but it was still feel like we got screwed. McGrath was the most aggressive in trying to meet our price. The sales manager was great to work and the Delivery Assistant who showed us how to use all the features was tremendous.
Sticker Price: $39,919
Purchase Price: $36,878
Invoice Price: $35,378 (Edmunds showed a lower invoice price, but we called 2 dealers and both gave us this amount as the actual invoice)
Net/net $3041 off of sticker ($1500 over invoice).
Good luck and hope this helps...
After calling 7 dealers in the tri-state area and only finding 2 available 350s in stock, I jumped on this deal.
They currently have 2 in stock a white one and a black one. Not sure of the options, but the GM is willing to deal due to the timing. This shocked me due to the unavailability of the 350s on the east coast.
If you are looking for a 350 it would be worth a phone call. As far as the car. I came from an audi TT so the handling is marginal at best, but the engine is so sweet..
The bluetooth works flawlessly and the NAV is one of the best. I love the looks of the car, and chose it over the 330. Very smooth and just oozes quality.

Lexus Mission Viejo and Tustin Lexus (or is it Newport Beach Lexus?) both said they'd sell for 3000 off MSRP (selling price of 33500). Lexus Carlsbad didn't seem at all interested. Kearny Mesa Lexus in San Diego said they'd do it for 33800 and guarantee in writing a free sirius receiver + install + 9 mnths free service as soon as they become available (summer). I purchased in San Diego because of the price+sirius, they were extremely up front and professional with me, as well it was close to my house.
Seems most places have plenty of the IS250s in stock now around San Diego/ Orange County and they're willing to deal if you shop around and are prepared to walk out of a few deals first
I have read thru this particular forum, as I plan on purchasing an IS250 the end of June (end of the quarter).
What I am a bit unclear on is the process with which you deal with the internet manager; do you first ask for an on line quote, or just call several dealerships and ask for that individual?
Also, I assume I should have the specific car (options, accessories, colors, etc) spec'ed out with MSRP and invoice pricing......
What next?
Thanks,
Allen
Once I got replies from them, I THEN replied to ALL of them "collectively" letting them all know that I AM shopping dealers. Once you do that, THEY start getting seriously competitive. He, the internet manager, will call YOU, if he is serious about selling. Have your car together, when you DO so choose to contact them. I am dealing with dealerships in Plano, TX, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA; Shreveport, LA; Atlanta, GA; and Baton Rouge, LA.
Let me know how YOU turn out. I love this forum action.
Ok, so you really must have the optional equipment chosen, even though they have cars on the lot that come close, but perhaps not have everything I want (or perhaps more than I want)? For instance, I would like Nav, but its not a deal-breaker - how do you deal with this?
Allen
I also found the same invoice and stickers as you.
I am also in NE and am looking for a nearly identical car; what dealers did you contact? How did the process proceed? You can either reply or email me.
Thanks
