No, you did not hurt my feelings. It is just that I am a bit sensitive about the clunk. I had researched the Azera to the nth degree and even test drove 3 Azeras. All 3 test drives were on smooth pavement. Then on the second day of having the car, while driving to work, I discover the dreaded clunk. Since that time I have battled with Consumer Affairs over the issue as well as the district parts and service manager. As far as the service manager at the dealership he and I have a very good relationship. I struggle with the question "how could I have missed this" because had I noticed the clunk during a test drive I would have never bought the car. Battling with Consumer Affairs has been exhausting and as far as the clunk, I know . . . its just not right.

    My apologies to you.

"Anyone getting some good prices on 2006 models - please post."

Mid-November I checked with Comsumer reports (paid the $39 for 3 months of car bargaining info) and then the dealer offered me about what CU suggested I try for, so I said OOOKKKAYYY!!! :surprise:

Since then, I read here that my $27,600 out-the-door for my Azera Limited with Premium pkg (which included tax, title, license and wind deflector) was only average or a little high! I never could bargain, but as I hope to keep this car for 15-20 years as I've done with my last two Hondas, I guess it'll "amortize" out... :)

    No problem!
We all want to get to the end of this problem, and correct this sound.
My hope is that enough owners' voice their complaint, the company will take the problem more seriously.
Clearly, if the problem is not corrected, it will hurt their sales, as well as reduce the resale value of the model.

Autofair in New Hampshire had a recent newspaper ad with an se for 19950. I didn't see the fine print though. As an aside- is it just me or are there a lot of leftover 2006 azeras?

I believe that there are still plenty of 06's available. Used 06 Limited's are going for about 20K.

I just bought an 06 Azera, Limited, no option packages for $22972 + TTL. I am very happy with the deal.

In September, I paid $26,700 at Alexandria, Va. Hyundai, and this price included Va. taxes, title, etc.....for a Limited with premium package...did all negotiating over the internet. Smooth as silk transaction..I was in and out of the dealership in under one hour...I had told the salesman prior to my arrival that I didn't want to hear any guff about paint/fabric protection, additional warranty, or anything, or I wouldn't show up!

Does anybody get the good deal on 07' limited with ultimate package?
    Please post it.

    Happy holiday.

I just had my black 2006 Azrua stolen, and after looking once again at other cars in this class and price range, I have decided to get another Azera. The choice is between two fully loaded unlimited cars, both have every option available. I can get the '06 for 25,100 and the '07 for $26,495. Do you think the additional money is worth it for the '07?

  • rhduke00rhduke00 Member Posts: 129
If it were me I would choose the $25,100 2006. Also, unlike the 06 which has a full size wheel and spare tire, the 07 only comes with a space saver.
  • donboy93donboy93 Member Posts: 14
Thanks, I was not aware of the wheel difference. I was just about ready to get the '07 as I figured maybe they found a few bugs in the '06 and tweaked them for the '07, but I always like having a full size wheel and tire. I might asked the dealer if they would get a new wheel and tire for the '07, but I doubt if they will do this.

    RE 371
I don't remember the last time that I used the spare tire in any of my cars. The trade off of the improved steering wheel audio controls and the lighted side view mirrors, as well as having a one year newer car will help resale value.
Some manufacturers have gone to "donut" spares not only to save cost but to keep weight down and increase interior space and improve MPG. I'm not aware if the truck space has been reconfigured and will still accomodate a full sized spare.
If it were me, I would go for the 07

    2007 without doubt

The steering wheel controls and the lights in the side mirror (if equiped) are very worthy and the redesigned instrument cluster is cleaner and easier to read.

The spare can be addressed if you want to spend the money on an extra rim, the space is still there to hold it.

Got my 2007 Black/Black Limited Ultimate 1200 miles ago for

    26,457 + ttl

    My only minor quibles are:

    1. cannot eject any other disc than the one "playing" and cannot listen to another at the same time you are ejecting or loading. Small I know but something easily engineered like in my wife's Mercury.

    2. Plastics on insode of doors retain smudges a little to much, I am worried that they will not wear well.

    3. Fog lights should be a different shape, maybe more like projectors as the squared off lenses look out of character from the rest of the car.

    4. you should be able to leave the "computer screen" blank as an option above the odometer.

    so far, that is it.

I love the car and am so very pleased.

    MLK -

Thanks for you input, I think I may go get the '07 today, white with black interior. I was not sure I would like the new instrument cluster as much as my '06, so thanks. I also noticed on my '06 that scuffs from my shoes did not off totally and I think I may try applying some kind of protectant to them while they are still clean, maybe a synthetic automobile wax.

