Nice pick-up, nav system not very user friendly. Maybe I'm used to the Toyota systems.

I know what you are talking about. I recently drove a Ford Expedition w/Nav ( all respect Joel ) and I found the nav not as user friendly or as good as the Nissan Nav sysytem. I have to admit once I got used to it it got me where I needed to go. But I was surprised of the Nissans Nav system. ( Not to toot my own horn but Nissan's Nav was far more advanced) . With all repsect to Deskman knowing he is a Dodge guy, I had a Ram 1500 loaded with Nav and I felt like a guy on a ship with latitude and longitude lattertudes. I was surprised that was what they were calling Navigation. I have seen Toyota's Nav and I think it is pretty good compared to what I have seen.

Those garmin or tom,Toms are all the same but I still think that having it from the factory is better at least from Nissan. From Nissan it is harder to steal.

Anyway I may be rambling but I have had a lot wine tonight with her work celebrating my wifes new promotion to assistant to vice president of sale of her profession. From the sounds of it I could sit at home every day on the computer not working anymore. :)

Hope everyone else is having a good day :shades:

Any way hope everyone had a great day

Good to see you back. You answered a question or I believed you answered a question I wanted to ask but felt funny asking. Have any of you had the opportunity to try Gov. 420? This may be deleted by the hosts or I may get a email for OTC but I was just curious of how that stuff happened? Docter or people you know ? Keep in mind I mean no disrespect? I don't know the struggles you guy's
( I don't have to mention any screen names ) through but sometimes wonder that I may be wearing shoes one day. If I am I will alway reflect back to these forums for strength. Future consideration for myself. Just being honest because I don't always respond when this is talked about and always feel like I should say something positive. So like I said this may be deleted but I alway wonder how much emphasis is put on left handed smoke? With all respect to everyone here and not trying to promote anything illegal!

If he was in CA, I'd say he could probably take advantage of that "legally". In FL, I doubt it.

I don't know though. Congratulations to your wife and you, GP! You two must constantly be trying to close each other on everything. :surprise:

Just be glad that you don't have millions and millions of dollars invested in a analog system that will soon be rendered useless. :D

The Nav systems in the Ford's will improve as they continue to integrate it with the SYNC system. I think next year they will launch the emergency communications system with it. The goal is to have the two systems totaly integrated and have a voice command Nav system.

"...What's GOV20? Some new Nissan engine?..."

Come on Mack, get with it. It's obvious what he was referring to. GOV. 420 refers to the California state code which in section #420 describes the California state flag!

I bet you thought it was something silly like a reference to smoking pot or something. LOL. ;)

I went to Amsterdam a few years back. Holy moly!!! They make some wicked brownies.

My buddy lived in Haarlem at the time and we took a train into Amsterdam. We sampled some of the local homegrown. Crazy business, crazy town.

    Hehe, nope.

After we sampled the local wares, we walked down through the Red Light district. I was a little floaty feeling and everything was very surreal. I remember people drifting past me and whispering in my ear, "Cocaine, ecstasy". When I turned to see who had said anything to me, they were gone. Pretty spooky feeling.

We checked out the district, but it was a little crazy for me. Ladies staring at me from windows, beckoning and smiling, and me high as a kite = not a good mix.

At any rate, since this post may leave the building quickly, read rapidly.

How's sales this month for everyone? We're really starting out slow. :(

GP! You two must constantly be trying to close each other on everything.

Thanks Moo... Ya know what it is funny you say that. When ever we get into a dissagreement or loud conversation ;) . I notice that I start talking to her like she is a customer. I start trying to over come her objections and close the fight. I'll use the famous one Other than me not helping around the house that much is there anything else I need to consider?

She sometimes picks up on it gets mad and says "stop talking to me like a customer" It always makes me chukle in my head :shades:

Any one else ever notice that they do that?

Whirpool/Toyota? That's a good one! I do like Whirpool appliances. Replaced the washer and dishwasher with GE boy what a big mistake! But that's another story. Little slow around here today. Delivered a used Tacoma and rest of the ups were tire kicking. Had a be-back on a Sequoia and now he's just trying to decide which color to get. Customer's from last Saturday called me up during the week and asked if they could trade their car in since they weren't getting the 3k the bhph dealer told them he'd give them. Since they had not taken delivery of the vehicle yet, I told her no problem. 2.5K on a 99 Alero. Nice ride with 84k miles. Leather, roof, cd, alloys, etc. Clean with the exception she is a heavy smoker and the car has been smoked to death. :( Hopefully prep can get the smell out since I have a customer looking for something in this price range. Have a great weekend! I'm off to the house to see the rest of the Packers game. Looks like they are polishing off the Seahawks (Sorry Craig) Could be a rematch for the NFC title as long as my 'Boys don't stumble tomorrow afternoon.

Mack... a friend of mine just picked up a new Sequoia.... he looked and looked at other vehicles and settled on the Toyota. He needed this vehicle for minor hauling (in the home staging business) and the Sequoia fit the bill. He was looking at mini-vans(Odyessy and Sienna) but he wasn't ready to make the leap to a 'mini-van' as this car is also his daily driver. The Honda's mirrors will not fold-in electrically which was a negative. He backs into his garage which is tight and needs to pull the mirrors in.

While looking at the Sienna, he saw the Sequoia and the deal was done. He is 'pleased as punch' with all the creature comforts.... he still has his two Lexus RX's (400h and a old 300).

The Sequoia should be a good seller.

PS. Also had GE products (washer and dryer) and junked them after 5 years... have had Magtags for years and went back to them because they never gave me problems. The GE's were a nightmare!

