Yeah, so true. 50 degrees in July and we're wearing full fall clothing. But 50 degrees in January? Shorts/tshirt and a game of Ultimate on the Quad!

My memory has gotten worse since I got married. You know, blunt trauma to the head as I didn't say, "I do" quick enough! ;)

Think I"m gonna go try my new snow tires!

Does anyone here sell Chrysler vehicles? We have gotten several really nice used 2007 Chrysler 300's and P T Cruisers on our used side for sale. These 2007's were bought about at 50% of the new cars window sticker. Is it just the economy is there something wrong with Chrysler with the piteful resale value? I know Cerberus bought them out but is there another reason????
The GM marked the cars way up and whoever sales one is going to get a fat check.
  • joel0622joel0622 Member Posts: 3,299
Don't worry about it, just be one of the people to sell one and get the fat check.

You call it pitiful resale, I say its an opportunity. ;)

the game you are thinking of was the superbowl in 97.
  • dino001dino001 Member Posts: 6,191
It's all great as long as you find somebody who doesn't know about it and get them buy it at your price. Don't expect big lines though. If you mark it too high, people simply conclude it's not worth even bothering if they can get a new one for less than your asking price. But brother - if you can get it more power to you. Just don't hold your breath. ;)

I was starting to think it was 1996 but that would be 1997 superbowl. But trust me those dyas are still blurry.

Well the snow tapered off about 12:30 and thats when we started clean up. 3 and a half hours later we had it all done. We were prepared and that is the biggest thing. we got about 8 or 9 inches. In the beggining of the year same amount of snow took 11 hours but we did things differantly than and had about 50 less cars this time. total about 300 cars. Now I am soaked and waiting till 9pm. Of course i am making follow up calls. Have two people on the fence from the weekend.

Question. It seems more than ever but in the last year or so it seems no one ever brings their trade any more, ever :confuse:

I know the internet says not to do it and all the books but it is always a critical [iece of the puzzle. Anyone else notice no trades as much or is it just me.

:confuse: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn’t find the ask the dealer thread.
If anyone is at Nissan dealer, please help.
I’ve been looking at ’08 Versa SL with CVT. On top of my option list is ABS, plus XM, Audio, Moonroof and Conv. Packages. I’m having problem with finding one with ABS and the rest. All the ones around here are either ABS and Conv package, or XM/Audio/Moon/Conv but no ABS. I’m around Pittsburgh, PA, searched inventory for pretty much everyone within 100 miles and found exactly 4 cars with ABS, and nothing else. I have never seen anything like this where certain option is so hard to come by, especially ABS which is pretty much a standard now. I can understand if I was looking for Manual tranny (found 2). Anyway, does anyone know why it’s so hard to get the ABS option?

Same here GP, more people leaving them at home. Waste of time IMO but hey, if that is what they have to do to keep from making a spot decision what can ya do.

We still trade with people though site unseen on there trade. Allot of times it allows us to get the car for a touch less then if it was here. We always have the "Sir how can I put top $$ in a car I have not even seen yet." Then by the time they bring it back the deal is already done.

have you tried walking into a dealership and asking a salesperson to find one for you.

personally, i don't trust online inventories. And, really, I don't completely trust salespeople trying to do a locate (not that I don't TRUST the salesperson, but I don't trust the inventories to be correct in this instance, either). When we were looking for my sister's car, the first dealer did a locate and told us there was 1 in the state, but it had all these extra things she didn't want. Went to the next dealer and they had EXACTLY what she wanted. It had just come off the truck that day.

Versa is the exception for Nissan. It is the only car where ABS is a optional all other 08's are standard ABS ( except also the base sentra). I'll do a locate up here and see what I get back.

    Just checked...

There are plenty inthe New England area and New York Area. Most of them you have to get the conv. pkg splash guards and kick plates. You should be spending around $17,000 minus rebates( $17,ooo would be a good price with discounts)

GOod Luck maybe you need to expand your search or pay a premium

    Good Luck

Please let me know how you made out
  • kubus_gtkubus_gt Member Posts: 31
I did, he came back with 2 out of the 4 I found, but none had the other packages. So I left with assurance that they had deliveries daily and they will call me. Well they did, about the same 2 cars. I guess I'll have to order it before the $750 rebate expires.

I'll take that wager. Loser has to post "Imports are really superior" .
If the Chargers pull an upset it will be the upset of the decade. The Packers have a better chance to upset the Patsies though and they will more than likely meet in AZ. Like they say on any given Sunday. ;)

Your problem there was some dealers especialy ones that are close to each other don't trade. Main;y because of competition or there was bad blood between them. I know we don't swap with our biggest competitor. If you were looking for a vehicle and they had it i would tell you that they didn't becuase I want you to buy from Me!
Don't take it so personally. But they could have been a Sh&*$y dealer also.
    Congratulations

That's what I've been finding here GP. Try adding conv, audio, moonroof and XM packages, and it will be hard to find one that has ABS as well.