Re #1 Minor Quibble: Loading or ejecting CD's.

If you press and hold the eject button for 5 seconds or so, you can unload multiple CD's. If you want to eject say 5 of 6 in the deck, simply hold down the eject button, then hit load when the fifth ejects, and #6 will stay in.

If you hold the load button for 5 seconds, you can load multiple CD's up to all 6 at once.
  • mlkofkimmlkofkim Member Posts: 3
Thanks for that info, it is certainly an improvement in the capabilities that I thought were available.

However, the real problem is not being able to LISTEN to #1 while ejecting #5. You are left without music during the whole operation.

I also don't like the move to the doughnut spare tire. Luckily, my '06 has the full-size spare and wheel. Why not use this as leverage in the price/purchase negotiations? Tell the dealer, "You furnish my new car with a full-sized spare and matching wheel, and we've got a deal!" The guy would have to be out of his mind to lose a sale over THAT !

Yes we did. And yes they are starting to thin out but there were a lot of 06's. I think it was just a first year luxury car mindset. I saw a lot of people come back to buy 07 models even tho they were more money just because they didn't want to buy a first yr model.

The selling dealer on my 02 XG350 was like the ones you have described. A friend recommended his dealer and I took my car there for service. The treated me very well and I asked them to remove the Dean Team Hyunda license plate frame from my XG and replace it with theirs. I kept returning for service. When the Azera cam out I had almost 80K miles on the XG. I waited until June to start pricing a new Azera. As a Costco member I went to the Costco dealer and they gave me a verbal quote of 700 dollars under MSRP. I went the my servicing dealer, Suntrup Hyundai and they beat the Costco price by 900 dollars. They have been very good about service. Look around and ask around and you might find a better dealer for service who will even take care of your problems even the windshield bezel. If you're in the midwest you might try a drive to Suntrup in St. Louis.
I do hate buying cars but Suntrup showed me the invoice, gave me the 1000 discount, the 500 dollar customer loyalty discount for buying another Hyundai and a 200 dollar internet discount. They gave me exactly the Kelly Blue Book on my used XG350 and all I had to do was ask. It was a pleasure to buy a car that way without all the games.

At Douglas Hyundai in Orange, CA. It was an executive car with 12000 miles on it. Pearl white Azera limited with Ultimate package. Got the $1000 rebate and the $500 loyalty cash back. Service was great. I however will have to go back and get the auto lock set and limping passcode.

I am going to need a new car next week.
I made my mind on Azera Limited w/ Ultimate.
    I don't really care whether it's 06 or 07.
What do you think the reasonable price would be for each year model?

I went to a local dealer's website and they have internet prices for each stock they have. Does it mean that they will guarantee that price for a specific vehicle? or is there something else to it?

I live in Northern Virginia. Any good dealer to recommend?

    Thanks!!! =)

I'm looking in Philly area. What dealers are moving them below $20K?
  • cableguy06cableguy06 Member Posts: 299
I saw it on the back page of the local paper that is given away for free in Bucks County. I typically just throw them out but the ad on the back of the paper caught my attention.

I bought my 07 Sonata from Fred Beans in Doylestown and was just there for service and saw a good amount of 06 Azeras on the lot. May have been them but I honestly cannot remember. At that price, I would certainly by an Azera over my Sonata any day without hesitation.

I'm sure if you call around, it wont be to difficult to find the deal as they all want to rid themselves of 06 autos.

Bought my 07 Ltd Ult from Sussman (Willow Grove) last month for 26457, you should be able to get an 06 by now from them for under 20.

    Good luck

LOL what a coincidence! I also bought from sussman. 24k for 2006 limited with premium package in november 06.