Joel, I'm going to make your day. This afternoon, my wife and I went shopping in the Explorer. We were rear ended at a traffic light by a teen driving a Land Rover. Yes, he was on the cell phone. The impact was strong enough to knock us into the car in front. When everyone exited their vehicles to check damages, the Land Rover had a dented grill and the Chrysler 300 had a smashed trunk and bumper. My Explorer had ZERO damage---nothing in the front or back. Tell me Fords aren't the best! :D

We weren't hurt but my wife gave the teen a lecture on cell phone use while the police were writing up the report. When she got finished with him, I think that he wished that he had been arrested rather than hear her scolding. ;)

Hope that you and your wife are all right.

Seldom does a day go by where people on this forum are looking to load up their vehicles with every gadget available to make it "more safe". However, all that safety is a mere illusion when you put an inexperienced teenager and a distraction device (cell phone, Ipod, several vehicles, etc.) into the same vehicle.

The only justice is knowing that the teen's real (and probably ONLY) punishment comes when he sees what his insurance bill is next renewal.

I have my lucky red Manning jersey on . It worked last week!

Can't wait to see the Giants pull th eultimate upset of the Packers in Lambo (still not sure why they gift wrapped a running game to them...)

Although overcoming the odds will be tough. Not the Packers, but the fact that the league and the refs will have the fix in to get Favre to the super bowl. THat alone is worth 7 points on the spread! Hey, maybe they can just spot the Pack 7 on the scoreboard, and call the game fair!

Geeze ‘stick’, you can be a little more creative than that.

These dealership contests with all the incentives have/will be interesting. With as many years as I’ve followed these routine Sales Events and then the Dealer Take All End of Year Events, I’ve never seen any dealership that was able to take a deal away from all the others as if they were clubbing a first time buyer like a baby seal.

It seems like it doesn’t matter to this dealer; whenever they want to close a deal it’s…”a done deal”. And can you believe this guy was actually caught trying to figure out how his competitors do it? :confuse: It’s a good thing the manufacture stepped in or they may have picked up some bad habits and ruined everything for themselves. :D

The new 08 Sequoia is a sweet vehicle. We're having customers trade in their LC's for them. Looking at the content to value equation you get more for your money with the Sequoia. There will still be the die hard Landcruiser fans who will still buy the new model.
Getting back on topic, I'm going to hold on to these two for a couple of years to take less of a hit when I trade them in. Going back to Whirpool.

Stranger things have happened! :) It's a pink number 9, remember number 8 was the great Troy Aikman whose jersey I will be wearing today during the game. :) for karma. Should be a great one. The Pack sure put on a show last night, what a great comeback and running by the rookie guy #25. The Patsies did what they were expected to do and looked good doing it. They are amazing! We'll see if the Chargers can pull the upset of the week today, I sure would like to see Norv Turner get his due.

"can already see mine ,mustard yellow or rust brown with a surfer foot gaspedal,.."

    Deskman--

Is that the metal footpedal that is shaped like the bottom of someone's foot? The fact that you mentioned it is giving me a 60s flashback. Does anyone else remember a TV commercial from the late 60s where a young guy and girl (teenagers) pull up to a gas station. The guy has just blown nearly all of his money on one of those foot-shaped gaspedals and is nervous that they don't have enough cash to buy some gas as the gas gauge in his car reads "empty". I can't remember, but perhaps the girl loans him some change or the gas is so cheap he's got enough change to get them back on the road. The cheap gas was likely the premise of the ad.

Any of you other 50+ year olds remember the commercial or who it was for? Times certainly have changed. Hardly anyone pays cash now and certainly no one could travel much beyond the gas station with only a bit of pocket change to spend.

Not sure why this commercial--out the the thousands and thousands I have seen--has stuck in my brain.

Greenpea'll probably agree with me, but I'm hoping for a Pats/Pack Super Bowl. Pats get revenge for the (I think it was) '95 Super Bowl where the Pats were down but had the Mo'. Then, after a Pats TD got them within 7 (again, if memory serves) Desmond Bleepin' Howard returns the kickoff for 6 and effectively ends the Pats, and Drew Bledsoe's, chance at glory.

If not the Pack, then the Gints as I think they earned another shot at the Perfect Pats after that magnificent season ender...

Looks like the Packers and Giants in the NFC championship.
The Cowboys [non-permissible content removed] the bed today. It was a complete team effort. After the way they played the last few weeks of the regular season I didn't expect today's game to be any different. Congrats to the Giants and it should be a heck of an NFC championship game. I'm going with the Pack on this one due to Brett Favre. He has been amazing the last three weeks and seems unstoppable. I would even venture to say that if they meet the Patsies in the Super Bowl the Pack just might beat them. But I'm getting ahead of myself now. One game at a time.
Cowboys should have followed that advice. Jimmy Johnson did when he coached the triplets.

I think the wrong Manning is still playing. Little Eli looks so young, you would think he is still back at Ole Miss playing. Maybe this playoff experience will "age" him some.
The ageless one, Farve from Southern Miss against the young one, Eli, from Ole Miss. One Mississippi quarterback is headed to the Super Bowl.
I can't see Eli having a good game in the frozen tundra of Green Bay.

I remember the ad. It was for Gulf gasoline. The hook was that the attendent still washed the windows and checked the oil- even though the kid was only buying something like 75 cents worth of gas. His girl finds another quarter so he uses it to buy some more gas. The ad was made before the 1973 oil crisis, so a dollar would have bought three or four gallons...

Very few people look for 5spd cars nowadays. I'm one of them. I love to shift but my city is so crowded now that traffic crawls so an automatic is more practical. Some of the younger generations also look for a stick shift, once in a while I'll get an "old geezer" (older than myself  ) Looking for one too.
