Good one. You Noth Shah or South Shah? Reveuh? Sawgus? Woostah? Tucksberry? Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastahn?
My deckhand engineer is from Boston and all we hear about is the Socks. Came to Washington State in the Coast Guard, married a local gal and stayed. What is amazing is that I didn't know the way he talked could be put to the written word, but you have done a great job of it.
Next time when your in Chicago look me up I will show you some good pizza.
I remember the first time I went to Chicago. 16 hour drive from Boston. It was back in 1995. I never forget the paintings on the Buildings of the Bulls players.
We went to Uno's and I had never been there before. I remember thinking this Pizza is so backwards. Why would they put the sauce on top??? :confuse:
And every place seemed to cut the pizza in little square shapes.... :confuse:
It was very different than what I was used to. Now Uno's seems to be everwhere and it is always Nice when I take a "Nissan Armada" there to go get lunch. A personal pizza should fill someone up all day :shades:
But if I ever get out that way again I will definatley look you up. :shades:
Also when I went there we go out to the bars. I didn't know last call was 4:45...Last call in Boston is at 1:45... 3 hours can make a difference. We were at Excalibur...
I don't remember what happened but woke in someones car out in suburbs somewhere. I had to walk 3.5 hours to the train station to get me back to Chicago. I had enough money to to take the train but had to have someone wire me money back from Boston
Ok, so this puts me in something of a pickle when I consider the service adviser's statement to me that "anything less than completely satisfied is a complete failure as far as we are concerned." While for the most part I was happy with the experience, to say that I was completely satisfied with the entire experience would be untrue. I have not received the survey yet, but I can guess at some of the things I might be asked. The adviser was friendly and courteous. I was greeted quickly. Diagnostics to confirm the problem happened right away. The service was completed in a satisfactory manner and in a reasonable amount of time. They took care of an outstanding recall that I did not know about. The waiting room was as comfortable as should be expected. There was coffee and donuts.
Now there was one issue though. This visit was for the known issue with 2004 GM trucks' instrument cluster. GM has an extended warranty campaign on this issue. The necessary part is not routinely stocked by the dealer. Had to come from a distribution center about 85 miles away. They use a courier service to distribute the parts daily. I had to wait 3 days for the part to come in. This left me to take the truck on a planned trip with a defective speedometer. I was inconvenienced and it was unnecessary. It would seem to me that the obvious, common sense solution to this scenario is for dealers to be allowed to stock one or two of these instrument clusters. Had that been the case I could have been in and out of the dealer in about an hour on the first visit.
Now, if I give this honest, and hopefully helpful, feedback on the survey, the service adviser is the one penalized. I assume he won't lose any pay, such as being docked any pay, but will most likely not get bonus money or something like that. My assessment is that what happened to me was completely out of his control. I'm happy with him.
I am left with the belief that the survey, which could be a valuable tool to actually improve the circumstances for all concerned, is reduced to a useless, punitive exercise. That's really a shame.
I am wondering if they would be better off if we didn't send in the survey---unless we wanted to give them a perfect score. You know the old saying, "No news is good news."
We went to Uno's and I had never been there before. I remember thinking this Pizza is so backwards. Why would they put the sauce on top???
Because they are doing their best to disguise the taste of a horrible pizza.
Somehow I doubt that ‘snake’ was thinking about Uno’s when he was talking about taking you to a good pizza shop. If you can eat Uno’s you can eat Pizza Hut.
It was very different than what I was used to. Now Uno's seems to be everwhere and it is always Nice when I take a "Nissan Armada" there to go get lunch.
You could drive there in a Vette, Porsche or Maserati and it would still be bad pizza.
That otta keep it on topic.

"The expression which means “behold!” is voila. It comes from a French expression literally meaning “look there!” In French it is spelled with a grave accent over the A, as voilà, but when it was adopted into English, it lost its accent. Such barbarous misspellings as “vwala” are even worse, caused by the reluctance of English speakers to believe that OI can represent the sound “wah,” as it usually does in French."

BTW I think the majority of consumers really over think it when it comes to surveys. If it went like it is supposed to don't bust a guys balls because the left rear floor mat was still in the trunk or because there was water spots on the bumper.
If I was as critical about the Customer Service I receive on a daily basis in a number of retail outlets as some people are on Surveys then I would lead a miserable pissed off life all the time.
Ya know, given Shea's flight path difficulties I'm kind of surprised they are building the new park right next door. I'd have thought moving out of flight paths would be a good idea. Too late now.