You can deal with them 2006 Se model under 20K.
  • kjangkjang Member Posts: 17
Last week I finally got my 07 Limited w/ Ultimate Pkg Black on Black.
I paid 28900 including all the taxes and fees.
Just a little over 27K for the car itself.
I'm not sure if I got a good deal.
My dealer was Manassas Brown's Hyundai.

we have 2 right now left. one blue and one white

of course were not in PA were in NH but whats a few hundred miles for a great deal

I tried McCaferty and they were ok , wanted 25 for a SE / premium otd. Sussman didn't have much ( Nov or so) in the SE range and all Ult were loaded. I was looking for a base commuter car and didn't want to spend much so I went to Fred Beans and picked up an 06 SE for 21300.or 22800 otd. Could have picked up a gold one advertised for 20800, but didn't care for the color. I like teh car but mpg is a big bummer. 4500 miles ( nov purchase) and with 1/3 suburbs 2/3 highway ( up rte 1 every morn) I'm averaging 19.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    RE: 394
MPG is similar to mine. I have spoken with dealer, and he reports that most customers are getting similar numbers.
I can't uderstand how some owners are reporting numbers in the high 20's, unless they are going downhill all of the time.
  • drdonrsdrdonrs Member Posts: 164
My 06 Azzy has just over 4000 miles and I am also getting in the area of 19+mpg. If we do only highway driving at about 70 mph it goes up to 24 to 25 but combined with around town driving it gets back to around 19+. I don't have a problem because I didn't buy the Azzy for being frugal on gas. My Acura TL's got on average around 18 to 19 combined using premium gas. So this is not so bad. :)
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    RE:386
I am not averaging 19 MPG. More like 17, although much of the driving is local.
  • donboy93donboy93 Member Posts: 14
I had a 2006 Azera for about 10 months, then it was stolen and because of the great amount of snow we have gotten in Denver this winter I bought a used 2003 Audi A6 Quattro, twin turbo. I would get about 30 MPG on the highway going 70 MPH, both from what the on board computer calculated and from my own calculations. I get about 25 MPG with the Audi on the same roads and the same speeds. Frankly, I liked the Azera better than the Audi overall. My car enthusiasts friends think I am nuts (they never drove the Azera)! The Audi sold for over $40,000 when new, so this says alot about what you can get for $25,000 from Hyundai. I plan on selling the Audi next year and will probably get a 2008 Azera (hope they have Xenon lights by then).

I average 22mpg on city driving as i dont do much highway. Tip: Use shiftronic and shift/drive under 2500k rpm. You'll see ur mpg increase gradually. I have been stable at 22 to 23 mpg for months already.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    RE: 399
Thanks for the tip, but I am too lazy and have learned to accept the milage.
The Q45 Infinity that I sold ( big car, with big 8) got better milage with same type of driving.

Checked local suburban Philly dealer. Base '06 Azera SE w/ mats and cargo tray for $2500 under invoice. Invoice included $500 advertising add-on. MSRP $25,170. Invoice $23,186 (incl adv). Selling $20,686. How do I get it below $20,000? Not too keen on the color -- Venetian Blue. Wanted black.

Purchased from Springfield Hyundai a new '06 SE over the weekend. Base car with mats in Aubergine. Here's the particulars:
    MSRP: $25,080
    INVOICE: $23,186
    INCENTIVES: $ 2,500; $386 add'l dealer discount(*)
    SELL PRICE: $20,300
    PA SALES TAX:$ 1,218
    DOC & TAGS: $ 152
    OTD: $21,670

(*) Due to the fact that he had to locate the car and had to put 300 miles on it to get it to me.
  • kgatworkkgatwork Member Posts: 16
Well, I just came home with a beige 2006 Azera Limited with the Ultimate package.

    MSRP: 30080.00

Sell Price 23500, including rebate + tax, tag, and license.

Did I do good? I went in 1/31/07 around 7:30pm and drove home at 10pm, wasn't quite expecting to do that. I have to give praise to my wife's negotiating skill, I would have settled for 1k more.
  • jack_spratjack_sprat Member Posts: 29
Where did you buy it - great price
  • azgrandazgrand Member Posts: 50
I bought an '06 Limited with Ultimate package on 12/29. I offered $25K even, (plus TTT) and would not budge. The dealer let me walk. Went back 2 days later and offered $25,500. They accepted. I probably could have gotten a better deal by shopping around, but there is no other Hyundai dealer within 50 miles of my house.
  • gamlegedgamleged Member Posts: 442
... I think everyone paid less than I did... ;)
  • eclaixpeclaixp Member Posts: 46
Where did you buy? That's an unbeatable deal! I got to see your invoice to believe it. Was it used? jeje :shades:

I got my 06 SE base for $22400 OTD  Should have waited.
  • kgatworkkgatwork Member Posts: 16
    Sorry for any confusion,

I just re-read my post and it sounded like the 23500 included all the listed. It does not, it should have read:

23500 includes 1000 rebate only! Add tax,tag and license. I did not include the OTD price as originally requested above.

As noted, I (Wifey) made the deal and drove home that night, apparently they wanted to free up inventory.