I had a customer like that last Saturday. Bought a RAV4 and wanted 3k for their 99 Olds Alero. Nice car low miles 84k but smoked in like the 1900's Chicago fire. We put $2500.00 on it and customer declined. Said she had an offer of 3k at a used dealer. Later in the week she called me and asked if they could still trade the car in. Since we were waiting for a check from her for the balance the deal was still in F$I and she hadn't taken delivery of the RAV yet. So we took it in trade. UCM wasted no time sending it to the auction. :( I could have sold that car yesterday or today.

OK I'll take one of the PT Cruisers for 50% of sticker plus $100 (the wife thinks they're cute). Unless they're former rentals, in which case I wouldn't touch em'. ;)

Tried posting earlier but computers went down or something...

I'll take that wager... I want the packers and and the pats in the superbowl.

let's make it more personal

If the Packer's win I'll say that "Toyotas are the supeior import"

If the Pats ( or Patsies as you refer to them as :surprise: ) win you say "Nissan's are the superior import"

If either team doesn't make it before the playoffs that when you or I have to start posting. Posting will be for one week after the game ends. If we both loose than it is a push.

If anyone else takes action and I loose their posts will be posted below yours since you were the first comer.

Sounds like you work for Deskman, that's his M.O.

I wonder how much the rental car companies paid for them originally, 70% window sticker?
  • greanpea68greanpea68 Member Posts: 1,996
They are Chryslers... Chrysler is very behind book. which mean if you look up edmunds,KBB or any thing subtract about $3000. Because that is what they are doing at auction.

For the record I always believe that( with all respect edmunds and KBB) Trade in value is what retail is for a dealer's vehicle. In other words KBB and edmunds have a allowance put in for the trade.

Maybe it is just the market up here in New England but that is alway what I found.

    GP

No one is happy when ever I give them their ACV ( actual cash value). I mean I have never recieved a hug when ever I have given someone what there trade is worth.

Back in 1998 my wife was interested in a new Maxima(yes, the plain and dull one- she knows better now ;) ). We looked at several dealers in the Louisville area and none of them had one with ABS- and no salesman acted very interested in finding one. The more things change...

    Like my owner always says
"If you found a $20 bill would you sell it for $10"

    The obvious answer is no.
If a UCM is on the ball and lucks into finding some cars for $10K that should sell for $15K that is just him doing a damn good job.

Like allot of folks here always say, a car is worth what ever the market will allow. If a dealer is able to find some for less then that then it creates an opportunity.

I have to retract what I said the other day about no damage to my Explorer when I was rear ended at a traffic light. While the front is fine, there was a bit of damage to the rear bumper. The next morning I noticed that the top covering of the rear bumper where it meets the tail gate had popped up. A large bolt and washer was on the ground. I guess it came loose on the drive home. Still, considering the heavy impact, I think that the Explorer did very well compared to the Chrysler and the Land Rover.

Long ago I found a $5 bill on the university parking lot. I held it up and waved it. Noone claimed it as theirs so it was MINE. (The parking lot was empty of people.)

I usually find pennies, dimes, and $1 bills.

    Lol,

If you find dropped money, you look around and see if anyone looks like they just dropped it. If not, move on with your life and smile at your success.

I read about a couple that moved into an apartment that the previous residents had been evicted from. They were cleaning out the freezer and found $20k wrapped in aluminum. Some of it was decomposed and they couldn't use it, but the rest was legal tender.

What would I have done if I found that money? Spent the damn dough. They turned it into the police and won't get it back. Not even a finder's fee. (Previous occupants convicted on drug charges.) Ahh well....

Mack, is this the Matrix replacement?

Only if the Matrix started to binge eat in order to qualify for "The Biggest Loser".

The Venza is meant to (sort of) take the place of the Highlander, now that the HL has 3 rows of seats. The Venza is meant to only seat 5 (like the Ford Edge) and will be available with both a 4-cyl and a V6 engine.

Like the Edge is to the Freestyle (oops, Taurus X), so to is the Venza to the Highlander.

I went to a Black Crowe's concert at The Tabernacle here in Atlanta about 5 years ago (give or take). We were sitting in the parking lot having some beers and caught a little buzz.

A nice gentleman came by and offered to entertain us. He showed me 3 cards and one of them was an Ace. We wagered $1 and if I found the ace after he shuffled them, I could win $1. Guess what? Even though I was drunk, I was able to find that quick little ace. I won $1.

Well, then he asked if I wanted to play for more. After seeing that I had some cash, we decided to wager $20. Somehow that tricky little ace wasn't as easy to find anymore.

In the end, I found $1 and the nice gentleman with the crooked teeth found $40. I guess my luck wasn't so good.