Gp I hope you have joined the Friends of Bill W. They will keep you sober and it's free! This should be their anthem:
Joe Walsh, One day at a time.
Well you know, I was always the first to arrive at the party, ooh! And the last to leave the scene of the crime Well it started with a couple of beers, And it went i dont know how many years, Like a runaway train headed for the end of the line.
Well I finally got around to admit that I might have a problem. But I thought it was just too damn big of a mountain to climb. Well I got down on my knees and said 'Hey!' (la la la) 'I just cant go on livin' this way!' (la la la)
Guess I have to learn to live my life one day at a time. Oh ya! One day at a time! Oh ya! One day at a time!
Oh ya! One day at a time! Oh ya! One day at a time!
Well I finally got around to admit that I was a problem. When I used to put the blame on everybody's shoulders but mine. All the friends I used to run with are gone, (la la la) Lord, I had'nt planned on livin this long. (la la la)
I have to learn to live my life one day at a time!
It was something it was too blind to see, I got help from something greater than me.. And I have to learn to live my life one day at a time! Lyrics by Joe Walsh played in a solo album and also with the Eagles in their farewell tour in Melbourne Australia. Look for the DVD this song alone is worth the price of the 2 disc set. Look for it at wally world. I picked my up for $11.00 It's an incredible concert. The quality of the sound and video is without par. Mack

Yeah that doesn't sound like a good idea to buy from a guy like that even if it is just a possibility. A carfax doesn't catch everything you know and unless you have a paint meter some repairs are hard to spot.
I agree that Volvo Manual shifters can be a little rubbery. Even the R series Volvos tend to be a little vague with their shifting action but that is nothing a short shift kit can't solve. I think IDP sells them for just about every volvo transmission made.
Sorry to disappoint you but there are a lot of idle salespersons right now and not many car buying stories. I' ve only sold 5 cars this month. Lots of people are waiting to see what this economy will do. So how do you like my soon to be new guitar? I can't decide between the Ibanez GAX70 or the Squier by Fender standard Stratocaster. Both are the same price and both sounds amazing! Help! Mack

Mack,
Do you know the name of the song? I will look for that album. I love the Eagles and Joe Walsh for that fact.
I have thought of the program... I do have many friends that hang out with Bill...
Thank you...
Also the only pic that showed up on my screen was the guitar. You are cracking me up with these things!!!
There is way too much idle talk about sports, personal kidding, and non sales information.
Well for the record that is what people on the front lines mostly talk about. Also there has been alot of what happens. If you have questions about something just ask.
I don't really care for telling stories of how someone got crushed or was pissed that they felt they got a lousy deal. Sometimes it becomes redundit ( did I spell that right Rich? )... Who am I kidding sometimes I love it.... :P
But we have covered alot of stuff here and sometimes I don't want to tell a story untill a customer has taken delivery in case they read this and put 2 and 2 together
I know deny, deny deny, but sometimes if you were in the situation you might be able to figure something out.
You should probably give the dealer the benefit of the doubt on the instrument pack as the manufacturer probably doesn't allow these to be stocked by the dealer. This is probably a case where the instrument packs have the mileage and vehicle configuration set from the Parts Depot. Many manufacturers require the dealer to put in a form (either electronically or by fax) that has the VIN, mileage, final drive ratio, etc. Then the dealer is sent an instrument pack with that information permanently burned onto the internal PROM.
i grew up in springfield(western mass), maybe that explains it? actually my dad was from brooklyn, a yankee fan, and the apple didn't fall far from the tree. i did buy my first new car in massachusetts, a volkswagon scirocco. it was too hard to spell so i traded it in on a ford.

The name of the song is "One day at a time" which is the philosophy of the AA organization. They should make it their anthem. They sure helped me. Which guitar do you like best? They are both priced the same, the Squier by Fender has a few more features and it's beautiful in the Cherry Sunburst. I played the Ibanez yesterday and it blew me away! Less features than the Squier but feels more solidly built and sounds great! I'm torn between the two so I'm going to have to flip a coin. My sons are getting it for Father's day.
P.S. look this kid up on youtube and myspace, He is AMAZING! just turned 8 but can rock the strings off a guitar. Has his own band with his dad on rythm guitar, a bass player, and drummer.
